Hi !
Great to meet you all !
A single father of 2 young adults/ my younger graduated High School this year.
I was raised by 2 teachers from The Greatest Generation, Dad was a WWII Marine. My Heroes were John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Roy Rogers and more than a few other Cowboys ( in black & white and color) !
For sure a throwback to a bygone era. It's certainly possible I'm clinging to my God and my Guns ! I still believe in personal responsibility, but I'm happy to help someone get back on their own 2 feet.

I have a son 21 and a daughter,19. For the last 21 years I’ve shaped my entire life around them, been there for them pretty much 24/7 and allowed nothing to interfere with that mission. Didn’t seem like it at the time, but I’m blessed that they’ve both been through their “teen age rough patch”. Never imagined how rough it could get ! Phew ! The good news being that how rough it got seemed to shorten the learning curve for them. You could make a case for my personal rough patch extending into my very late 30’s, however they came through theirs and emerged as very focused, goal oriented, solid young adults. They make me proud beyond belief !
So one of my goals would be to help get them through College and sounds like probably Post-Grad too, and see them get the solid start they deserve !
My children have never seen a really good economy in their days and I'd be thrilled if they could get their start seeing that happen!

I'm a huge believer in the Zig Ziglar quote; "If you want to get where you want to be then help others reach their goals and yours will take care of themselves."

Maybe 5 years ago as the kids got to where they'd rather be with peers than old people I became aware of all the potential the internet held for generating an online income. I've recieved some great training both at Wealthy Affiliate and from some major figures in the online industry as well. At this point in time I'm blessed to be working with a couple of minor geniuses as friends, business partners and mentors. Cracking the code and on my way to Freedom ! I'm a believer in multiple income streams and well on my way to developing some that are excellent. Over the shiny object syndrome, got the mindset right and work daily to keep it that way ! Moving my income online according to the Plan and looking forward to leaving the day job behind very soon ! Freedom will never happen working for someone else.

. Last winter we had over 16 feet of snow, so I'm also looking for Geographical Freedom. It's nice here in the summer so some version of a "Snowbird" seems appropriate......

I'm an American who still thinks our best days are ahead of us. In 2018 I'm seeing some very positive changes and so looking forward to building on those going forward !
I'm looking forward to getting to know you and would enjoy working with you, I've learned a lot of things that work and look forward to learning more from and with you ! Never will stop learning and loving it !

Please reach out to me on any Social Network and let's get to know each other better !

Let's get together on our Social Networks Too !

Good luck Mike! I currently have a 40 hour a week job so I only work here about 10-12 hours a week. I don't think I could do both full time. Good luck!

Really nice goals, Mike!

By laying things down in such a practical and logical way you now have something to work towards and something to focus on.

The key to succeeding here at WA is to take action on what you learn from the training and ask questions when you need help.

You've taken the first step so I wish you well on the rest of your journey. If I can help with anything along the way the don't hesitate to drop me a line.

Cheers,

Marcus

Thanks for the follow, Mike. You sound very much like a family man. Nice knowing that you're fond western movies because that's where our interests sync :) I used to read a lot of western novels during my college days, especially the Louis L'Amour ones. I'm following you back. Wishing you much success!

Hi Mike,

It was fun reading your post. The people that I've been following have really opened up in a way I never thought internet marketers would. I have about 2 hours and 20 minutes left before my offer of $19 starts for the first month as a Premium member of WA. I'm going to join right after I'm done with this post. I'd hate to not be able to communicate with you and the rest of the people here that really make this platform exciting. I've heard of WA for a couple of years, but I've been burned by schemes and scams that anything good like WA gets put in the back burner in fear that I may again get taken for my money. The more I look into this free 7 day trial the more I like what I see and it's people like you that make me want to join this platform and become part of this networking family. Thanks for sharing your post Mike, I'll see you on the other side as they say. :)

Hi, Mike. Nice to meet you. You're OK in my book if Roy Rogers was one of your heroes! Mine, too, and of course, Dale.

We used to play "Roy Rogers and Dale Evans" in the "city park" of the little town I grew up in. It's a little midwestern farming community built around a town square, with businesses built around the 4 sides of the square.

Welcome to my network. Nice to meet you. Thanks for following me back. Carol

Hi Mike and thanks for following me. It's nice to meet you and I have returned the favor. Reading your profile I can say we've got some experiences in common. When I think about my parents and grandparents it's clear that they are among the great ones. We've raised three daughters and they're surprising us all the time. We're expecting our first grandchild in April.
Wishing you much success and prosperity to fulfill your dreams and goals for you and your family.
Stay well and have a great evening.

Mike,
Raising children to become thriving adults is a miraculous endeavour. It takes effort and endless prayers. I am happy to read that you are all growing stronger each day, and your son and daughter appreciate their father. They have a wonderful future ahead because you stood by them.

You will relate to my story:

There was a moment of truth that I will always remember fondly. My son stood in the kitchen and announced he was not going to football practice. One week earlier, he begged me to speak with the middle school coach and allow him to join the team. Max was in and out of schools over the years. He was profoundly gifted at an early age. To compensate, I threw myself into schooling him by providing educational software, highschool and college level textbooks, tutors from a private university, attending math and physics teachers conventions, and visiting science museums daily. I loved to learn along with him.

I didn't have other options. Each public or private school was the same experience. After a month, the teacher made my son teach higher mathematics to upper grades, a task that he did not enjoy. Older students and classmates made fun of him because he was smart. He skipped grades and this only proved to be a bad decision socially. Intelligence did not bring respect or friendship. I taught him to be kind to everyone and this virtue brought on stress. If he had met aggression with aggression, he might have created friends, but they would have been the wrong friends. It was never a win-win scenario.

By his eigth grade year, I unschooled him. He heard that the public middle school allowed homeschooled boys to play football. Max was twice the size of other boys. Of course, the coach wanted Max on the team.

There we were in the kitchen. I reminded him that he promised me to go to every practice if I went out of my way to get him on the team. Honestly, I wasn't concerned about his pledge. Instead, it was more important for Max to live up to himself. His honor and integrity mattered more. Self worth is learned the hard way.

I listened to him yell, cry, plead, stomp, and slam cabinet doors for over an hour. I never countered by yelling or demanding or judging. I simply remained calm and actively listened. He wrestled with himself until he stopped suddenly. He wiped his eyes. Then, I drove him to the field.

Max exited our car. I stayed behind. My eyes followed him onto the pitch. He walked over to the coach, shook hands. He sat down on the grass and watched the team practice. He wasn't dressed in uniform.

At the end, he joined me in the car. He was silent. The next day, we arrived early at the field.

He looked at me and said, "Thanks Mom. No one else would have done that for me."

He went on to play football all of his years in high school and was assistant coach his senior year.

Since that moment, that day, when we shared something special, he has protected me and treated me like my sacred guardian.

Before that day and during those years, I experienced multiple strokes from aneurysms. Max was not able to accept that I might die. My daughter and husband accepted it but not Max. He refused to let me die.

A few months ago, I had serious anaphylactic shock and third degree burns from allergic reaction. I was on my back for two weeks over Christmas. Max checked on me every hour and throughout the long painful nights. Recently, I had a massive seizure from my dissecting carotid artery. It is dissecting from the inside out. My son always makes sure that I am okay. He stands by me at all times. He still won't accept that I will die one day. It just won't be anytime soon. We have many things to do before then.

Blessings,
Katherine

Wow Katherine !
What a story and what a special relationship ! So glad you will stick around to do those many things !
I think my son has that sort of intelligence too, although he chose to hide it, I think for the social aspect. He even flunked 10th grade, when I knew he could have taken and passed the years worth of tests on day one. He made it up over the summer and the story has a happy ending. He said I was the only one to stand by him no matter what (I'm proud of that) It's amazing what they can put you through to get to that happy ending, but I wouldn't trade it !
Blessings for you !

Good day to you Mike, my name is Ken and I thank you for the follow. I'm following you back. We have very similar beliefs and values that we hold precious in our lives. You have done well to raise your children to show respect for what deserves respect and to question all else.
WA holds potential that allows anyone (including myself), the ability to learn different ways to earning an income other than trading time for money. I am getting to the point that time is more precious than gold and would like very much to have both at the same time. lol
WA also gives us all the ability to network with one another to form alliances that can make us stronger, and build a business that benefits us all. I look forward to working with you for the greater good and wish you much success in your journey.

Good evening, Mike--

Thank you for networking with me. I am adding you to my network, too.

I love your bio. You sound like a real stand-up guy and I appreciate your feelings against violence toward animals, women, and children. I feel the exact same.

I, too, have two children, 18 and 20. They are not pursuing college, however. My 20 year old has chosen to go right to work and is trying to decide exactly what she wants to do with her life. I was not a college girl myself, and I can't fault her for sharing my feelings on the matter. My 18-year-old son has technically graduated high school this past June, but he is somewhat special needs and so is attending a 12+ program that takes him to vocational technical school for the morning and work study in the afternoon. He has always been very self-confident and very sure of exactly who he is and what he wants to accomplish in the future. I am glad he gets this extra time to still be a youth in high school. :)

Have not been spending as much time here as I would like lately, like hardly at all. Been working a lot of hours at my new job. Planning to spend some time here tomorrow and see what I can get done.

Looking forward to seeing you around the platform here. I hope you are finding success here now, and will in the future.

Very good for you ! Still getting close to time for a new chapter as those kids get ready to fly on their own. I keep threatening to actually get my own life sometimes !
Bittersweet though because I miss having them in the very center of my time. There is still nothing more important to me, but they take much less time these days !
Best to you Linda, and please reach out if I can help in any way !

Trying to learn how to piece it all together. May be that If I had found out about WA first I could have learned all I needed here. Oh well I guess you can never have to much training.

Hi Mike, I can relate. In my younger years I was a Single parent raising 4 children. 3 of them were teenagers at the same time. It was a shocking experience, as I really didn't know how teenagers acted.... But I am 83 years old now, and I'm STILL Here.
Looking forward to this new endeavor with Wealthy Affiliates.
I am "Stuck" as I am trying to set up my website. Any help would be appreciated

The Westerns are my favourite. The ol' Cowboy movies and the scenery. Even the series like The Virginian, Maverick etc. They were great series. Nowadays all we watch is reality TV programs. Well in Australia anyway. I hardly watch TV.

Hi Mike! Glad to connect with you. I hope that you are meeting all your goals here at WA and moving forward toward your success.

I enjoyed reading your profile. I can't get over how much your life mirrors my own. I too love the old cowboys shows and with cable I am able to go back and see all the old time ones I used to watch as a kid!

I too made my children to center of my life and my every goal was to make sure they had everything they needed and some of what they wanted! We are very close and 2 of the three are off living their own lives. However, I can't seem to get rid of the youngest (who just turned 29)! But, he is company in the house for me. LOL!

Like you I had to take the bull by the horn and start to live my own dreams that I out off for so many years. This takes a lot of hard work, but I am determined to see it through whether it takes me 6 months or 6 years (hope that is not the case thought!).

Journey well my friend!
