I am running Pigeon Pack on one site and it works fine. I cannot find a plugin that works with theme Twenty Sixteen on my second site. I assume the theme is the difference. Can
sorry I haven't a clue what you mean by Pigeon Pack.
If you say what it is exactly I might be able to help.
Robert
Pigeon Pack is a plug-in which sends a notification to subscribers that new content has been posted. It works on one site and not the other. I have tried several plug-ins which are supposed to generate notifications but none work properly on the site using the Twenty Sixteen theme. Most generate nothing and some produce a garbled, chopped up and totally unacceptable email notification. I just need one that works properly. Any suggestions.
Ok, I would try SumoMe, a lot of the members have this and say its quite good.
The best person to ask about it is Paul -

I am using the Pigeon Pack plugin to send out email notifications of new postings on two websites. It is working fine on one but the other will not generate any emails. They ar
You need to be careful sending out multiple emails from your own website, it's very easy to end up getting your domain blacklisted from services like SpamCop and Barracuda.
That's why the majority of members use mail services like AWeber, Mailchimp, etc.
You can get free starter trials of 100 email addresses from MadMimi https://madmimi.com/service_agreements/signup/89 or 1000 from MailerLite https://www.mailerlite.com/signup
I don't think that is an issue as the emails are only going to subscribers who have signed up for them. Am I wrong? It is a very small list so far.
I just want to figure out why it works on one site but not the other.

If I purchase a WA site domain and subsequently leave WA, does my domain continue to be hosted by WA? Or can I take it to another webhosting service?
Well, after all the response I got to my question, it looks like staying with Wa and purchasing a domain name is the best way to go. Thanks for the responses.
OK, my website goes with me. But, does that mean just the Domain name or does all content on the site move as well.
So, am I understanding that WA will only host sites for Premium Members? That seems a bit short-sighted if they will really want to grow as a web hosting service. Or maybe they just want to double dip on their members. Get a membership fee on top of the hosting fee, or vice-a-versa.
Hosting is included for Premium Members who own their own domains...not just the SiteRubix websites.
I guess I am just not understanding how domains work. If I pay 13.99 to WA for my own domain, they will host it. But if I pay some other web hosting service what ever their fee is and then transfer that domain to WA, they will host it for free under my Premium membership? But I still pay the service I purchased it from?
The 13.99 or whatever price paid is the cost of the domain NAME only.
The domain STILL has to be hosted.
Yes, WA will host FREE for Premium Members.
The 13.99 or whatever price you paid for your domain name will be an annual fee.
Other hosts will charge a separate fee for hosting.
WA does not charge for hosting...it is FREE.
Hey, I just looked at your website and it belongs to WA
You can purchase your own domain and move your SiteRubix.
Then, when you leave, you can take it with you.
Right now, WA owns http://homebrewguru.siterubix.com/.
OK, one final question. If I purchase a domain name from say GoDaddy or Site Builder or whoever, I would still have to pay a hosting fee for some provider to host the site. Right?
Like Marion said, your domain name is yours and belongs to you, however you would have to change hosting providers as WA would no longer host your site. Luckily WA give you a 30 day window to change your hosting providers from the day you leave WA.
I'm saying this from personal experience as I did cancel my premium membership last year.
Hope that helps
Yes I'm back as a premium member. I knew I always wanted to come back, I just wasn't in the right frame of mind before and wasn't financially able to commit. But after working for a few months and being more stable i finally decided to resubscribe.
I'm so glad I made that decision, and my mindset is much better. I don't see the payment as a cost, I just see it as an investment into my future, and I upgraded to yearly, so I'm more serious than ever now!
Steph :)
Your purchased domain name would belong to you and you can have it hosted anywhere else. WA only hosts sites for premium members.
No, it doesn’t. In order for your domain to be live, it needs to have a hosting. Since you’re leaving and no longer paying for the premium membership that means WA can no longer host your domain. You need to move it to a new hosting company.

If I move to a new WA Domain do my affiliates automatically move with my site or do i need to provide new domain info to affiliates?
What do you mean by affiliates? Your referrals? As long as your links are the same, yes, but unless you have a redirect that takes them to your new domain, you'll basically be restarting as far as traffic goes (From what I've read).
I have affiliate advertisers on my siterubix sites. Click on their ads, it takes users to their site and I get a commission from any sales generated. Does the domain information associated with my affiliate ID move with site?
Yes, I understand now. I also use affiliate links on my website. If you gave Amazon (Or any other affiliate programs) one domain name, you will likely have to go and add another in their respective affiliate program dashboards. I know that Amazon, at least, allows you to add multiple sites and multiple tracking IDs.
However, I don't know whether or not this is mandatory - I just know it's something Amazon allows you to do. I'm sure your current affiliate links will still work on your new site, you just won't have the new domain registered under a given tracking ID or affiliate ID. Shouldn't make a difference commission-wise, but if you're OCD about stuff like that, it's probably best to go in and add your new domain name if possible.
Someone else will have to give you a more definite answer, this is only my thoughts on the matter due to my experiences with Amazon thus far.
