How the colour blue affects the senses

Blue is the colour that most of us would immediately associate with the sea and the sky and is seen as being good for the mind and body as is slows down our metabolism and has a calming affect. It is associated with tranquility calmness, depth and stability as well as symbolising trust, loyalty and wisdom. Because of feelings of tranquility blue bedrooms are very popular.

As well as being a popular bedroom colour, people are generally more productives in blue rooms and rather bizarelly, studies have shown that weight lifters are able to lift heavier weights in a blue environment. Any idea what the colour of your local gym is? Sometimes people view blue as being cold.

Use of blue on websites

Blue is the pefect colour for promoting any products and services related to cleanliness, air and sky, water or sea.

Recognised as a popular colour with men it is a good colour for promoting high-tech products. Dark blue represents integrity, power, knowledge and seriousness.

Don't use blue to promote food products as the colour supresses the appetite.
