Installing the SumoMe Plugin

Step 1: Login to WordPress

Step 2: Click your Plugins menu option and the Add New button as indicated above

Step 3: In the Search box on the right, type in SumoMe (no space)

The SumoMe plugin description will be revealed as indicated above.

Step 4: Click Install Now

After the download is complete. Click the Activate link from the SumoMe options off the Plugins menu.

After you activate the plugin, you'll immediately see the message above. The setup and further configuration of SumoMe is quite unique. Move your mouse pointer up to that area and a wee little crown will appear as such:

This is where everything about SumoMe begins!

Always look for the crown icon when you login to WordPress if you wish to adjust or setup anything SumoMe related.

Step 5: Click the Crown and register for a free SumoMe account:

The above is the Sign Up dialog window for new users.

IF you happen to be running SumoMe on another website, click the wee Log In link (bottom center) and login. You can configure and setup SumoMe for several of your websites with one single SumoMe account. Remember, you're connecting your WordPress site to the SumoMe server - where all your settings and other things are saved and completed.

Okay, so now you have successfully installed and activated the SumoMe plug-in. You have also setup a new SumoMe account. Let's move on!

When I tried to move my icons from the left to above and below the article, I can not. It is saying that I have to upgrade to SharePro to override the default settings.

That's very unusual Suzette. For the test website I created for this training, I used a new install of SumoMe and everything was totally free. Is yours a new install of the SumoMe plugin?

Hi PJ, I went and looked. I have version 1.10. It was updated a month ago. States it is the latest version. BUT it also says that this plugin ha not been tested with my current version of wordpress. That concerns me. Does this mean I have to update my wordpress version or it is a conflict with my theme?

Great tutorial PJ, I've been looking at this one closely and will get it sorted soon. I will also bookmark this as I think I'm going to need the help getting it all up and running :)

One question I have, are you allowed to use the paid functions on multiple sites or do you have to pay for each one?
