Wealthy Affiliate Has a Flaw!

I came to this conclusion today. Wealthy Affiliate has a flaw! I call it the unbalanced unhealthy WA lifestyle. You devote most of your time to WA and helping others.

Being a member of WA requires a lot of attention and effort if you want to start a successful online business. The same as with any other business you want to start. The only difference is you can do it in the comfort of your own home and with a lot less start-up costs :)

Don't get me wrong, I think WA is the best, but you have to live a balanced life. I have seen a couple of members leaving because they feel WA takes up to much of their time and they struggle to juggle between a job and WA. They also battle to get their website going.

The secret is you have to keep the balance.

There are 5 main categories (in order of importance):

1. Get Enough Rest

Give your brain a break. If you are tired, you cannot think clearly and will also become irritated and frustrated. This is bad for the people around you and your content writing. This is where you have to be selfish. Insist to get rest and clear your mind. It will be for everyone's benefit.

2. Your Personal Life

Nothing is more important than your health, family and friends. Even if you are a complete loner, you still need to look after your health. Make sure you don't get lost in the cyber world and block everything else out.

This can have devastating effects if not looked after properly.

Excersise regularly and interact / give attention to those close to you.

3. Your 9-5 Job

Never mix business and pleasure. Keep WA out of your job and vice versa. You still have a reputation to uphold and a job to do. It does not matter how much you hate it, you should still have the pride to be the best you can in whatever you do.

4. Your Website/s

Create your website and follow the training step-by-step. Don't get distracted and ask plenty of questions if you get stuck. Don't get ahead of the training.

I am with WA now for 6 months and have not even set up my social network links to my website. Why you may ask? Because I have not done the training yet. Yes, I can ask the community and do it now, but following the training is more important.

Nothing is chasing you. Don't feel that you are not making progress fast enough. Whether you take a month or a year or more to finish your website, in the end you will have a properly well functioned website. It is more than you have now.

This should feel like a hobby and not a frustration and irritation in your life. Yes I know you pay a monthly / yearly premium and want to make your money back as soon as possible, but I suggest you don't think about it that way. Think about all the other things you waste your money every month on and you know you are not going to get it back!

At least with WA you gain a lot of invaluable knowledge and meet very knowledgeable and interesting people from all walks of life.

5. The WA Community

I love the WA community. I like to read interesting posts, follow interesting people and comment where I can. I love to write a post from time to time and ask questions. I receive more than 100 Emails a day and I have only a small following in comparison to other members.

If you are not careful the WA Community can keep you busy for hours every day.

There is also your WA rank to look after. This can be a big distraction in itself. If you are new and need to work on your website, I suggest you don't even worry about it. "Whatever will be will be" is a good saying when it comes to your rank. There are more important things to consider.

The WA community needs your expertise, posts, comments and likes, but they also need to see you become successful and does not want to see you quit or leave because you did not spend enough time on creating your website.

My Conclusion

Live a balanced life here at WA. No 1 to 3 is the most important. If you do not get to no 4 and 5 for a day or two, don't feel discouraged, Tomorrow is another day!

Enjoy what you do and always respect other people, their feelings and property and you will see the difference it will make in your life.
