Hello there, my name is Scott Newkirk and it's a pleasure to meet you!!

It has been my lifelong goal to find an honest and legitimate opportunity that will show you how to make money online without trying to scam you.

Ever since I turned 18, I have been looking for such an opportunity and there for awhile I thought something like this didn't exist as I have been the victim of an online scam more times then I would like to admit.

It wasn't until I found this wonderful community here at Wealthy Affiliate that I was finally able to start pursuing my dream of making money online.

I have been a proud and very active member of this community for over 6 years now and I don't plan on ever quitting.

Here's what I was able to accomplish since I joined over 6 years ago

Learned how to build a website and earn affiliate commissions recommending products & services that are near & dear to my heart.

Made my first sale after 4 months of hard work

Quit my job and earn a full time living from home after 10 months of consistent hard work and massive taking action on the training here at WA.

Help other people become successful and make money online

Made the 300 sales and received an invitation to attend the WA Super Affiliate Convention in Las Vegas (2016)

Learning different ways to build multiple sources of income & grow my business

Make money in multiple niches and further my knowledge on how affiliate marketing works.

After working 12 to 16 hours a day 6 days a week for nearly 4 months I was finally able to make my first sale and it honestly felt like I had won the lottery.

If you could only imagine how excited I was!!

If you're willing to put in the time and make an effort then you can become very successful here with Wealthy Affiliate but this will require lots of hard work on your part.

It's because of the the amazing training here at Wealthy Affiliate that I have been earning a full time income online since 2014 and this continues to grow on the daily.

Many people come here thinking that they can use the free training and then upgrade once they start making money.

This is the entirely wrong way to look at this and by doing so you are limiting your chances of being successful by up to 50% or more.

If you're serious about pursuing this opportunity then it would be in your best interest to invest in yourself by upgrading to the premium membership here at WA.

While it's not a requirement and it is possible to make money with the free membership, your earning potential is extremely limited.

My advice to you would be to think of this as tution to enroll in online marketing classes just like if you would be to enroll in classes at a traditional college.

If you switch your mindset and instead of thinking of it as a cost, think of it as an investment in your future then you have just doubled your chances of being successful in the online world by up to 50%.

Please let me know if I can be of any assistance to you and answer any questions you may have as you're just getting started.

Talk to you soon and I'll see you guys around in the community

Hello Scott..
Many thanks for your massage and answers. Now it is more clear for me what I want to do just after your massage. I will go with bootcamp training as I want to learn how to make money online and if I start doing it I ll share my knowledge with the others with pleasure.I started to do OEC training and I got to the lesson 4 where i was suppose to choose the niche and i stuck there.
Next i started to do bootcamp but i am just on phase 1 and i have to choose the audience and the direction but I stuck again as I find that all the audiences pointed in that lesson are good to direct this knowledge to as it can be beneficial for everyone.
Can you help me to choose the direction or it is not so important which audience I ll pick. Hope my massages are clear for you to understand.
Thank you very much for your time

Hello Scott. Thank you for your response.I am sorry if I upset you in any way.I stuck with a niche and that was my question.
I have some interests and the main of them are meditation and self awareness which is my daily practise and a part of my life.
I am also interested in self development and meditation is part of ot of course. Also financial freedom, working online which I always wanted to do. That is way I am also interested in forex market and other financial markets. But forex it is something I want to to in a very near future.Obviesly I have some experience and background but this is something I need to have some capital money to invest.
That is way I want to do WA as I belive incan start making money pretty straight away when I put an effort and time in it.
I belive I can make money on forex and I have my strategy supported with hundred of hours tests on forextester.By the way they also have their own affiliate program. The problem I ve is that I do not have enough knowledge to write the contents on that subjects currently. So going further because of stucking in with a niche I started to do a bootcamp as apparently it is focused on making money. But in think I ve to choose a niche as well and the audience so I again stuck with choosing a direction.I belive I can achieve my goals and I ve been on my path for many years now.At this moment in my life I want to improve my financial side and I am ready to work hard in order to do so but also wise. For that I need someone I can ask for help, someone who already has been in the market longer time.

Hello Scott! Hope you are doing well. I don't need anything at this particular moment but I wanted to say hello and say that I am really enjoying the training and have learned so much already. I do have one question now that I am thinking about it, eventually, I want to promote products for dogs like apparel, furniture and such. How do I write a post that is 1000 words long about dog apparel? I am currently off from my nursing job due to some hip surgery I had at the end of July. I am trying to give every spare moment I have to this business building plan. I have not told my family about it because they would be skeptical about what is possible. I would rather achieve some success and then share that with them! I am determined to make this work. I have been a nurse for over 14 years and my body has taken a beating over those years. I make good money and I would love to replace my income and hopefully exceed it by working at home. I am a hard worker, dedicated, task-oriented and I don't quit once I set my sights on something. I want so much to have financial freedom for me and my family.

Hey Robyn

Yes things are going pretty well for me and I hope you're doing good as well.

Thanks so much for stopping by and saying hello Robyn and I'm thrilled to hear that you're enjoying the training so far and that you are learning a lot.

To answer your question about writing 1000+ word posts this is something that you will have to work up to.

Nobody starts out writing 1000 word posts right from the start unless they are already a writer and have previous experience.

When I first started here back in 2012 just the thought of writing 400 words seemed quite daunting and I had no idea how I would do this.

Fast forward nearly 6 years later and I'm writing close to 1500 words a day or more without even thinking about it.

As a matter of fact just last week I wrote over 3,000 words in a day and this is quite the achievement for me to say the least.

Writing is a skill that you will eventually learn over time and since you're just starting out I would focus on 400 words for now and move on from there once you feel more comfortable.

The dog niche is an awesome niche and if this is something that you're extremely passionate about then I think you will do great with this niche.

I;'ll also be here to help you out whenever you need it and walk you through anything you don't understand.

If you stick with this and give it your all then you will definitely be successful here but it will take some time.

Great idea, I would hold off on telling your family as other people tend to be skeptical and doubt you when it comes to building a business online.

My family and friends thought I was crazy when I first started and told me I wouldn't make a dime so I set out to prove them wrong.

It took me a while but now they have changed their tune and no longer think that way.

You could definitely replace your income as a nurse if you work hard at this and don't expect to see results overnight Robyn.

It was great to hear from you and I hope this answers your question and gives you so insight into how to write 1000 word posts on dogs and other apparel related to this niche.

I hope you're having a super productive week thus far and I'll talk to you soon.

Take care

Hey Scott I just wanted to say I read your blog and wanted to ask how you are doing. I am still surviving but did get a part time job night shift at an drug and alcohol rehab doing....."an email funnel" For their website lol. I tell you this training has come just in time haha. Anyway, I thought you were a major seller here and the only reason I can think of that you are not selling more is vibrational. You may not believe this kind of thing but keep thinking about good feeling thoughts and I'm sure your websites will convert Vegas style again:) Since I'm still learning about affiliate marketing thats about all the advice I can give you lol. Otherwise I'm sending positive vibes your way. Talk soon

Hey Goron,

Sorry for such a late reply I've been quite busy with my website and writing content.

I'm doing much better now that I put my mother in the nursing home.

I'm much more focused, not nearly as depressed as I was and my anxiety is finally gone.

It's great to hear that you're surviving and that you got a part-time job.

What happened to driving a truck? Did you give up on that Idea?

A buddy of mine is a truck driver and he took me on a run about 2 months ago.

I got to go to Florida with him to pick up a load and I had an absolute blast.

Yes I agree that this email training is awesome and this is something I requested from Kyle like 4 years ago lol

It's great to see that he has finally got around to it and I can't wait to get this setup on my site.

I was and still am a pretty major seller here in WA but over the past couple of years, I made a few mistakes.

These mistakes have had a huge negative impact on my business and I'm working to fix those mistakes so I can make my way back to Vegas in 2019.

I really want to thank you for dropping by Gordon and updating me on your current situation and how things are going for you.

I hope you're having an amazing weekend thus far and have a very productive week ahead.

I have been under pressure to come up with the cash to keep on going with the writing and the jobs are distracting. I've also been trying to do the Local SEO thing. If you see ANY mistakes on my site be sure to let me know. I am still trying to come out of the "3 month wall" as I'm having a hard time imagining getting anywhere near Vegas levels of sales so I'm scrambling for other avenues of cash while fully intending to keep going on WA Vegas challenge. I just couldn't pass the trucking final. I got 95% to 100% on all written exams but choked on the practical. It costs over $1000 to retake so I'm holding off until WA comes through before trying it again. I don't think I really wanted to do that trucking thing anyway as my body seemed to literally be rebelling against the whole idea lol. Oh well I have a feeling something I really want is around the corner

Hi Scott,
Here's the info.

I've not been able to delete the image of the deer. I probably don't need any image there at all.
Also, would it be better to have a dropdown menu under Men's & women's menus so it doesn't take up a lot of room in the sidebars?
Hi @postum99 , be aware that you shared access to your site as a public message. Next time, you should send a private message for this kind of info, or you site might get hacked.
Postum99 Premium
Hi Scott,
Take a look at my site if you would. dansqualityboots.com
In the widgets page I ended up with sidebars on left and right with exactly the same info. I can't seem to delete the info on the right side with anything I do. It's the Alchem theme. It shows sidebars
1,2,3,4,5,6. How do I know where each one of these are?
scottdogg187 Premium
Hi Dan,

I had a look at your site and I must say it looks much better other than the picture of deer at the very top.

If you were building a hunting website then this would be relevant to your site.

However, it doesn't fit in with a boots site very well and you should change it to something more relevant.

I think I could help you out much better if you would give me access to the back end of your site (WP dashboard)

I would need the username and password to login so i can take a look around and find out how to delete the widgets on the right and put up a proper image for you at the top.

Once I hear back from you we can get this issue solved and get you moving forward.

Had a health scare last night. My left lower leg ballooned to twice its size. I called 911 and had an ambulance take me to the hospital. They thought it was a blood clot but then they did an ultrasound and didn't find one. I was in the ER from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. I'm at work today with my leg up in another chair. So I wasn't able to work on my blog, and my rank got worse by about 150. What all goes into affecting the rank?

I'm more green than you can imagine.
1. When I find an Image that I want to insert, what do I do with it.
2. Where do I store it and how do I get it there. You skipped that part. I don't know where to store them or how to put them in storage for later use.
scottdogg187 Premium
Hi Dan,

When you find an image you would like to use go into your page or post editor and at the top you'll see a button that says add media.

Click this button and you'll be able to add images from your computer or a website URL. Simply locate your images and upload them to add these to your media library.

These images will be stored on your server and you can get to where they are located by navigating your mouse to the media tab on your left in your WordPress dashboard and then clicking on the library.

Any images that you've uploaded thus far and in the future will be stored here.

You can also upload images to your site directly using the add new tab that's on your left as well.

If you need a hand with any of this or need me to go into further detail please let me know Dan.

I hope this helps!!

Hi Scott , playing around with the system after 50% of the course . Have tested a little siterubix and although it offers possibility to use a template for a website it doesn't give you any flexibility to change appearance (colors , format etc, unless you upgrade). I'm no techo but looks like it is going to take me more effort , time and costs to learn to set up a website.
Best , Roberto
scottdogg187 Premium
Hi Roberto,

The idea behind the site Rubix websites is to give you an idea of what you're doing before investing any money into this.

They are also really helpful for testing out a niche to see what the income potential is and if it's worth it before you purchase the domain name for it.

In order to fully unlock your SR website and gain access to these additional features, you would need to upgrade your account to premium status.

Learning how to build an online business can be quite overwhelming and this will require a great deal of your time and effort, but it's definitely worth it.

I have been earning a full time living from this for close to 4 years now and I wouldn't trade this for any job out there.

When I came here over 4 years ago, I had no prior experience and I wasn't a techie either.

I just knew I was sick of the way my life was going (Financially) and was ready to do something about it.

The training here is actually geared towards newbies and people who have no technical knowledge and you're guided through all of this step by step.

If you need a hand with any of the lessons or run into something you don't understand, don't hesitate to reply to this msg and I'll be happy to help you out with this.

I hope you had an awesome weekend Roberto!!

Hi Scott,

I was wondering if you could explain to me how to place link adds 1 beside each other.

I am trying to post some picture links to Amazon and it is only letting me place them one underneath each other and not beside each other which is taking more space for nothing.

scottdogg187 Premium
Hi Dany,

Like I said in my previous message, placing ads and adding picture banners to your site isn't going to be of any benefit to you this early in the website building process.

Without traffic, who's going to see these ads?

You will learn how to do this as you continue to go through the training and start building out your site.

Adding affiliate links and picture ads can actually hurt your site and could delay the process in getting your site indexed in the search engines.

Stick with the training and continue to work your way through the lessons and you will eventually get to the part where you learn how to add these to your site.

Do you have any other questions besides this that I could be of assistance Dany?

If so, please let me know and I would be more than happy to help you out with this.

Hi Scott ... it's been a while. Great advice. I've been seeing these kind of comments more frequently lately. You know ... where newbies get the cart before the horse (affiliate links before a functional website and a steady stream of quality posting).

Hope you're having a good year with the updated site.
scottdogg187 Premium
Hi Dennis,

Yes, it has been quite some time since we talked and I hope all is well with you.

These questions are perfectly normal and I get them almost on a daily basis.

Now that I come to think about it. when I first started WA back in 2012, I did the exact same thing( adding affiliate links before content) so I can totally relate to why soooo many people do this when they're first starting out in the online world.

If they would just follow the training and wouldn't venture off on their own then these questions wouldn't even come up.

I am having a pretty productive year so far and 2017 has been pretty good to me thus far. My new domain name is now a little over a year old now and I'm slowly starting to get re-established.

How are things going for you?

Do you still have your golf website?

I hope to hear from you soon Dennis!!

scottdogg187 Premium
Hi Kathy,

I replied to your question from last week asking for help and if you haven't had the chance to read it yet you can check it out here When choosing a niche it's best if you go with something that you're passionate about or a hobby of yours.

There are millions of niches out there and absolutely anything can be a niche.

Have you had a chance to watch this niche video yet? If not, I would highly recommend that you take a closer look at it.

Kyle breaks down exactly what a niche is and you should be able to get a few niche ideas from it as well.

Check it out below!! Before you can find that perfect niche there are a few questions you need to ask yourself.

1. Is ______ something you could see yourself writing about for the next 3 or 4 years without getting bored with it or running out of things to write about?
2. Does_______ excite you whenever you think about it and do you feel like you have a good amount of knowledge about this topic to help other people?
3. What group of people are you looking to help within this niche? The more you narrow this down and the more targeted you get the better your chances are of being successful.

If you base your niche on something you enjoy doing or a hobby of yours, the chances of you being successful have just doubled.

If you pick a niche based on how much money it could make you then you'll have very limited success in the online world.

Let me try and break this down into really simple terms so that you can gain a better understanding of what you'll be doing as you go through the training.

The whole idea here isn't to learn how to sell but actually the complete opposite of this.

Instead, you'll be helping people by answering their questions, providing them with the information they're looking for, and leading them in the right direction (ie: Your affiliate offers)

Still confused?

Let me explain!!

How many times do you Google something looking for an answer to a question that you had?

Personally, I'm typing questions into Google daily and searching for answers to many questions I have.

Whenever I type my question in, Google is going to display the top 10 websites that have written an article on this topic.

I'll usually look through the search results and click on the one that I feel would help answer my question the best.

I would then read the article and if I liked what I read and was also in search of a product or service that could provide me with a solution to some problem I'm having, I would most likely buy the product that they are recommending.

The training here at WA shows you how to build a website and get it to show up in Google for various keywords within your niche (Keywords that people are typing in Google looking for answers)

Once you build your website and start getting rankings you will naturally start to show up in Google for various keyword searches that people type into Google.

There are currently 5 courses that go into detail about all of this and show you how to take a simple idea and turn it into a profitable online business.

Have you actually taken any action yet on any of the training or have you just been reading and watching the videos?

I really hope this helps explain what you'll be doing here at WA and if you're still confused please let me know and I'll do my best to make this clearer to understand.

Once I hear back from you and I get an idea of what some of your hobbies/interests are you can start working your way through the training.

I hope you are having a fabulous weekend Kathy and I'll look forward to your reply.

I am interested in travelling and fashion clothings. Which one do you think I should do first. I know you are an expert on this and you know the market so I would truly appreciate your input on this. I dont want to create a website then ended up not working well.

Thank you

Hi Ria,

I'm glad to hear that you have started creating your website and I would love to help you narrow down your niche and get you started in the right direction.

Travelling is an extremely competitive niche and this is not something I would recommend to a newbie who is just getting started in this business.

Fashion clothing, on the other hand, is also a competitive niche, but it's nowhere near as competitive as the traveling niche.

If this is something that you're extremely passionate about and you feel like you have a good amount of knowledge about this topic then you could definitely get started in this niche.

In order to be successful in this niche, you would need to narrow this down to a specific group of people so that you can find your targeted audience.

There are a few qualifying questions that I ask people who are looking to find their niche which I'll list for you below.

1. Is ______ something you could see yourself writing about for the next 3 or 4 years without getting bored with it or running out of things to write about?
2. Does_______ excite you whenever you think about it and do you find yourself talking about it for hours on end?

The more you narrow this down the easier it will be for you to reach out and help other people who have questions about the fashion world and find their particular style of clothing.

You could target women in their early 20's who are looking for fashion tips and the hottest trends.

this is only an example of how to narrow your niche down and hopefully, this gives you a good idea of how to find your targeted audience.

If you need any additional help narrowing this niche down please let me know Ria and I would be more than happy to help you out with this.

Thank you Scott. I totally agree with you, travelling and fashion is not a good idea, that's the reason why I ask first. I love to travel and check out on latest fashions but I am not really passionate to write about it.

How about Health and Wellness? Any thoughts about it?

You are most welcome Ria!

These 2 niches are pretty competitive but if you have a true passion for them you could definitely make a go of them. However, if you lack the passion for writing about these topics then I wouldn't recommend you to go this route.

Health and wellness are about as competitive as travel and fashion and not a niche that I would recommend unless you really are truly passionate about them.

What are some of your hobbies Ria? What do you do for fun?

Is there anything that you are truly passionate about and something you could see yourself writing about for the next couple of years without getting bored?

Once I hear back from you and have a general idea of what you're interested in I can help you break down your niche and find your targeted audience.

I hope this helps Ria and please let me know if you have any other questions or need my help.
