how do I get my image on my profile for my web page without gravitar. I don't know how to use gravitar?
You can "Add Media" while you're in the WP editor and add your own image. But if you're talking about the little circle picture that comes with the user name, the only way is use the gravitar. It's really easy to do it... Users > select your user > Edit.
Under the profile pic, you see "You can change your profile picture on Gravatar." Click that link and get it set up. It doesn't take long, there you can upload your pic.
I did create an Gravatar account without any success. My confirmation email was never sent. I'm not sure what I did wrong or what I should do to continue to correct the issue. I will try again. Thank you littlemama.

I would take the time to set up a Gravatar, it sure beats having to update a bunch of pictures or having a default icon next to comments you post.
I saw your question and did a quick search. I didn't see anything really comprehensive so I whipped up a post real quick.

I would love to use Gravatar. I tried. It said they sent me a confirmation email and I never received it. I would love some assistance with Gravatar. I have two websites I'm trying to get images on with no success. Thank you for responding I would love your help. Subnetbuzz thank you!

Another thing, and I know it's obvious but it's bitten me a time or two as well, double check that the email address doesn't have any typos.

from like godaddy or here at WA what is more cost effective?
WA is more cost effective if you compare to GoDaddy.
GoDaddy might lure you in with a low cost offer but you'll pay a LOT when the renewal time comes.
I've been doing this for almost 10 years and I started with GoDaddy and at some point had about 100 domain names. Happy to report that for the past few years I've been able to get all of my domain names away from GoDaddy and this is saving me a bunch of money!
Yes...owning your own domain is a powerful thing...always recommended to get one with a ".com" and avoid punctuation in the name like - dashes, if you can. How To Choose Your 1st Domain Name - Keyword-Rich Domains vs. Branded Domains - Which is Better? Hope that helps. :)
I agree JChris - a .com is the best but so often its taken. Im based in the UK and where the .com is unavailable I find the .co.uk often is available.
In that situation would you advise taking the available .co.uk or looking for another name to secure a .com?
It really depends somewhat on your niche, as if it is one that targets a UK audience (like "Stay at Home Mums", instead of "Stay at Home Moms") then, it would work really well, or if it is targeting a non-UK audience where being a Brit would be considered an "authority" trait (like a travel site where people from around the world book travel to the UK and want someone who knows the layout of the land), then this also would work well...if the .co.uk would be a limiting factor, then I would still seek a ".com" and would be happy to make suggestions in a private message. :)
