I have seen some training and thought about adjusting some things at the site but I'm achieving a 20% click thru rate and wondering if I should adjust anything or am I about wer

I'd annotate and add more content and check the rate 3 days to a week later. Then do another adjustment....and see again. Jay went through this his conversion seminar. ^_~

Thanks for the comment. Just wanted to ask other WA members where they were at and goals. Maybe they were doing something different than I was

Does analytic s tell you the CTR? I just did a manual from when I switched over from siterubix to my own domain. From 20th Aug to 5th sept. Got 145 visitors and on my amazon stats is says 76 clicks from that domain. So CTR is just over 50%. Of that 76 people 4 separate sales were made. Which is about 5.26% conversion rate.

Thats about normal for my lenses/sites. It all depends on how targeted your posts are and the niche I guess. For example I have a Lens on Squidoo which targets a specific group of products under $50 & another under $100. They get about 90% click through to Amazon because it's exactly what they were after if you know what I mean. Then it's up to Amazon to do the hard work for me :)

That's exactly what I was wondering. I just think if you can get them to amazon that is half the battle. Maybe the fact that I let people know they are in local department stores may effect why they aren't buying. Maybe I should be more exclusive about which options they have to buy from

Well a 20% CTR is great. Usually if you can get 3-4% that's like fantastic. What we see what your page looks like?

Thanks sky horse. I was unsure about some results because I got a somewhat critical review of my site.

That's never fun. Especially when you are just building it.

I disagree. If you're going to have somebody point out what they don't like or what you are doing wrong it's best that it happens earlier rather than later. Then you might have done an awful lot more work on it and would have to spend a lot more time correcting it.

But at the same time you can't just listen to the opinions of one person. You could have the world's greatest website or product but you will still get a percentage of people who don't like it.

I have only had a brief look as I have a mind-numbingly slow connection at the moment but it looks great to me, except that it does look a little bit like a blog rather than a website you can monetize. More photos on the first page maybe, then I'm no expert.

I have pondered on making it more like a shop and using a static front page. The great thing about it only being 2 months old is it is still developing so I welcome critique but sometimes suggestions are not the best solution when they suggest changing something that is already working. My posts draw visitors and then they are directed to the reviews which contain a best price app that updates daily to get the best prices from the top 4 affiliate programs. I assume this is why I'm having a click through rate because by page 2 they have a possible solution and a great price.

At the end of the day I view the analytics to see which pages are doing well. Although it looks like a blog I hesitate to change it because my landing page has the lowest bounce rate and exit % because it is made like a blog that gives advice.

It would be nice if I could load the content on a separate site and set it up as a store and see which one performs better.

Still learning and thanks for your thoughts.

Fair comment. I was thinking more of adding to it so it looked more authorative rather than changing it but as you say if it is working for you then in the same position I would be reluctant too.

The key thing is to find out why it isn't converting (obviously hence the reason for your blog), with the sort of click through rate I would be expecting an awful lot more success. Difficult to say really, as Tria said it needs somebody with a bit more experience to take a look.

Definitely keep adding content though, the more you have the more your site is going to be found in searches.

Just an idea, but maybe you could be a little more forceful with your reviews? Or maybe just think a bit more like a salesperson. Are you creating urgency? Or are they probably going to keep shopping once they take a look?

I dunno, just some things that came to my mind, usually your the one who's helping me out, but back years ago when I'd get traffic from ezine I had a site that would convert about every 100 visits into a sale of $50, I got to that point when I changed my reviews to be just a little bit more pushy.

Just a thought, i'm interested to see what others think as well.

Definitely a thought I have had but I try to give options and suggestions as opposed to telling them this is the product to buy when realistically each situation dictates a different outcome.

Just a thought but I don't want to be an unreliable source for information if I push people into a tablet that doesn't work well for them.

Have you tried researching other peoples methods of selling your same product? I may give you a glimpse into what you might change after the CTR. 20% is a great number. The gurus here need to help you narrow down what the end obstacle is!

That would be the goal but no response from them yet

20% sounds like a fantastic rate to me. I would just keep on building it and adding more and more content.

Is the conversion rate holding up?

Conversion rate is struggling which has me dumbfounded. I sell a product that is a little pricy and what I would see as an investment when you could spend up to $500 on a product. I don't really understand if I get them to the product landing page why I'm not sealing the deal. Amazon and many affiliates should be able to close with very extensive landing pages I send them to. I relay a lot of the same information so there is no surprises and its a very honest review of products.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Should we fill in the All in one seo box at the bottom of each page or just the general settings like the tutorial

I say yes and no, if you're targeting a keyword phrase then it may help in ranking if used in the title and description.
But keep in mind that when you feel out these fields you're telling Google and other search engines what to display, this is good and bad.

It's good as you can control the title and description, this allowing you to create something to catch the searchers attention and get them to click or your web result.

It can be bad because lets say you have a page/post and for example it's a Wealthy Affiliate review. Now on this page/post you have a paragraph talking about Kyle and Carson.

Now the page/post ranks well for several phrases and someone searches something like "Who is Kyle and Carson".

If you entered a title and description when you created the page/post the web result isn't going to display or mention anything about Kyle & Carson.
But if you left the description empty, Google would likely display a related sentence taken from the paragraph about them.
This would be good as the searchers would at least see that the page is has content about them.

That is exactly what I was looking for, thanks for the quick feedback

Here is a Webcast from the Creators of All in One SEO plugin. There are some good pearls of wisdom in this but it is a bit long.

Having trouble installing this on my wp site. Keeps telling me error cannot send email...

Hi

I done some digging and I am not sure if this will help:

--------------------------

To get it to work on your page, you need to either

a) put in [wp_email_capture_form] within a post

or

b) include it as a widget within the site (Appearance > Widgets - drag it to the right hand column).

---------------------------

Let me know if you are still having problems

I use aweber. Can you post the exact error and I will try and help you

thanks for youe help. I decided just to use a different widget and it worked. Im afraid i have over spent my budget with aweber WA hosting etc. Need to get my site up and running to earn that ROI. BTW WA is the best investment I have made though

If you're trying to set up an email mailing list to send out newsletters for example then I'd recommend using a third party. There's a basic free service available at MadMimi http://www.madmimi.com and training on how to set up an account is here: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/setting-up-a-free-mailing-list-with-madmimi Rich.
