Did you know that Emotions affect the organs?

Last Update: March 15, 2018

Emotions and Organs

The body reacts to different Emotions with feelings. Emotions described are metaphysical experience paralleled by a psychological process and by biological responses. The Traditional Chinese medicine sees seven emotions. Anger, Joy, Grief, Pensiveness, Anxiety, Fear and Fright. It might be a surprise that each emotion affects the health of an organ differently according to the Shen -Nong. According to David Osborne, the greek medicine is the root of traditional western medicine, and it also takes into consideration the effect of emotions on the organs. Organs play a significant role in the health of your expressions in emotions.

Here is an excellent example: Most alcoholics are angry and have a short temper. Anger correlates with the liver. Most alcoholics have a liver that is taxed and is crying out for help.
People what cannot express themselves and worry too much have or accumulate stomach ulcers.

We suspect that the organs play a vital part in our emotions as we can sometimes feel the different reactions and emotions. We also have a few sayings like

" cold hands, warm heart",

What the eye does not see, the heart does not grieve over

Listen to your gut feeling,
It turns my stomach around,

and so on just to mention a few

THE BOTTOM LINE: Understand what is going on in your body and with your nervous system internally. It will help you in the long run.

Reboot your body with self-care rituals like drinking hot water ( not too hot drinkable) daily. The best time to drink hot water is in the morning on an empty stomach and throughout the day.

Drinking hot water temporarily begins to raise your internal body temperature. When you drink hot water, your body’s endocrine system activates, and you start to sweat. While sweating might be uncomfortable, it’s an essential part of getting rid of toxins and irritants that you been exposed to in your environment.

Meditation is another form of calming, getting focused and centred.

Value your health don't wait until you get sick to be reminded that health is something no money in the world can buy.

To keep the body in good health is a duty... otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear. (Buddha)

I guess it depends on the Doctor. In Germany I have seen the trend now that medical doctors combine natural healing, homeopathy and spiritual healing. I went to a Ayurveda seminar in Summer last year out of 100 attendee 45 were medical doctors from Germany. That caught me by surprise..
Have a great Sunday

Hi Sylvia,

Great article. My best friend suffers from a debiliating auto immune illness. She remains very aware now of the damage stress causes and will often point out that same fact to us her friends when she thinks we're not taking care of ourselves in proper stress management.

Hi Randi
I agree with your friend. She is a wise person.
It is a fact that Stress is the number one killer now. Even children suffer from stress. A lot of pressure we create for ourselves. When parents are stressed, the kids sense the vibes and feel themselves the pressure and the stress.
You have a great friend she cares for her friends dearly.

Hi Oneil
You will be surprised how many people have ulcers, and they don't realise it. In TCM we say we look for the cause and the root, not only for the symptoms.
Thanks for stopping by.

A man will never be able to understand emotions and feelings on a level like a woman can. There's just no comparison. Thank you Sylvia for commenting on emotions and feelings.

Hello Dr Tad
I agree with you partly, all depends on the person itself, how much they are in tune with themselves.
I think it does not matter man or woman. Deep in our subconscious mind we all know, the only difference is we listen to it or we don't.

Thank you, great article. I have studied this a bit myself and have seen so many examples. I struggle with the fear one and do have some kidney issues. I like warm water in the mornings with Lemon essential oil. Part of my kidney cleanse I am on for me is the meditation part and trying to let go of the things that cause fear in me.

Hello Michelle
I find it always amazing how our Body reacts to certain things.
I use the lemon essential oil for my salads.
I love meditation and I can recommend a good one from Wayne Dyer "I am that I am" I think this is a very powerful meditation.

Thank you Sylvia. I've never seen reactions to emotions shown like that. But, I can certainly relate to one of them.

Hello Valerie
Often we never make a connection.
When I did my TCM Certificate, it was part of our program.
It opens my eyes to be more aware of my emotions.
Whenever we undergo a problem, our body reacts to it, and the organs are the ones who are affected. If that continues over a period that emotion corresponds with the organ causes than a chronic disease triggered by the slightest emotion.

Hi Sylvia

We were just last night talking about this while visiting friends, and how our emotions and attitudes have an influence on our bodies.

Here are two links that have very interesting information regarding this:
http://www.enlightenedfeelings.com/body.html#emotions chart
http://www.enlightenedfeelings.com/symptoms.html

Let's try to have the correct emotions, to attract what we want to our businesses as well (Law of Attraction).

Wishing you all of the very best!

Hello Sharley
Thanks for the links, and yes not alone our attitudes influence us also the reactions of others will affect us. We might not see it first, but we will be feeling it after a while. Automatically you adjust the Emotions accordingly.
Do you know that having back problems are a sign of financial instability it comes with the worry of not having enough money?
Or having knee problems is a sign of inflexibility of letting go. Not wanting to move forward and holding on to the past.
The aches and pains are so much in line with our emotions. We just don't think twice about it. Many times we never make a connection.
Thanks for your insights
Cheers Sylvia

I am a big fan of Louise L. Hay books, and it's a great loss for humanity she died last year. The body, mind, and soul is a oneness, and effects all parts when love and harmony are confused.

Hi Loes
I am a big fan of Louise Hay too, especially her meditations they are so down to earth. Louise Hay moved on to something new and exciting. She left a big footprint in peoples life.
I love her healing with the mirror. She talks to the mirror like a friend. She accomplished such a great relationship with herself.
