I have a longtail keyword that can be worded differently and still get a lot of traffic. Should I use the multiple variations in posts, or should I write pages and not add then
Use the different variations in a post, the strongest one as title, the others as headlines (

I have a list of keywords that say the exact same thing but in a different way, each gets traffic. I really would like to get ranked for all of them seperately, but you think I should just try to squeeze as many as I can in one post?
Well, is it easy to write several 'original' posts around the same keyword, even if there are different search terms? That's the problem I am seeing there
John
Yeah, I have 8 articles that say the same thing but in a different way. My question is whether or not to publish them all as posts or make some of them operate as landing pages... I'm leaning towards publishing them as posts, because while they all may basically be saying the same thing, they have different titles and keywords.

I cannot view a page I published. I can view the excerpt, but when I click on the link to read full post I get this message: "Oops! that page can't be found."
I do. I'm new here. It's a challenge because this is the first time I'm using it. Learning is a process and it takes time to learn something new.

If you cannot connect to WordPress to Install a theme, then you will need to download the theme as a zip file and then upload the file.
I don't know why the occasional problem, but it only takes a couple minutes to download and upload the zip file, if you already know what theme you want to use.
I had a question about a WP database update in which I had to do in order to login to my website. I updated my WP but it did cause a few things to do haywire. It is getting resolved today as I comb through my site. Wordpress "database update required" message recieved today?
I'm glad you're getting it worked out.
Just a reminder, make sure you export your pages and posts into a file on a regular basis. I think maybe once a week.
It would be good to know:
What post on what site. I figure you talk about your blogroll when you say 'excerpt'. So, guessing ahead, when you click to read the post, and get the Ooops message, there is something wrong with the URL. In order to find out what, one needs to be able to look at it. You show us the result but nothing to go from there.
John
Haven't had any issues today but I know what you mean. Ever since their update the dashboard is buggy and sometimes the visual editor is weird too. I haven't experienced this issue yet but my best guess would to be trying to clear out your cache and restart your web browser. Or try a different web browser, and if that doesn't work, try disabling javascript for when your own WordPress only. When I did that through Chrome my bugs through WP went down a lot.
Yeah, maybe that will work, but I had the dashboard issue Saturday, so I cleared everything then, and my computer was off yesterday. I'm not sure I know how to disable JavaScript for when I'm working on my site. I'll have to research that. And I have tried 4 different browsers: IE, Firefox, Chrome, & Opera. I have problems with all of them...
If you want to try to disable Javascript in Chrome, go to preferences>show advanced settings (at the bottom)>content settings then click manage exceptions under JavaScript. Type in www dot WordPress dot com and make sure its on block. Worth a shot.

I have built multiple websites, but they all are having the same problem displaying the menu, so I upgrade to WordPress 4.3, and the problems are still there.

This is a Chrome browser bug, known to WP and they work on it. In the meantime, there is a fix
- Go to chrome://flags/#disable-slimming-paint
- Enable the "Disable slimming paint" option.
- Ensure that the "Enable slimming paint" option below it is not turned on.
- Relaunch Chrome.
Enter this in browser bar
chrome://flags/#disable-slimming-paint
John
Ok, I did everything you told me too, but I'm unsure why I need to enter chrome://flags/#disable-slimming-paint in browser bar. Should I disable it, or keep it enabled?
Your first 4 steps only fixes the first problem, but if I disable it the problem comes back.
I tested this on 4 different sites and themes.
This is what I have tried:
1. Enable the "Disable slimming paint" option.
2. Ensure that the "Enable slimming paint" option below it is not turned on.
3. Relaunch Chrome.
(This method fixes my first problem only.)

4. Disable "Disable slimming paint" option.
(This method fixes nothing.)
P.S. I never enabled "Enable slimming paint", that was not in the instructions, if that's what you mean by "Did you make sure both are disabled."

I must be doing something wrong...
I've tried 4 methods:
1. No Go 1, disable both (attached image)
2. No Go 2, disable bottom (attached image)
3. No Go 3, disable top (attached image)
4. No Go 4, enable both (attached image)
No 1 did the trick for me......and I found the solution on 3 different posts on the web (one by Google/Chrome itself)
Oh, don't forget to clear browser cache as well
John
Tried it... I even ran disk defrag and malware & virus scans.
Until I get this fixed, I guess I'll be using Internet Explorer, because Firefox doesn't let me use the editor for some reason :(.
Safari works on windows also. It's faster than Chrome, but i don't like the looks of it
John
I wish I knew! I have not had that , can you run your debugging? Maybe, it is in your computer?
It is a WordPress issue.
I am having the same issues
As are many others.
I have not figured out if it can be resolved.
or if WordPress will address this and fix it.
I'm glad to know I'm not alone, but I hate to see others having this problem. Maybe we can get it resolved fast...
I personally think it's a WordPress problem, but I do not know for sure. It seems to me like they are releasing updates very quickly, maybe a little too quick...
If you find a fix, please let me know.
