Looking for help in developing a header? I was kindly given a link from Bullet (Dave) to Xheader. It was really easy. I just got an email from Xheader on 2 sites to find free pic

good reminder, thanks, Andy

I did find this training by Kyle with free/commons images.

Hey, thanks for posting. Not sure I would use Freefoto cuz you have to provide attribute and link back. I'm not a huge fan of this but its just a personal preference. I do find morguefile interesting (the name as well) and will be checking that out for sure.

lol Rick, I'm reading and I read "choking that out." lol I was in the thought of morgue. :) In reading about it, it said something about that's a newspaper term. I believe for past articles. I still need to read up and learn about the whole linking back. I see a bit here and there in discussions and it does sound like some kind of disease. :) You would know better than myself. Thanks friend for the advice.

morguefile works, I have also blogged about this and others, I agree about the attribution thing...time consuming and makes me a little paranoid about missing one..

I found an other one that I have saved but not had time to look at pixabay.com. They offer free pics and don't have to credit. There is also Flickr.com - with a Creative Commons- I believe you have to credit the author. I just learned about it also.

Perfect I was using this theme called Childishly Simple (its kicking my butt) and I was looking for uncopyrighted pictures. Thank you. I thought that I would have to use my grandchildren as models.

lol I would have liked to have seen your grandchildren. :) Na, let's keep their pictures private for as long as we can. Soon enough they'll be on every social media. I'm glad this helps.

Much appreciate. Will definitely look into these. Thank you

Great to hear it friend! If you come across something don't be shy and pass on. :)

Thank you, good information!

You're welcome! I just know I wouldn't want to get in trouble for using a picture in the wrong way.

Thanks for sharing, I will look into the info.

:) Anytime that I can!

For custom headers you can go to flame text it is free or you can pay I think it's still $15 per year.

Thanks Tommy! I will check out flame text for next website. That won't be coming anytime soon. I'm still working on the first & have long way to go but I will definitely bookmark it.

Thank you! This is great information and I will be checking these out for sure. I know magistudios (WA username) recently did a great webinar on using photoshop to build your own pics and banners that was broken down very simple (I'm not very tech savy, haha)

Happy to pass along. :) Yes, it was an interesting webinar with lots of information.

Ok WA community help straighten my thinking please. I am trying to wrap my brain around affiliate marketing. Thru my

I don't know how i can build my website madam i can you help me.i mean pages and content.

Hurray for Patty down below a few posts here. Profmiss, her idea is excellent and her 'cautions' great! You could Google for Salsa dance affiliate, Schools, Instructions, etc or check out ClickBank.com for dance lessons and such, check out Yahoo, Ask and Aol as well for Salsa Dance Instructions or any variables of it and see what comes up. "Online" Dancing Schools or "instructions" would be good too! Happy Salsing, Profmiss! Check out my www.nichemarkets501.com for how I do it!

Yes Mike, Patty had some really helpful suggestions. Thank you for passing on about ClickBank.com. I only got to look through it briefly earlier. I will definitely check out www.nichemarkets501.com. I will take all the help I can get. Thanks a million!

Thanks WAers for sharing. Great info

I agree with you Bill. There are some very knowledgable people here.

Yes, this is the process of how affiliate marketing works. You basically want to help promote of sell other sites or products through your own website, then you get paid for the referral.

The only advice I would give is that you should always check out the business you're considering affiliating. You could do a google search for them and make sure you don't see any concerning posts about them as a company or how they treat their affiliates. Or send them an email with a question and see how good they are about responding back.

For an example, I was considering affiliating a company that I found on CB but I sent them an email with a question, 3 times in a 2 week period and never heard anything back from them. This is a company I would NEVER work with, I can't promote them if I know they don't answer their emails and questions from their affiliates or possible affiliates.

Hope you got this figured out.

Best of luck.

Patty :)

Thank you Patty for the good advice. I was also thinking to check for reviews on those websites & also compare the payouts. They are all different & some have incentives. I will most definitely contact them and see how quickly they get back to me.

What I wasn't getting was how you team with a company. I wondered if you just put a link to them some how you would get the credit. I guess not. You do have to make contact & set things up initially.

And I know WA lessons talk about being specific within the niche but couldn't it be a well rounded site that includes may things that salsa dancers are interested in? If they are interested in the videos then later they might need to replace the shoes. And wouldn't it be best that there were 1 site will information on all aspects of salsa dancing?! Just a thought.
Thanks again,
Dorothy :)

Hi, Patty and Profmiss. In regards to companies one wants to 'affiliate' with ...all I can ad is that MOST do NOT respond to if they suspect the applicant might be a newbie or they may be so 'popular' that they feel they need no more Affiliates. To remedy the first 'possibility' for not responding, when my Mentor and I REALLY want the PRODUCT, we always include a brief 'profile' of our Site: (1).-How long Network Marketing; (2).-What products or niche we 'prefer'; (3).-How long we've been Online Marketing; (4).-How we Market our affiliate products; and, (5).-How their products may fit into our strategy. We might even send a "ticket'. As to the fact that they may feel they got all affiliates then want ...well, Patty already said what to do ...YOU don't want them either!

So a site with 1 link to salsa videos, an other link to salsa shoes and an other to Salsa Congresses (dance workshops around the world) would be too much? I am up Level 1 Lesson 8 and Bootcamp Lesson 6. Not to worry Blas, I will review again. I really appreciate your help!

No that doesn't sound like too much. Some people have banners and many affiliate links all over the place. Just remember that you need to focus on your audience and then when it makes sense put a link. Just follow the courses and you'll learn all about it.

Hi Dorothy,
I don't know how different this would be for compensation plans,
and I have not used it, but there is also Google Adsense:
www.google.com/adsense

Merci Andre! I will look more into adsense. Interesting!

I would use one site and start mapping out what your site is going to be about. I would be careful about just putting affiliate links all over the place as search engines do not like that. Just be sure to have fresh relevant content on your site and you should be good. Have you gone through the training courses?
One thing to consider, video marketing could be extremely useful for you because salsa dancing is very visual. You could have very targeted "how to videos" and have those link back to your site and even link back to a review of a particular Salsa company you are an affiliate of. You could do both a written and a video review of Baila Society. This is a very specific niche and I think it could be good for you. Best of luck. If you have any questions just ask and be very active so you get lots of help.

Best of luck to you.

How-to videos will be very important to me especially if I'm just starting out as a Salsa dancer. You made a good point there.

Yes, I agree about the 1 site. I wouldn't want to spread myself thin from the start. Thanks you again Steve.
Dorothy

Thank you Steve. Other question: I found several salsa sites with affiliate programs. Would it be best to have a different website for each one or could I have like a website on salsa and banners or links to different suppliers/these salsa sites?

I think choices are usually a good thing. Some affiliate programs will terminate their business with you if promote competing products so you'll need to look into their affiliate agreement. I would recommend focusing on building one website.

You would sign up for their affiliate program then once accepted, they will give you an affiliate link to use on your site :)
