If you ever receive an answer to this question, you will be rich offering it to others. Wasn't all that long ago now that I too found myself without a j-o-b, so I truly understand how you feel.
You might better go to your local employment agency and sign up for whatever work you are qualified to do. In this way, you will have spending money while you learn to build a niche site that profits.

Start thinking about putting together a really good business plan. Take a look at liveplan.com not sure if it's something you can sink money into but they walk you through one step by step.
