A New Way of Helping Someone? - I Think Not!

Hi Folks

Today, I had a strange experience I thought worth sharing.

At least a few times each week I receive emails from someone promoting their services. I have no objection to those emails because these people have a need. Also, I don't see them as spam.

But, today I received a strange email which I really have to laugh about!

I would not have clicked on this email had I not just read an email from my doctor’s surgery advising that one of their staff is leaving the practice. The first name of the staff member is the same name as that on this strange email. I more or less took fright and wondered had I done something wrong with the medical email. Of course I hadn’t done something wrong. All I did was to read the message!

However, this occurrence encouraged me to click on this strange email, sent via the contact form on my website, and appeared to be promoting something.

Well, the purpose of the message I wasn't sure about. My first thought was that it is someone promoting their proofreading service.

But, it’s appears not.

The first sentence of the message tells me I have misspelt a word.

And, the word I have misspelt is wich.

Interesting! Is it which, witch or was it something else?

And where did I misspell this word?

This person wasn’t even interested enough to tell me in ‘which’ post he found the error. He just wanted to tell me that he uses SpellingScan.com.

On investigation of SpellingScan.com I found it would cost me $495.95 per month for the Enterprise version. I can get Business version for $14.95 per month and Standard for $3.95 per month.

Now, somewhere is the midst of all this there is sure to be an affiliate program. No doubt you would have guessed that by now!

So, was the email a new invention for attracting affiliate commissions? I’m not sure!

What I am sure about is that I don’t need SpellingScan.com because I have use of WA SiteContent which checks my spelling and grammar, plus ensures I haven’t produced duplicate content.

If the person who sent this email to me is not already a member of Wealthy Affiliate, then I suggest a free experience with WA would be a great option.

WA is where I learned professional methods of promoting affiliate produccts.

Thanks very much Louisa.

Best wishes.

Valerie

Hilarious! Seems like the hard way to earn a commision!

It sure was funny! I do hope this fellow finds an easier way, as in WA :)

Thanks Steven.

Thanks for the heads up Valerie! And yes, this person could probably learn a thing or two by joining wealthy affiliate. All the best,

Ash

So true, Ashley.

Thanks very much for your comment :)

Well said Valerie!!

Tried and True

Thanks Valerie,
He sure did get your attention for a while.
I will know to avoid 'spelling scan' if I ever come across them.

I had never heard of Spelling scan, and wondered if it was a scam.
His email was certainly a strange experience!!

Thank you Juliet :)

Ehat a coincidence! (Notice the deliberate error?)

I sure noticed it, Glenys.

I suppose the best thing I can say is that this fellow's email was interesting!!

Hahaha Thanks for sharing, Valerie.

My pleasure, Lilibeth.

Thank you :)

That's a strategy of promoting something. But why no explanations?

It's a strategy Jimmy, but not as good as WA'ers know how to do :)

That's true.

If he can put the same effort into working on his business here at WA, he will probably be much more successful!
Thanks for sharing the smile Valerie!
Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)

He would certainly have more opportunity here at WA!
Great to see you Sharlee.
Thanks so much :)

Wow, Valerie! Ha ha! I would email him back with your personal WA link to join! Great and intriguing story!!

Now that's a thought, Erin. I was so obsessed with his email it hadn't occurred to me to make an approach!

Ha ha, Valerie! I love your spirit!

I haven't done it yet, Erin. I'll let you know what happens!
Thanks :)

Please do! I will be interested to know! :)!

It's a promise :)

XOXOXOXOXO!
