SumoMe Sharing Display Rules
While this next option within the SumoMe Sharing settings is totally optional, I felt it necessary to go ahead and introduce you to it, because it's pretty powerful.
This is the only other Sharing option arena that is also free to use.
So, after you have chosen your Setting and Layout from the previous pages within this training AND Saved your options.....
Step 1: Click the Display Rules menu option
After selecting the Display Rules menu option, you'll see this screen:
As you can see within the image above, there are basically two types of Rules you can set: Show Rules and Don't Show Rules
These are the rules you can setup to have the Social sharing icons appear on which pages you want them to and exclude specific pages.
Generally, you will want the social share icons to appear on all pages and posts.
But, you really need not share your Contact page OR perhaps you have an area of posts that are contained within a certain category that you don't want the sharing icons to appear.
Here's how to set that up:
Step 2: Click the Add a Don't Show Rule button:
The initial default parameter for the Don't Show rules is On URL Paths...
The second parameter is Exactly Matching
Then, you can simply provide the category portion of the URL on your website.
Thereby, anything that matches this rule, will not show the social icons. Basically, anything in that category, depending on how your Permalinks are set.
Step 3: Click Save
You can additionally click the Add To This Rule button to implement some other conditional parameters (IF, Then) to apply to this specific rule if necessary.
Subsequently, Click the Save button to save your changes.
Okay, now you know all you need to know about the Sharing app of the very versatile SumoMe plug-in.
Let's move on to the Email functions and how to setup an Email Subscribe or "Opt-in" form on your website to obtain email addresses from your visitor. Email Marketing ROCKS!
One question I have, are you allowed to use the paid functions on multiple sites or do you have to pay for each one?
