Unlocking the Full Potential of ChatGPT to Help with Our Sites

What an Incredible tool Chatgpt is when you delve into it! I already thought it was interesting but now I'm beginning to think it's waaay more useful that I'd realised.

FYI I choose NOT to use chat to actually write my posts, but I do use it as an incredible resource for other things. And I will use it to help me generate information for my posts.

Here are 7 uses for chatgpt which I can think of right now, though I’m sure there are lots and lots more. If you have other uses please share them in the comments too!

I’m so excited by some of these uses for Chatgpt!

The first two are more obvious uses:

1. Title Help: input a title you’re thinking of using and ask for 20 alternative titles. You can specify the length and the keyword you want to include in it.

The suggestions will highlight different ways of thinking about your title and you can usually either find one you like, or just grab and use some individual words which come from chat but improve your original idea.

If none of the titles are any good, tell chat why and ask for more again. Sometimes I’ve had to say, ‘but those titles don’t include the keyword which I specified’, and then chat will apologise and run it again. Haha.

2. Brainstorm for topic ideas by asking for questions people might ask around your chosen keyword - though I find they often come back too mainstream for my site at the moment. But still worth doing just for generating ideas.

Now this is where I started getting very excited!

3. Put in the main url of your site and ask chat to tell you about the site. You’ll get an insight into how a visitor may view your site. It also shows what type of post is dominant.

You can ask about different categories, niches etc.

4. Next, ask chat specific questions: for example: Are there any topic gaps in this website? Or - Can you suggest further topics that this site could have? Is the SEO ok? Etc.

5. Ask chat for suggestions for improvements it can make for the site. For my site it suggested using more infographics, which is so cool; I immediately hopped over to Canva and published a couple of infographics lol!

6. Paste the url of your just-published article into Chatgpt and ask for an article review. Next ask whether the article is complete or whether there's any missing information in the article. You can ask any questions, for example how well the article is written. . . etc.

And the Best Yet . . .Your Own Private tutor.

7. Use chatgpt as your own private teacher for things you don’t understand yet about web building, blogging, marketing etc.

For example, when you get a site-audit back from ahrefs or wherever, you might find something you don’t really understand. Past it into Chat and ask for clarification.

For example my audit came back with a very long URL with extra info, and the report said ‘duplicate’.

So I pasted it into chat and asked what it meant. Et voila! A complete explanation and breakdown of the url! It turns out the duplicate content was from my email newsletter . . . .

The possibilities are endless. Have a doubt? Ask chatgpt!

Edit: of course don't believe everything it tells you and remember that chatgpt isn't perfect by any means. Sometimes it will randomly answer with some totally incorrect stuff.
