Frightening events

The relentless rainfall pounds on drumming incessantly.

This is a mortifying synopsis of actual events that take the world of supposition closer to actual reality. Two weeks ago I closed a series of articles featuring global land and sea change.

I covered every region of the world in "chapters" continent by continent. On May 10 I covered North America.
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/mkearns/blog/north-america-in-change

When you look at the hypothetical structure of new seas and landmasses covered in the referenced post, it doesn't look so far-fetched. In fact there's a potential match up between areas of high rainfall like Seattle and inundated areas in the new terrain.

Conversely, areas like Alaska and Greenland are potentially plagued with tectonic rise of land mass due to removal of ice. Any concurrent warming here forms new islands and continental shelf. This would do away with the Bering Strait and create a new land bridge.

In the North America article I mentioned the effects of this change in a historical context. I covered the last 200 years. Now, however, if these changes occur today or in the near future we may not be looking at a gain of fortune in revelling in the purchase of Alaska by Secretary of State William Seward. We may be looking on our first ever land boundary with Russia! This would most likely be along the path of the existing International Date Line.

Recently there has been an innovative push to claim more territory from the sea in mainland Asia. As most of us know the Chinese have been dredging up islands of new sovereign Chinese territory in the South China Sea. The United States can do no more about this action than a few impotent overflights.

Russia also has flexed her muscle in carving up areas of exploratory "interest" throughout the entire Arctic Sea. There are lines of interest being staked in those waters. There are minerals that are up for grabs in those regions that can fuel new technologies.

I point this out to those of us in Wealthy Affiliate as it affects us all. To affiliate with any industry or interest is to stake a claim in that industry.

The final touch is that we are a bright group of entrepreneurs who are reaching into new regions daily with our efforts, It will take all our ingenuity to reach international accord and become the new prosperous group of world makers as the future unfolds.

I believe Whitehorse and Dawson in the Yukon are the closest commercial Canadian points. Unless there is a new Klondike, I don't see the draw! The closest in BC is Prince Rupert and it's a port city!

Wow, I knew you were going to be thorough and deep. I Actually had to read this twice. Excellent writing, excellent detail very specific in helping us understand something that is not called the global warming in a way that anyone could understand it. Even me.
Peace💗

My pleasure Sharon. I love your guru cap!

I enjoyed reading your blog
have a good day

Great stuff as usual Mike

Thanks for the reminder that WA is only part of a greater community.

I'm gonna start a Wellies Rain Boot niche site! Discount Booties lol

Best wishes mate!

Great read and so refreshing to not see one mention of global warming. The climate moves in cycles always has and always will.

Not sure what you are saying about ice removal on Greenland. Can give you a link to a lecture by a Norwegian physicist (Nobelist) who is showing data about ice growing on Greenland. This seems to be beyond doubt.

I don't dispute that. You're to be commended for pointing that out. There have been so many controversial anomalies about "global warming" that the term "climate change" is now being used

From what I know, the officially accepted temperature change in the past 100 years is only around +0.8 degrees. But possible statistical errors in measurements are such that in reality this can easily be any negative number, so you could speak about cooling as well.

All those measurements (millions of them) are on land, and then most of them in the northern hemisphere, with just a few in Antarctica and in the bigger part of the world (Africa, South America, Central Asia).

Now, the bigger part of the globe is cowered by water, so to have a reliable conclusion about the possible temperature change, ocean temperature should have been measured in the same period, and this has not been done, it was impossible.

So those claims about global warming are based on unreliable data and cannot be taken seriously.

The planet has always been in the processes of global warming and cooling, this is perfectly normal, and very reliable data exist which shows this for millions of years.

I would say this is a new religion. But I am not saying that the global warming is not there, it may be or it may not be, I am saying there isn't any reliable proof for that.

The future's so bright, we need to wear shades!

Mike I read today that Russia is building 3 tunnels to help transporting goods through Alaska! When did we approve that?

Reverse maneuvering. Now we're being paid to give it away!

I don't think that is happening. It has been discussed for decades but I live in Alaska (have all my life) and work for the State of Alaska Department of Natural Resources. I am an adjudicator and permit water use for the entire state for the Oil and Gas industry. My co-worker permits water use for all construction and road building in the state. I know those who do land use permitting etc. I used to be a Land Use Planner here as well.

This is not happening (yet, of course who knows what the future will bring). It is a theory. In real life, this would be very difficult to pull off and tremendously expensive. We don't even have roads (or railroads) connecting Western Alaska with the rest of the state. There is talk of connecting our railroad to Canada's but that has not happened yet either.

Great to have you weigh in Jesica. If anyone here is a resident expert on Alaska, you are!. Let's hope that sane heads prevail regardless of cost!

Are you saying you would like to see the connection with Russia?

No. But there is inevitable diplomacy involved due to their proximity!

They may not be in Alaska territory yet. I am going to look for the article again. It had a photo of tunnels being dug. I hope you are right though.

Fake news. Careful what you read or hear. Plenty of that going around.

That’s true yet the photo was there.

Who would you believe? We all saw the photo of the lines at Mount Everest, we know its true because it went viral all over social media then the News Media picked up on it and all over national news. It was real, it happened, 11 people died due to overcrowding. If it wasn't we wouldn't see those real life photos and videos people took real pictures and videos as they were there. They saw what was happening. That kind of news I believe.

I would love to see it. Please let me know. I found a story about it with a picture of a tunnel but it is just a tunnel, nothing says where the tunnel is. It is just a picture of a generic tunnel they used for the article. The article was also from 2011.

Our state suffered a massive recession since then due to the falling price of oil. We did not go into the same recession the rest of the U.S. did, ours was years later. We had massive layoffs, high unemployment and people started to leave the state since they could no longer afford to live here. Our own infrastructure projects were shut down. We are in a budget crisis and next week the state will be printing layoff notices for all of us since our Legislature has not passed a budget on time yet again. This will be the third time this has happened since I have worked here.

We don't have the money to build a railroad to Nome which is hundreds of miles from the nearest road or railroad system. I am sure this project will happen someday with outside funding but I really don't think it is happening now.

Sorry to hear about the layoffs. I worked for government in Florida so I am sure you know more than what I read correct or incorrect. Hope they figure it out and you can get back to your job.

When Mike talked about in the future the boundaries could change due to weather etc I google and say the article. I in a hurry did not see it was 2011. Lol!

Take care
Bill

No problem! Alaskans are a bit touchy about Russia since Putin has said he wants to take it back. Their fighters come close (or into ) our airspace as well and our fighters are always escorting them back out. It would be big news here if this sort of thing were to happen.

That's a typical Putin - Trump response.
