On Day 8 of 12 Days of Abundant Thinking, we examine planning for abundance.

Failure to adequately plan for business success is listed as one of the top ten reasons for business failure.The well known adage, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail” is just as true for planning a lifetime of financial abundance as it is for planning for a successful business. Once you have researched your business idea and decided upon your website niche, the next most important step to take is to do some planning for the abundance you want it to bring to you.

The exercise of writing a business plan forces you to think more deeply and strategize about how you will make money, how you will market, how you will gain a competitive advantage and how you will get and maintain lifetime customers with your online business. No amount of wishing, praying and finger crossing will steer you toward business success as surely as writing a business plan.

Once your thoughts are organized and written down on paper, you will have an excellent reference guide to help you maintain focus as your online business develops. Trust me, as time passes, it is easy to lose focus and fail to accomplish your primary objectives.Having a written business plan will help you to get on track and stay on track.

I’m a big believer in keeping things simple.The simpler it is, the easier it is to accomplish. You don’t need a big business plan to build a successful online business but you do need to think through a few basic questions like the ones that follow:

1)What is my vision for creating lifetime abundance? (What would I like to be, do and have?)

2)What are my objectives and what is the best way for me to accomplish my objectives? (What is my strategy?)

3)What resources, learning and people do I need to accomplish my objectives for abundance? (How will I leverage my way toward success?)

4)What is my niche? How profitable is my niche? (Will my niche support my vision? How will I make money?)

5)Who is my customer? What are his/her needs? (What is their urgent pain or burning desire?)

6)What do my primary competitors offer that I don’t? (How can I compete or co-compete more effectively in the market place?)

7)What can I offer my customers that is unique? (What advantages can I offer to my customers?)

8)How will I track my progress?(What are my benchmarks for success?)

Notice, the focus here is not on pushing yourself to get money.The focus is on creating a vision for a successful outcome. The clearer you become on your vision, the easier it will be to pull that vision toward you and for your vision to pull you toward it. In other words, the more natural it will feel. The way you will realize the natural pull is through the purposeful daily action steps you take.

Having a clear vision will help you stay 99% focused on being in and responding appropriately to the present. By taking time to plan you will be able to remove yourself from emotional distracters and respond to opportunities and challenges as they arrive.

Your plan for each present day will become clearer as you take purposeful, planned steps.The more focused you become on the present, the less time you will spend worrying about the future. Just write your vision and make it very plain.

Don’t labor too much on your plan. It will grow over time as you begin to take purposeful action steps.

Thinking abundantly helps me to plan strategically for my lifestyle of abundance.

I have developed a clear strategic plan to arrive at my desired outcomes.

If my strategies aren’t working, I adapt and change my strategies.

I am course-correcting all the time to ensure that I will arrive at my desired outcomes.

I am learning how to sacrifice to invest in things that increase in value over time.

I am learning how to resist spending money on things that decrease in value over time.

I spend my time and my dollars wisely.

I invest in things that are stable and powerful with wealth-accumulating rates of return.

I pursue worthwhile endeavors in my life and I expect to be rewarded accordingly.

Whatever I put my hands to do prospers me abundantly.
