What the Sound of Beautiful Music Can Do

Hi Folks

I hope you are all having a great month and being more active in the community than I have been.

I'm not sure what Murphy said about everything happening at once, but no doubt he had something to say.

The past few weeks have been rather stressful with much more to do than I planned. To add to that, New Zealand is experiencing one of the hottest summers on record, and it doesn't go well for me with my health. I have a breathing problem. The best hours are late at night, as it is right now. Five minutes before midnight. I'm sitting at my computer with a fan right beside me. It's very pleasant. But late and nights result in late mornings, so I feel I'm on a down-slide!

Anyway, on a cheerful note I found the most glorious music on Youtube. It is Healing Chinese ZEN music of Anxiety & Stress. Not only is the music outstandingly beautiful, there is a magnificent photograph of blossom which I imagine to be Cherry blossom. Various shades of pink with a background of clear blue sky. I have the picture on my laptop screen and use the headset from my transcription days, to listen to the music and work on my large screen.

The music goes for about 45 minutes and if I don't catch it another video will play. None that I've heard can touch the beautiful sound of the Chinese Zen music.

It's amazing how easily I created a 1300 word post using Site-Content. Site-Content, together with blossom and beautiful music is a great combination.

To add to all of that I turned to a book from twelve years ago titled 'The Secret'. I'm sure most of you will be familiar with 'The Secret'. That one, along with a few other inspirational books did wonders for me all those years ago. When everything is going well, it easy to lose focus on the resources that help us to improve our lifestyle.

One of the many great teachings of The Secret is to be grateful for what we have, and to express our gratefulness.

So folks, I'm ending this post with an expression of gratefulness for the amazing Wealthy Affiliate program, and the incredible community that contributes to each one of us continually focusing on reaching our goals.

Enjoy your weekend.

Thank you Valerie! I will check that out. I am very envious of your weather currently. I am from MN and it is COLD here.....I don't enjoy sitting in front of a space heater for months. I hope you are doing well :)

Kim, I know the feeling of sitting in front of a heater for months on end. I do that too in the winter time. We seem to have extreme temperatures these days, globally. Mildly cold or pleasantly warm is what I order, but nobody listens.

Thanks so much for leaving your comment. I greatly appreciate it.

Take care :)

Hi Valerie, I'm very familiar with the traditional Chinese music influences you've enjoyed. The Erhu is one of my favourite instruments, and tugs at my heartstrings whenever I hear it. A close friend from my music school days plays it beautifully.

I'm puzzled by why they used the Japanese word 'zen' instead of the Chinese 'chan' to describe it, but - oh well.

And yes, speaking from my distant past job as a music therapist, I am absolutely excited and supportive of people's use of music as a form of nourishment. There is a sound body of science to explain why music may do good for you. Help yourself!

Thank you Ivy, I enjoyed your message.
I've always loved music; it has been predominant in my life. Listening to the soft sounds of music previously unknown to me is a real treat.

I don't know why 'zen' is used rather than 'chan'. Quite strange, but I don't mind as long as the video remains online so I can listen to it's beautiful sounds as I write.

Thanks for that.

My pleasure DA.
Thank you :)

Thanks for sharing this, Valerie. I will try it.

My pleasure Tanya.

Beautiful post Valerie, and we are grateful for folks here like you who post these inspirational and beautiful things. I would love to hear this Chinese Zen music.

As far as"The Secret" is concerned, someone who was in this book (John Assaraf) has a program for developing wealth through controlling your mindset, and it also involves beautiful music.

Please look his program up, I currently use it regularly.

Thank you very much Kaju for your kind words.

Thank you also for your advice about John Assaraf's program. I will definitely look for it and I'm sure I will benefit from what he teaches. I remember John in 'The Secret'.

I just tried to leave you the link for the Chinese Zen music, but it wasn't allowed. So I'm including the full title of the video in Youtube. I'm sure you will find it under 'Meditation and Relaxation'. But, if not, please let me know and I will send the link by PM.

'Healing Chinese ZEN music of Anxiety & Stress | To pacify the body & Mind | Relax Music'

Enjoy :)

Thanks for sharing.

My pleasure Jared. Thanks so much for leaving your comment :)

I too have had read and seen some amazing resources over the years. I too have started to pick those books up again. It seems that many of us are in need of a reminder of the power of thought and gratefulness.
I hope your health improves but a big high five for getting that post written.
With Grace and Gratitude
Karen

Thanks so much Grace for your very kind message. Yes, with our busy lives it is so easy to overlook the power of our mind. It can destroy us if we let. Alternatively, we can open our eyes to the wonderful world we live in and allow the power of our mind to lead us to joy, happiness and success.

Good Morning Valerie,

Nice to see you again. As you know I am keeping a low profile trying to do important things like writing, commenting on other websites earning comments back plus a couple of lessons so perhaps by the end of the year I will have done all 5 courses.
I will send you something on music which I found very interesting.
You will hear from me.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

Thanks so much Taetske. It's great to hear from you again.

I've been trying to do similar to what you are and have been much less active in the community. It's hard to stay away, but sensible to develop our websites.

I look forward to hearing from you again, when you have time.

Enjoy your weekend :)

Hello Valerie,
Thank you for the wonderful post. The secret is a wonderful book and movie. Enjoyed that very much. I hope that things get less stressful for you.

Take Care
Steve

Thank you very much Steve for your kind message :)

My pleasure. You are very welcome.

Thank you Valerie, a very nice post! Is that the same Secret by Rhonda Byrne? Anyone you would recommend to read Valerie? Is the secret based around the law of attraction?

Have a wonderful weekend!

Wayne

Yes Wayne, it is the Secret by Rhonda Byrne and it is based around the law of attraction. I do recommend reading this book.

One of the other books I read was 'Millionaire Mindset' by Jack Canfield. I think that is the right title. As you read through his Chapters each one ends with Jack saying to place your index finger on your head and say 'I have a millionaire mindset'. Then there are exercises to do before moving to the next Chapter.

I read others but I can't bring them to mind right now, other than a book I was introduced to a few years prior to publication of The Secret.

The name of the book is 'The Writings of Florence Scovel Shinn'. I first read this book a year or two after my husband passed away and I was really unsettled. However, Florence's writings helped me tremendously. Admittedly it was written in the early 1900's but the basics of human nature don't change. It is a very thick book and I placed sticky notes throughout the various chapters. I read and re-read different chapters and relied on the writings for some years. Last time I looked, which is a while ago, 'The Writings of Florence Scovel Shinn' were available on Amazon. I actually purchased it from Amazon long before my affiliate marketing days and I remember that it took very many weeks to travel from the USA to New Zealand. But it was worth waiting for.

Another book written in the early 1900s was 'Think and Grow Rich' by Napolean Hill. This book is about business, but from what I remember, it contains much inspirational content as well.

I think I need to sign off for the night.

Have a great weekend :)

Hi Valerie

Thank you for those tips and your experience of the books. The one I hadn’t heard is The writings of Florence Scovel Shinn, I shall have to look it up.

I did the sticky notes thing with one of Eckhart Tolle’s books, the power of now, it’s a book I enjoyed at the time.

Thank you again for taking the time to respond, I very much appreciate it. Bed time here to!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Wayne

It was a pleasure to respond, Wayne

Yes, sticky notes are great. I even started using them on the computer a while back, but can't remember how I did that, so will leave it alone for now.

You enjoy the rest of your weekend, too :)

Valerie
