5 Parts Of A Website Search Engines Display
Hello Folks, it’s me again
Only a few days ago I published a blog - (Optimizing Your Meta Tag For High Search Engine Ranking) https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/robert-a/blog/opti...
Since then I have had loads of messages from members to say they are still not quite sure what most of it means.
Therefore below is a list that defines the five parts of a Website that search engines display in the search results paragraph of your ranking.
1. Page Title - The page title text is located between the open and close <title> tags within the <header> tags. If the title does not exist or is less than eight characters, the URL is used in place of the title. The page title is the first line of text that people see when viewing the search results paragraph and is formatted with a link to the Web site. Each Web page should have a different page title. - Maximum length is 100 characters.
2. Meta Description - The meta description tag describes the content of the Web page. The meta description tag is located within within the <header> tags and formatted as follows:
<meta name="description" content="Describe your Web page here.">
Each Web page should have a different meta description tag. - Maximum length is 150 characters.
3. Body Text - The body text contains the first 300 characters found on the website. Active Search Results stores the first 1,000 characters of the website and uses the first 1,000 characters in its indices to provide search results.
4. Meta Keywords - The meta keywords tag provides to the search engine words to index the site. Web searchers will type in words to search on and the closer those words are to the meta keywords on the Web page, the higher the ranking will be for that Web page. - Maximum length is 100 characters.
5. Page URL - The Web site's URL is displayed as the last line of the search results paragraph to make it clear where the title points to.
You can change the way that your website's search results paragraph is displayed to Web searchers by making changes to your Website's data as described above.
After making your changes, re-submit your site in Webmaster Tools. Within 24 hours your site will be re-indexed with the new changes.
Now I hope all is clear for everyone who asked. Hope so because I have made it as clear as I possibly can. Please leave loads of comments to tell me this is so.
Quick Recap - Search engines spiders visit Websites and index five different data parts of those sites. The five parts are then displayed in the search results page as a search results paragraph.
Thank you and have a nice day.

Oh Robert! It's brill! Thank you! If I don't get ranked after putting this into practice there's something seriously wrong with my website. I've been using the key word and description section but to be honest, didn't really understand what I was doing until I read that post. It's helped tremendously. Maybe put into a training post...maybe : )
Hello Claire. I do my humble best and glad to help you out.
I saw you visited my site and I replied to your comment, thanks for that all comments good or bad are appreciated and I do reply to every one no matter how long it takes me.
By the way its frowned upon here within WA if you use duplicate content within WA and again on your website or vice versa. So I think a training blog will be a no no.
Now you have my info under your belt I'm sure you site will give you a good return on all your hard work.
Have a great day.
Robert
Oh, thanks for that. Actually, I read the blog after I suggested the training idea : ) I've just been to my website and implemented the info you've shared on all of my posts and pages. I'll give it a few days before I look to see if I'm ranked. Thanks again. Have a great day and a fab weekend : )
Great and I'm sure you will see an improvement.
Is 'Fab' the new 'In Word'?
My sister says it a lot.
You have the most enjoyable weekend as well.
Now I'm off for the night.
Robert
Hi Robert. don't know if it's the inword at the mo'. I've been using it since......... maybe it's enjoying an encore : )
Thank you for getting back to me Claire.
I have the link in my blog now so its available to everyone who takes the time to read it.
Also you are not supposed to have the same content on your blog within WA as your site so a link is the next best thing.
have a good day.
Robert
Thank you for this information. I do believe another layer of the process is out of the way. Another way of explaining always helps.

Very good Robert. This is a keeper. I will read it from time to time as I create a post or page. Thanks
Thank you Larry and the same answer to you, and thank you for your comment.
I've uploaded a pic so you can see something of what I mean in this blog. You will probably have to enlarge it as the WA system isn't all that great at showing pics as they should be.
Have a nice day.
Robert
If the pic isn't legible go to this page where you can see it and of course my article.
