Using the SumoMe Store

Okay, the next step after SumoMe registration (or login) is accessing the SumoMe store. The SumoMe store is where they (SumoMe) keeps all their cool feature sets.

These are like Add-Ons or Apps for your SumoMe install. It's sort of like downloading Apps on your iPhone.

So, initially, you'll be presented with the following:

Step 1: Click the Sumo Store App icon shown above

On the next screen, you'll see the plethora of apps available.

They are presented in sections or categories

  • Email
  • Analytics
  • Sharing
  • Traffic
  • Communicate
  • Upgrades & Services

You will notice that many say FREE just under the App icon.

Also, you can click on any icon to learn more about what that App does. (This is very similar to how we can review WordPress Plug-ins before install).

So, for example, if I click on the Scroll Box app shown in the image above, I'm presented with this description:

And, a bit further down this page I see this:

I can simply click the Back link (upper-left corner) to return to the SumoMe Store OR Click the Free button (upper-right) to install this app.

And, just like WordPress plugins, if you install an app and then decide you don't like it, you can easily uninstall it.

Obviously, there are several Email Subscription apps available within the SumoMe store. But, for those needing both Social Sharing functions AND email, let's begin with setting up the Social Sharing functions first. Because for me, Social Sharing is a fantastic website traffic source!

When I tried to move my icons from the left to above and below the article, I can not. It is saying that I have to upgrade to SharePro to override the default settings.

That's very unusual Suzette. For the test website I created for this training, I used a new install of SumoMe and everything was totally free. Is yours a new install of the SumoMe plugin?

Hi PJ, I went and looked. I have version 1.10. It was updated a month ago. States it is the latest version. BUT it also says that this plugin ha not been tested with my current version of wordpress. That concerns me. Does this mean I have to update my wordpress version or it is a conflict with my theme?

Great tutorial PJ, I've been looking at this one closely and will get it sorted soon. I will also bookmark this as I think I'm going to need the help getting it all up and running :)

One question I have, are you allowed to use the paid functions on multiple sites or do you have to pay for each one?
