Can a 'Like' in WA Comments Be Reversed?

I just read Robert (aka Boomergp08’s) Ambassador Quiz and what a great quiz it is.

I passed myself 10 out of 10 and so I should be able to as I’ve been at WA long enough to know the road map.

However, what I don’t know is How to reverse a 'Like' in Comments

Today is not the first time I have 'Liked' a comment that I didn’t intent to like. Usually it doesn’t matter all that much.

But a short while ago I clicked a 'Like' in a Comment and wished I had not done that.

Firstly, the comment was not made to me.

Secondly, the comment was about illness. I don’t think it's appropriate to 'Like' the subject of illness particularly when I don’t know the person.

I’m guessing the answer to my question is ‘No’. But I would prefer the alternative!

I wonder if Kyle or Carson have given thought to the subject of Reversing a 'Like' in a Comment?

I tried the down arrow on the Comment area but I received the opportunity to report spam. That definitely was not appropriate!

So now I'm left with this conundrum!

No doubt the answer is 'to take more care with where I distribute my clicks'.

Enjoy your wonderful life. It is precious!

You know not how much your little like may be taken as a token of support and encouragement in particular to one suffering the challenge of illness. So maybe best left as given? Imagine the effect a like withdrawn might have on someone fallen on difficult time in their life?

Yes, that's another viewpoint Richard. Although the reverse action would have been immediate. However, there was no option so the affect of that is for me to be more careful in future!!

Thanks very much for leaving your comment. I appreciate it :)

Seems like this action is irreversible at the moment. I know what you mean because I use my mobile to access WA a lot and sometimes I click "like" accidentally. It would be insensitive to click like on a illness related post.

True Moon. That was my thought, but some others see it differently.

Thanks so much for leaving your comment :)

That was a good question. I didn't know the answer, i tried to reverse it but i can't do it. Seems it's not possible for now.

Sylvain

It would be good if the option to reverse was there. Maybe it will happen eventually.

Thanks very much Sylvain for leaving your comment :)

I think at one time or the other, we have all done this Valerie. I don't think there is a way, but I could be wrong. I see no option.

Thanks very much Kaju. I appreciate your message. It was just the way my action to that particular comment made me feel. As you say, we've all done that as some time :)

Yes true, it is worse when we think the accident is inappropriate!

Hi Valerie,

I think you are being too hard on yourself. I agree with CraigW315 that most people would interpret you're like to be supportive.

Barbara

Thank you Barbara. I very much appreciate your comment. And I see it now from Craig's perspective.

You are correct in what you say. I'll think more carefully in future :)

I would also like to be able to "unlike" things, as I have inadvertently liked things without meaning to.

I will say, however, that if you "like" a post about someone's illness, or personal difficulties, I don't think most people would consider it inappropriate. They'd most likely take it as a sign of support. I know I would.

Thank you Craig. I hadn't thought of it as support. You are so right in what you say. Obviously my mind was set in the wrong direction. You have taught me a kind lesson.
Thank you very much :)

This may be flying under the radar Valerie, but it's a great point!

Thanks Michael. Liking is something we happily do, but when doing the wrong thing as I did today, it's not a nice feeling!

Sorry for that Valerie and as you say I hope both Kyle and Carson are working on improving such things.

No doubt a change will happen in time. Thanks very much Paul for your comment :)

I have done the same thing, Valerie and I assumed, after trying, that the 'like' cannot be changed as is the case with Facebook. Interested to know if we can :)

Thank you Carol. It is helpful to know you've had similar experience. It's not a nice experience but at least I'm not on my own with this :)

Great thought Valerie and no doubt more improvements are coming as always.

Thanks very much Lauren. I appreciate your comment :)
