I know of someone who would like to write history articles. Where do writers go to be found?

You can go to Fiver.com, Freelancer.com, and Upwork.com

Danny

Hi - I am a freelance writer. It is a difficult industry to break into. As a beginner, prepared to accept low pay for experience, they can advertise their services on the likes of Fiverr or look for work on Freelancer.com. If they are absolutely confident in their ability to write articles using perfect spelling and grammatical rules, they could try and sell articles on Constant Content. They could join agencies such as Textbroker or Copify, but they would need to pass tests firsts.

Thanks!

One way is to post a gig on Fiverr.

Thanks, Phil.

Hey Theresa,

Google searching "hire writers for health post" (without the quotation marks of course) inserting your niche where I used "health" in my example, will provide you with some suggestions.

Also, Jerry wrote an interesting blog about training that he created that might be your best bet: Hope you find this helpful.

Great, thank you.

I have changed my settings and changed my theme but I cannot get my homepage to do what I want. I would like people to easily see what articles are available to select. Instead

In what way do you want "people to easily see what articles are available to select. "? In an ideal situation, how would you achieve this? By category? By tag? By a search box?

By "homepage" do you mean the main content or the side panels? or the header menu?

It sounds like you should categorize (and optionally) tag your articles and then use Appearance -> Widgets or Appearance -> Menus to create clickable links to specific content.

On my site I do almost all of those for instance, I have widget called "Must read posts" that I created via Appearance -> Widgets ... in that widget, I put links to certain pages and posts.

In Appearance -> Menus, I defined what I wanted to show in each of the menus.

Thanks for the input. I think I'm catching on. I didn't realize that I had to manually add the "read more" into each post in order to break it up. I have that straightened out now. I like your "must read" idea. I may incorporate that when I get more posts.

Mostly, I guess my frustration comes from seeing a sample theme, downloading it and then not being able to make mine look like the example.

I'm getting closer!

I dont manually add the "read more" into each post to break it up... the theme does that.

Regarding not being able to get your theme to look like the sample, most paid theme authors offer support. But most of the time, you just have to look into the Appearance section and understand how to configure the widgets and menus to get the look you want.

Thank you. I am making good progress. Yesterday, I stumbled upon a beautiful website that I am going to follow and try to model mine after. Overall, it's pleasant work.

Hey Theresa,

Here is a tutorial to help you solve this issue: Hope you find this helpful.

You can set your home page to be a static page and many themes even offer a homepage template to use for that purpose.

Maybe that's what I need. I wish I could find examples to know for sure. I'll play with that angle. Thank you.

I use the static option on both my sites.

If there is no setting in the theme you can try in the WordPress admin. Under the dashboard click Setting / Read. You have a choice of how many posts are displayed and if it is displayed in full or summary.

Maybe it's a glitch in my theme. I tried to display summary and updated it, but nothing changed. Thank you.

Hi Theresa, this video will resolve your problem:

I am trying to avoid creating too many product links in my articles. I would like to be able to have links in each article that would lead to an appropriate page(s) for shoppin

I enjoyed using Ecwid's plugin - https://www.ecwid.com/

If you look through the features, you see that you can build a shop in one place and deploy it in many places including your blog - https://www.ecwid.com/features

Cool! Thanks!

HI Theresa,

You might want to consider something like Woocommerce. It's a free plugin that is made for Wordpress. It gives you the convenience of having a shop page with all your products, and you enter products as if you were creating new posts only much easier. I use it, and I like it. The only problem that I have is that WA apparently doesn't enable datafeed applications to auto import images from your affiliate merchants to auto-populate your store. Its still easier than placing product links all over your site. But that's just my opinion. Best of luck.

Ray

Thanks so much for this information. I have been to your Chocolate Store and wondered how you made it look so professional. I will look into Woocommerce.
Have a great weekend!
Theresa

Ideally, you should build them as landing pages.

Have a menu item SHOP HERE which lists them all.

Then it's simply a matter of including the appropriate link in each article you write.

Let me know if you need more detail on how to do any of this.

Thanks, Phil. I think that's good to get me started. I'll let you know if I get stuck. I appreciate your help.
