Title Tag Length & How Google Will Display It
Hi Folks
A wee quickie blog. More a piece of information about and a link to a tool I found and I want to pass it on.
This is mainly because of a blog I published on Titles and Permalinks last week.

Since then I have been asked a few times what is the recommended length of a title before it is chopped off by the search engines. Anyone asking this question would of course receive more than one reply because of the Pixels involved that make up the actual words.
However there is a tool that will show you what a search engine sees and does with long titles.
There you go and give it a go. At the very least it will give you an idea how short or long you should keep your Post Titles. There are lots of useful links on the page as well as detailed explanations of the Title Tag. Take the time to read them.

Hello Jeff. There are lots of web pages and blogs within WA giving you all sorts of info so I'm not surprised you would have seen something similar before.
However this is a tool I came across and it does fit in nicely with my previous blog on titles and permalinks.

Thank you Robert, this tool will be very helpful going forward. I tend to write titles that are too long, so this will help me stick to the words that are important for blog post and page titles. :-)

Its a good toll Jessica and gives you a good idea what your potential customers will see.
Of course however long your title is if you read my other blog mentioned above you can still have a long title at the top of your post after you have chopped it in the permalink box.

Yes, it is 11:49. I finished the post hours ago. I was just cleaning the fish tank! I had a day of rest finally and slept all afternoon so I am good!
