How the colour green affects the senses

Green is the most restful of colours on the human eyes and it can improve vision. It relaxes people (depending on the shade) and is a colour used in television studios (green rooms) and in hospitals because it relaxes people.

Being the colour of nature it symbolises freshness, growth and harmony and is associated with having healing power. It is also strongly associated with safety.

Use of green on websites

Green is commonly used on sites when advertising nutritional supplements or any type of green products.

Darker green is seen as conservative and a male colour and is often associated with financial products.

It is amazing how colours can impact different parts of our brains and have subtle impacts on our decision making process. It seems as though looks are important afterall!

Great resource to add BIS, this is something many new people including myself often forget to take it account when designing or picking a color scheme. Thanks

Thanks Craig. I'm probably the opposite of you. I spend a lot of time fussing around with the colours - but generally to my taste, not necessarily that of my visitors.
