How the colour black affects the senses

Black is the color of authority and power but also is a mysterious colour associated with fear and the unknown. it is considered to be a very formal, elegant, and prestigious color and in some cultures is a symbol of grief.. Can evoke a sense of possibilities and potential.

Use of black on websites/brands

Black is a popular colour but need to be used with care. Although black gives the feeling of perspective and depth, but a black background diminishes readability

Black contrasts well with bright colors. Combined with red or orange – other very powerful colors – black gives a very aggressive color scheme.

Great resource to add BIS, this is something many new people including myself often forget to take it account when designing or picking a color scheme. Thanks

Thanks Craig. I'm probably the opposite of you. I spend a lot of time fussing around with the colours - but generally to my taste, not necessarily that of my visitors.
