My name is Scott Newkirk. I run a website called A Work At Home Business. In the year and a half I have been here, I have learned things that I never thought possible before. If you told me 5 years ago, that I would be running a very successful website and making a living from home. I would have probably said you were crazy.

I am so thankful that I found Wealthy Affiliate and I am continuously paying it forward. I would love to work with as many people as I can and show you how to start making money online.

I am living proof that the training here at WA works if you dedicate yourself to working on your business and keep moving forward you will start to see results. It has only taken me 3 months of working consistently on this to start seeing some money coming in. I encourage anyone to never give up on your dreams. Make a goal and stick to it I would love to help out as many people as I can to meet and exceed their goals.

What I would suggest is to devote at least 30 minutes to an 1 hour to this everyday build it up a little bit at a time. Every chance you get, work on your business this is exactly the plan I have followed and it is working out well for me. I would love to help as many people as I possibly can to start making money online.

Feel free to send me a message anytime if you need help or have a question and I will be more than happy to help you out.

Hi Scott , playing around with the system after 50% of the course . Have tested a little siterubix and although it offers possibility to use a template for a website it doesn't give you any flexibility to change appearance (colors , format etc, unless you upgrade). I'm no techo but looks like it is going to take me more effort , time and costs to learn to set up a website.

Hi Roberto,

The idea behind the site Rubix websites is to give you an idea of what you're doing before investing any money into this.

They are also really helpful for testing out a niche to see what the income potential is and if it's worth it before you purchase the domain name for it.

In order to fully unlock your SR website and gain access to these additional features, you would need to upgrade your account to premium status.

Learning how to build an online business can be quite overwhelming and this will require a great deal of your time and effort, but it's definitely worth it.

I have been earning a full time living from this for close to 4 years now and I wouldn't trade this for any job out there.

When I came here over 4 years ago, I had no prior experience and I wasn't a techie either.

I just knew I was sick of the way my life was going (Financially) and was ready to do something about it.

The training here is actually geared towards newbies and people who have no technical knowledge and you're guided through all of this step by step.

If you need a hand with any of the lessons or run into something you don't understand, don't hesitate to reply to this msg and I'll be happy to help you out with this.

I hope you had an awesome weekend Roberto!!

Hi Scott,

I was wondering if you could explain to me how to place link adds 1 beside each other.

I am trying to post some picture links to Amazon and it is only letting me place them one underneath each other and not beside each other which is taking more space for nothing.

scottdogg187 Premium
Hi Dany,

Like I said in my previous message, placing ads and adding picture banners to your site isn't going to be of any benefit to you this early in the website building process.

Without traffic, who's going to see these ads?

You will learn how to do this as you continue to go through the training and start building out your site.

Adding affiliate links and picture ads can actually hurt your site and could delay the process in getting your site indexed in the search engines.

Stick with the training and continue to work your way through the lessons and you will eventually get to the part where you learn how to add these to your site.

Do you have any other questions besides this that I could be of assistance Dany?

If so, please let me know and I would be more than happy to help you out with this.

Hi Scott ... it's been a while. Great advice. I've been seeing these kind of comments more frequently lately. You know ... where newbies get the cart before the horse (affiliate links before a functional website and a steady stream of quality posting).

Hope you're having a good year with the updated site.

Hi Dennis,

Yes, it has been quite some time since we talked and I hope all is well with you.

These questions are perfectly normal and I get them almost on a daily basis.

Now that I come to think about it. when I first started WA back in 2012, I did the exact same thing( adding affiliate links before content) so I can totally relate to why soooo many people do this when they're first starting out in the online world.

If they would just follow the training and wouldn't venture off on their own then these questions wouldn't even come up.

I am having a pretty productive year so far and 2017 has been pretty good to me thus far. My new domain name is now a little over a year old now and I'm slowly starting to get re-established.

How are things going for you?

Do you still have your golf website?

I hope to hear from you soon Dennis!!

Hi Kathy,

I replied to your question from last week asking for help and if you haven't had the chance to read it yet you can check it out here When choosing a niche it's best if you go with something that you're passionate about or a hobby of yours.

There are millions of niches out there and absolutely anything can be a niche.

Have you had a chance to watch this niche video yet? If not, I would highly recommend that you take a closer look at it.

Kyle breaks down exactly what a niche is and you should be able to get a few niche ideas from it as well.

Check it out below!! Before you can find that perfect niche there are a few questions you need to ask yourself.

1. Is ______ something you could see yourself writing about for the next 3 or 4 years without getting bored with it or running out of things to write about?
2. Does_______ excite you whenever you think about it and do you feel like you have a good amount of knowledge about this topic to help other people?
3. What group of people are you looking to help within this niche? The more you narrow this down and the more targeted you get the better your chances are of being successful.

If you base your niche on something you enjoy doing or a hobby of yours, the chances of you being successful have just doubled.

If you pick a niche based on how much money it could make you then you'll have very limited success in the online world.

Let me try and break this down into really simple terms so that you can gain a better understanding of what you'll be doing as you go through the training.

The whole idea here isn't to learn how to sell but actually the complete opposite of this.

Instead, you'll be helping people by answering their questions, providing them with the information they're looking for, and leading them in the right direction (ie: Your affiliate offers)

Still confused?

Let me explain!!

How many times do you Google something looking for an answer to a question that you had?

Personally, I'm typing questions into Google daily and searching for answers to many questions I have.

Whenever I type my question in, Google is going to display the top 10 websites that have written an article on this topic.

I'll usually look through the search results and click on the one that I feel would help answer my question the best.

I would then read the article and if I liked what I read and was also in search of a product or service that could provide me with a solution to some problem I'm having, I would most likely buy the product that they are recommending.

The training here at WA shows you how to build a website and get it to show up in Google for various keywords within your niche (Keywords that people are typing in Google looking for answers)

Once you build your website and start getting rankings you will naturally start to show up in Google for various keyword searches that people type into Google.

There are currently 5 courses that go into detail about all of this and show you how to take a simple idea and turn it into a profitable online business.

Have you actually taken any action yet on any of the training or have you just been reading and watching the videos?

I really hope this helps explain what you'll be doing here at WA and if you're still confused please let me know and I'll do my best to make this clearer to understand.

Once I hear back from you and I get an idea of what some of your hobbies/interests are you can start working your way through the training.

I hope you are having a fabulous weekend Kathy and I'll look forward to your reply.

Hello Scott, I've spent all evening looking over your information reviews of Ameriplan and Wealthy Affiliates. I believe I like Wealthy Affiliate!

Like most...I'm sure my head is full of so many questions and will probably have a lot more before I get started.

I'm glad (reading your reviews) that you offer your help in answering questions...if you can.

Thank you,
scottdogg187 Premium
Hi Deborah,

I'm glad that you have taken some time to go over the information on my website before making the decision whether you could benefit from Ameriplan or Wealthy Affiliate.

I'm glad that you have decided upon Wealthy Affiliate and I can assure you that you have made an excellent choice here.

It's only natural for you to have many questions when getting started and that's what I'm here for Deborah.

When I started here 4 years ago, I had many questions as well so I know exactly how you must feel about now.

It's really great to hear that you're enjoying my reviews.

One of the main reasons I create these reviews are to help people like yourself who're looking for more info on this topic and have questions about it.

It's great to have you here as a part of the huge WA family and I look forward to working with you in the coming days, weeks, and months ahead.

Hey Scott, I just wanted to check in with you and see how things are going for you? You have been a huge inspiration and help for me since I joined last year and I also just wanted to say thanks. Honestly, if you hadn't reached out I probably wouldn't have renewed my premium account and settled for another job I wouldn't be happy with. Have a great and successful week my friend!

Hey Chad thanks for reaching out and checking in with me man, I really appreciate it.

Things are going great for me thus far and 2017 is shaping up to be a great year so far.

How is your 2017 going?

It's so great to hear that I have been a huge inspiration to you and I'm glad that I've been able to help you out last year and I'll be here whenever you need a hand with anything or have any questions for me.

You are most welcome Chad and I would hate to see you start off the new year by settling for another J.O.B that you wouldn't be happy with.

You have made a really wise decision by deciding to renew your premium membership and it's a pleasure to have you back here at WA.

I look forward to working with you in the year ahead and do let me know how you're getting along and whenever you feel stuck.

I hope you also have a fabulous week ahead Chad!

Hi Chad, You and I were chatting yesterday. With all the members in WA, It's a coincidence that we both have Scott as our mentor. He is fantastic and knows his stuff. I find him very personable and so patient with all our crazy questions. He has helped me tremendously and it is so appreciative. Scott is the best!

I totally agree, Barb. If it wasn't for him I would have quit and settled for another "job" which is definitely not what I wanted. I can't wait to meet him in Vegas! I'm sure I'll have a bunch of more questions but it's really starting to make sense now. I've been doing some edits lately and I went back and read my "About Me" page. WOW! I remember the feedback Scott and Kyle gave me about it. Now, I can totally see what they were saying. It's hilarious looking back from just a few short months and articles ago to see how far we've come. I can only imagine what it will look like 6 months, or years from now!
I want my niche to be about learning how to do splits. I currently am jobless and my significant other is holding down the fort all by hisself but I really want to give this a chance once I put my mind to something I know I can do it. I already have an I dead that I would sell fitness dvds on how to do splits but I know that takes money which I don't have. So what am I to do.

Wish you great success in your online business,

Hi Scott, I am starting to create my website but I do need your suggestion or maybe some advice of the niche I should start with that would really make me money as I am really broke at this time and I am really passionate to do this online business. I am interested in travelling and fashion clothings. Which one do you think I should do first. I know you are an expert on this and you know the market so I would truly appreciate your input on this. I dont want to create a website then ended up not working well.

Thank you
scottdogg187 Premium
Hi Ria,

I'm glad to hear that you have started creating your website and I would love to help you narrow down your niche and get you started in the right direction.

Travelling is an extremely competitive niche and this is not something I would recommend to a newbie who is just getting started in this business.

Fashion clothing, on the other hand, is also a competitive niche, but it's nowhere near as competitive as the traveling niche.

If this is something that you're extremely passionate about and you feel like you have a good amount of knowledge about this topic then you could definitely get started in this niche.

In order to be successful in this niche, you would need to narrow this down to a specific group of people so that you can find your targeted audience.

There are a few qualifying questions that I ask people who are looking to find their niche which I'll list for you below.

1. Is ______ something you could see yourself writing about for the next 3 or 4 years without getting bored with it or running out of things to write about?
2. Does_______ excite you whenever you think about it and do you find yourself talking about it for hours on end?

The more you narrow this down the easier it will be for you to reach out and help other people who have questions about the fashion world and find their particular style of clothing.

You could target women in their early 20's who are looking for fashion tips and the hottest trends.

this is only an example of how to narrow your niche down and hopefully, this gives you a good idea of how to find your targeted audience.

If you need any additional help narrowing this niche down please let me know Ria and I would be more than happy to help you out with this.

Talk To You Soon Ria!
~Your Friend, Scott~
Thank you Scott. I totally agree with you, travelling and fashion is not a good idea, that's the reason why I ask first. I love to travel and check out on latest fashions but I am not really passionate to write about it.

How about Health and Wellness? Any thoughts about it?

scottdogg187 Premium
You are most welcome Ria!

These 2 niches are pretty competitive but if you have a true passion for them you could definitely make a go of them. However, if you lack the passion for writing about these topics then I wouldn't recommend you to go this route.

Health and wellness are about as competitive as travel and fashion and not a niche that I would recommend unless you really are truly passionate about them.

What are some of your hobbies Ria? What do you do for fun?

Is there anything that you are truly passionate about and something you could see yourself writing about for the next couple of years without getting bored?

Once I hear back from you and have a general idea of what you're interested in I can help you break down your niche and find your targeted audience.

I hope this helps Ria and please let me know if you have any other questions or need my help.
