HOW TO JOIN NICHE RELATED FACEBOOK GROUPS

You can do a search from within your own Facebook account. Below see a screenshot of my page, and we will walk through the process I use to find good Groups to join…

It starts here, using the search window from Facebook...

In my case, I am going to be looking for Facebook Groups that deal with e-commerce.

We are opening a membership site supporting e-commerce and e-stores and other forms of such sales in the very near future that will offer services in this online market segment, so I want to see what is out there already...

Here is what I get when I do a search:

Once you have looked at the different options, as in going to the group page (if open) and seeing what is offered, plus look at the size and focus in more detail, select the ones that fit what your overall goals are, and ask to join…

Here is where you do that…

You will see that Facebook will also suggest groups that are related too. Decide on which to join, and then start visiting these groups to see what is going on in them.

Here is an example of what they suggest for me (these are on the right side of your timeline on Facebook, and the groups show based on your activity and engagements):

I would stay away from groups that allow promotions regularly, because there is more spam on these sites, and your messages will get lost (and people tend to get tired of this and the group is a waste then)…

So once you have some groups that are related to your coming Group, you can start seeing what the needs are, note the members that are main players, what the focus is for the members, and generally over time you will have an idea of how your Group can fill in any voids in what Groups are offering…

Now we will cover how to get the most out of your membership! ==>

Nice! I'm a member of way too many groups, and I've found that telling my news feed to show me "most recent" really keeps me in tune with what's being posted in groups.
