About Rileyba
Joined July 2016
I went to school for Glass Engineering and Science, received my Bachelors and went onto Grad school for Materials Science. I got my 1st job before defending my Masters and never ended up finishing it.

I worked for about 4years as a Raw Material Engineer at a fortune 500 company. I was not happy in this line of work and ended up leaving to pursue an opportunity in Brewing Beer.

After brewing at a local brewery as well as bar tending at a couple of local establishments I realized that I was not getting much traction and my best option would be to own my own business.

To increase my funds I decided to get back into the technical world. I then took a job overseas in the Netherlands as a Quality Manager.

As my wife came with me we quickly realized that she would be living a very lonely life in that situation (I would often times work 12-14 hour days).
My wife got a hold of her previous employer (a local candy company) and she was offered her job back!!

Since then, we have moved back to the U. S. and started a family!!! I am currently a stay at home father to 2 beautiful twin girls (5. 5 months old).

It is tough raising twins!!!
I still want to earn some money and contribute to the family financially but my time is limited now. I am a hard worker and I am hoping to find success through WA!!!

I would be happy earning at least $500 per month part time. I would be ecstatic earning $3,000 per month! I am will to invest as much time as required to achieve this although I can only invest chunks of time here and there while raising my twin girls.

That's definitely attainable. Of course the more time you put in, the better. The great thing about it for someone in your position, that's obviously going to have time constraints and periods of time where you're outright unable to work on things, is that the work you do isn't going anywhere and can continue to earn. Good luck reaching you goals!

So awesome Brian, I know from experience that goals are what lead us to success. Work relentlessly in pursuit of these goals and they CAN and WILL happen.

In fact, wipe failure out of your mind right now. It simply won't happen. You have too much help, support and an entire community of help behind you to ever let that happen :)

If you need anything going forward, just let me known and I will be happy to give you a hand.

I like your goals and dedication Riley. We may have different reasons for our approach but we have the same attitude - we'll get there:).

I hope things are going well for you, the first training course should be giving you a good idea of what's available here. Don't be afraid to ask questions! Good luck.

Thanks, I was just responding to Kyle on his message about niches.
I am not sure what a good niche would be but I do enjoy my fantasy books and of course my experience/knowledge about beer makes that attractive as well.

Thanks for the support!

Anything you're passionate about can definitely work. Beer might be a little hard, given the way it's controlled and sold, but even then, sub niches such as home brewing or memorabilia etc. are probably quite viable. Choosing a niche is definitely a challenge, I changed myself a couple times and still think about other ones.

There's an audience for pretty much everything, but there's no question that some things are going to be a lot harder to monetize than others and might require getting creative.

There's really no wrong choice though, if it's a topic that interests you.

Good luck! Hope you settle on one you're happy with.

Thanks for the great insight!
I had the same concerns around beer and was planning on focusing more on home brewing.

Although I think that concept could work out really well too I have decided to start my 1st attempt by focusing on my favorite fantasy books.

Thanks again and we will see how things work out with the books concept for now ;)

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Thanks, I have no clue what would be best for a niche.
I was thinking of fantasy books or possibly something beer related.
There are just so many options but I am not sure what would be best.

A niche can honestly be anything. There are 3 billion people online and they are have lots of room for creating a substantial business within them.

When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)

Sounds great and thanks for the support!!!

I have decided that "I want to help people that are looking for a new fantasy book to read."

In the past I have searched for other books that may be similar to one that I just finished.

I want to share what books I found enjoyable and I hope that others can find new stories to read based on similarities in our taste in authors/stories.

I hope this sounds reasonable...I have other ideas but I thought this would be a good concept for my 1st attempt (fairly simple and straightforward).

Thanks again!

Hi Kyle!

I am trying to finish up lesson 5 currently. I just wanted to confirm something about plugins.

In your video walk through you discuss 3 plugins (All in one SEO Pack, Exclude pages from Navigation and WP-Spam Shield).

In the written lesson you discuss 3 plugins as well (All in one SEO Pack, Exclude pages from Navigation and Akismet).

When I enter my back office I see 2 plugins installed (All in one SEO Pack, Exclude pages from Navigation). I do not see the Spam Shield.

Are there suppose to be 3 plugins present or is the 3rd plugin only for premium members? I am just curious if perhaps I went wrong somehow...

I am planning to upgrade for at least 1 month to try it out I just have not yet.

Thanks in advance for the clarification!

I am actually updating the training this week, these plugins have been updated as we have move to a much more advanced and secure hosting environment here that no longer requires spam plugins. You can ready about the launch of that here, but as I said, I am going to be updating all the training to reflect these updates this week. :)
