3. Custom Ads - Setting Them Up
So you are now a whiz at Recommended Ads and Search Ads in your Amazon Native Shopping Ads experience. Let's look at how to set up Custom Ads.
Some Points to Remember:
These ads focus on specific products that you want to sell via Amazon. They are your choice so you have to be confident in their quality. Product knowledge will be crucial so that your niche authority isn't compromised. In addition to that, you will need to check regularly that these products are still in stock so that a potential customer isn't disappointed. So there are some cons to Custom Ads.
The pros are, of course, you have total control in what you are selling. They will be products you have a passion about. Here is how to set them up.
First, open the Custom Ad set-up page.
You will note from the above (green arrow) that I have selected the tracking code, "australiancoffee-20" for this campaign. Obviously, if you are setting up all three types of ads, then you will need a new tracking code for these Custom Ads.
The red arrow points to the Amazon category that you are selecting your products from. It is important to put in the appropriate keywords for your search. When the results are in, you need to select a minimum of 4 products (yellow circle). Note the following image:
As you can see, all you have to do is click the "Add" button and your products are custom selected for your shop.
As we have done on the previous styles, we need to check that "Responsive Ad Size" is checked, switch on the "Search Bar" and "Edit the Title". The green arrow above shows the individual product codes that you have selected, rather than a more broader search parameter.
What's left to do with the Custom Ads? "Highlight Ad" code, then copy and paste. Below are the results of our Custom Ad creation.
Now, of course, if you have changed your mind about a product, then just click the "Delete" button next to the product and, hey presto, it is no longer in your shop.
Now you are, with a little practice, the Amazon Native Shopping Ads guru. We have covered how to set up each style of ad. The next page discusses our post/page editing.
It seems I am the only one having this issue. I have tried it with other themes on my test site to see if it was an issue with my theme, but they didn't show up there either.
Does anyone have any idea why I cannot get amazon native ads to show up on my site?
(yes, I am inserting the code in the text editor, but when I switch to visual or preview the post, there is nothing there. Just a blank line).
