Use Your Group for Customer Rewards
This is another good use for a Facebook group…Providing access and membership as a reward for a customer can help in a number of ways both your marketing and business, and also the customers.
If you add an additional channel to get information on rewards, discounts and other such benefits for your customers, you have a better chance that the customers will see and take action. You can also encourage discussion, answer any questions they may have, and ensure that they know what is happening.
Post More In-Depth Questions
Maybe what you are selling is a bit complex in nature – i.e. perhaps a tool for social posting or maybe a service with a process that is quite involved. A Facebook Group will give you a chance to drill down with answers to questions, and these answers will be available to all members.
It is a cross between a blog post and forum type website…Comments and shares can yield more engagement and understanding. This can also replace a forum in many cases and because of the community atmosphere, be more effective. Facebook is a platform where people are on anyway, so it is more convenient as well.
Add Specific and Focused Content
Maybe your Group will have a specific focus, i.e. industry news where members can discuss and learn from one another. This group may be about MORE than your content or service, but by building a platform like this, you can position yourself as an authority and the value your platform can add with discussions only happening on YOUR Group make you special. Once in a while you can still recommend your own products or services too.
Promote and Report On Events
When you sponsor an event locally or for niche members, a good way to keep the audience engaged and primed for the next one is to create a Facebook Group and add all participants…Members will see the latest updates on the last event and also be aware of future events, and chime in with their own observations as well.
Consistently Add More Value
Remember that you are using the Facebook Group to build a special focused community by adding value for the members. This needs to be the focus over selling. Members want interesting and relevant discussions. A soft sell approach is advised.
This means that while you can promote, you must do it subtly, and not in an ‘In your face’ manner. Better to add content, promote discussion, invite influencers to guest post to your Group, share your expertise, and help with problems…People will reciprocate with lots of love and engagement, good things indeed.
If You Want to Sell Products
Perhaps you want to have a Facebook Group specifically to sell something. This is now possible and you can create a ‘For Sale’ group…If you look you will see there is an option for your to “sell something” that has been added. I think there are better formats for this, but I have seen some that are doing well, i.e. Musos in Dubai have such a group for buying and selling used musical instruments and related gear. It is popular and works for them well.
