This is probably a silly question. In the past I would welcome new WA premium members. But with the new platform I can't seem to find them. lol

It is Dec 5th and today I can't find new premium members either😏

Yes, same here.

I just scrollled down on rhe Home page and saw the new members. So I guess it is back up.

Hugh

Thanks, Hugh. I'll check it out.

Mickey, I read yesterday that there was a problem and they removed the facility whilst they fixed it. I think it was Kyle who said it would be back soon. It returned to my home page later, hope it hasn’t gone again. They will fix it.
Bux

Thanks, Bux. That is good to know.

They no longer have this. You're not the only one who's asked about it though, so we're hoping they'll bring them back.

I think they are working on it, Cynthia!

Thanks, Cynthia, it's good to know I'm not the only one not finding them. I thought it was me. lol

Thanks, Jeff. That's good to know.

You're very welcome, Mickey!

Jeff

Click on home and as you scroll down you will see the "say hello to" section, Mickey!

Jeff

I welcomed some new members on the Home dashboard, Carla! There have been some people who can't find it, and it may be that it has been temporarily stopped while a few bugs are sorted out!

Jeff

Thanks Jeff! Glad to hear they are working on it.

I welcomed some new premium members the other day with no problem. But for some reason, I'm having a problem now locating them. Maybe some sort of glitch now?

Just this morning, I scrolled down past several posts and found them, Mickey!

Jeff

You're very welcome, Carla!

You bet!

I believe it is fixed now

Thanks, Jeff. I'll check it out.

I think you are right, Lisa!

You bet, Mickey!

Upon adding the favicon image, what title do I give it? Do I treat it like a normal image and describe it or just call it favicon?

I have always just treated it like a normal image

Thanks Richard!

My Pleasure

I try to name my favicon the same as my site name. Probably doesn't matter, but I figure might as well for branding purposes.

Thanks, Nathaniell, that's a great idea. I will do that.

Exactly!
If you have tons of folders with images, name it something you can remember...That way, you can find it easily to use again.
What I do is create a folder for that project. Keeps it simple.

Thanks, Rudy, that's a great idea.

Oh, heavens, yes!
I have tons of folders of just images, I had to create relative folders to find the images quicker than going through them all...grin.

For the Media Library, it doesn't actually really matter, as the favicon doesn't use any of that data. But it might help you search for it if you have 100's or 1,000's of images in there.

Thanks, Chrystopher, that's great to know.

You're welcome :-)

Hi Mickey - In title do you mean what appears on the tab?

No, not what appears on the tab. Just the name of the picture itself.

About 90% of my emails from here go to spam. I have checked my account settings, no problems there.

If I click not spam, they move to the inbox for all of about 10-15

Hi! I have a yahoo account too. it might be that yahoo does not recognize the emails from WA and sees them as spam.

Try this: open one of the emails from WA and click on the link to access your WA profile, this way you give yahoo the ok that WA emails are not spam.
I enter my WA account through one of the emails I get from WA on yahoo.
stay safe
greetings
pat

I haven't tried accessing my WA profile through the email. I will give that a shot. Thanks, Pat, I appreciate it. Stay safe.

Hey Mickey, I'm using 'Outlook' and have a similar issue with many going straight to 'Spam' or 'junk'. Apart from moving them over using the 'Not Junk' button, I'm not sure what the remedy is.
My better half thought it may be because we delete so many of the ones we're not going to read and the program then assumes that they aren't worthy of your inbox.
I've not had it where they move back after I have moved them, an oddity for sure.

That's a very good guess as to why Twack! I never thought of that!

Jeff

Neither had I until my good lady mentioned it, makes some kind of sense though.

It does, indeed!

Exactly! Many going straight to spam but not all. Some end up in the inbox, no problems. Yep, this is definitely an oddity.

I think your better half may be right. Lately I haven't been able to get to all of my WA emails. So..I eventually delete them, along with questions that I don't have an answer for.

Thanks, Twack, I appreciate it.

Jeff, I think so too. That might just be the problem.

No problem Mickey, you are always most welcome. My stomach drops sometimes when I have managed through all of my notifications, only to then find there's half a dozen or more in the 'Junk' folder. Sigh.

With Yahoo, go to your spam folder. Check the box next to the email you want to go to your regular inbox. Click "More" which is located to the right of the spam tab. Click "Filter" from the drop-down menu. Make sure it's directed to your inbox and click "Save".

Thanks, David, I just haven't been able to get that to work. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I'll give it another try. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.

Hi Mick,
Did the white listing work?
If it doesn’t , while don’t you try creating an email using your domain, then send message to your yahoo mail fort and back.
That’s what I usually do with my regular email and schoo. Not sure if it apply to website.
Hope you get it sorted out.
Please let me know how things go.

hey hi Mick ... good question and it looks like the awesome WA community of members have got some helpful replies for you ...

if Yahoo behaves similar or same as Gmail, then, Jason (RedWatkins) have got it for ya ... and I also use Gmail, so my reply would be the same in that WAy ...

hope it gets sorted out well for you soon ...

When applying to affiliate programs through CJ or ShareASale and having multiple websites, I'm assuming the only way to specify which website you will be using their program on

On ShareASale, when you are applying to a program there's a box right under "Join This Program" where you can add additional information. Just write a short note saying that you want to use that merchant for your other domain. The merchants do get to see that when reviewing your application.

When we have applied some ask for the blog/website details and any social media presence you have related to the their market.
Others are not so bothered.
We joined AWIN and looked for vendors from there.
It is probably always a good idea to have some content relating to the vendors market that you can send them to show how serious you are.

Hope this helps
Gaz

One of the things I love most about our interface (I work for Awin.com) is that you can list all of your promotional spaces in the interface. Then, when applying, you can select which URL you intend to use. It makes things so much easier for both the merchants and the affiliates!

I was just accepted into two affiliate programs that will be part of the new site I am putting together. Both also included a space for designating any other site I decided to add later.

Interestingly, one of the programs can be applied for through CJ or directly. CJ rejected me citing that my site was new and unproven.

I decided I would apply directly because there are products I really want to market plus know the products and genre. By applying directly to the vendor there was space to give a more detailed explanation of the new site and I was quickly approved and immediately sent codes for images and text.

I would think once we get in with a vendor and show some success adding another site should not be a problem. I don't know if this helps you but it is what I have just learned.

regards,
David Lewis

That's wonderful to know, David, about applying directly. It's great to be able to provide details and explain yourself. Because what I find with CJ is you click the button and off your request goes. No option of adding any info.

I must say I hadn't thought of applying direct. Thank you for that information. This helps a lot.

Hi Mickie, In my experience I apply in the most relevant website and usually once you join there is an option to add websites once you join. I did this with Amazon. I added more once I joined.

In one of the trainings, Kyle said not to have multiple accounts with affiliates if it can be avoided. It makes it hard for affiates to track your commission.

Thanks Jen

Hi Jen, that's how I have ShareASale set up too. I have one website as main and two additional websites. I figure that's what I will do I'll apply in the most relevant. But then my concern is the site being fairly new. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.

Good way to have it set up within your ShareASale account (I'm the ShareASale representative here at WA). If you have a good history of success with your other sites, merchants can see that as well, which helps make things easier in getting a newer site approved.

That's a good question.

I am a member of a few affiliate networks including cJ and SAS and I place their merchants links in all my websites with a corresponding post or blog.

I don't remember if they have asked for a specific website to place their links.

I will have to inquire about that.

I have received commissions from the links.

That's great news. Good to know that you place the links on all your websites. Thanks for your help.

What is the correct way to check where my page ranks in Google while incognito mode? Do I use quotation marks? I've read yes, and others say no to using quotation marks.

<

You got some good info BUT I would have to disagree and say you should NOT use quotation marks when checking your rank.

The point of using incognito is to see where you rank for keywords when other searches. Other people do not use quotation marks and therefore you should also not if you want to see how you rank.

actually that's not the point the point is to see where you rank for certain keywords and if you don't put them in quotation marks you get one or all of the words in all of the searches which doesn't give you the answer where you rank for certain keywords

putting quotation marks will not show you where you rank for certain keywords as it is not how people naturally search. The result you will then see will be useful to determine how you are ranking because even if you rank at the top when you search with quotation marks it will tell you nothing about how you will show up when people naturally search which is what really matters.

Why would you want to know where you are in the search results for specific keywords if it is not how people usually search?

What matters is where you are ranking for a natural search. But no matter what, incognito mode is not the most precise way to check rankings but should mostly just be used for a quick idea and a quick check if you have moved up or down. But it still does not give a completely neutral view as it still takes your location into consideration.

you're not looking for what how people naturally search you are looking for whether that keyword ranks and the page rank that it ranks on. It has nothing to do with how people search on the Internet. You can’t see PageRank when you search but it is an algorithm behind the scenes,

but my point is that you will NOT see how you really rank when you use quotation marks. And as mentioned incognito mode is in general not the best way to check rankings anyway.

But seems we just have to agree to disagree:-)

it seems we will. I guess we can both agree that it's worth upgrading to Jaaxy pro to be able to see an accurate page rank

That we can agree on:-) But I actually prefer also combining that with Google Search Console to see international rankings as well.

Thanks, Mikael, I appreciate your help.

That's good to know about the incognito mode, too. Thanks.

@MikaelM is correct. Using quotes to check your rank is the incorrect way to do it.

The only reason you use quotes when searching is to check your COMPETITION, since it turns up results which contain that exact phrase.

However, considering that Google will display results for a search query even if they do not contain your exact search phrase, it doesn't help you to look at your rank using quotes. Doing that would give you incomplete search results.

Actually, the easiest way to check your rank is to use Jaaxy's Rank Tracker. Click the RESEARCH tab on the left to get started with Jaaxy, but Kyle will show you how to use it in the training as well.

Hi Mickey! Great answer there by Catherine! Cheers. - Florentino

Yes, it is. Thanks for stopping by, Florentino.

But of course. You are welcome, Mickey!

Question marks don't answer your question.. The reason you use quotation marks is this if you type in your keyword let's say for this example it is baking bread. In that instance you will get every website that has the word baking in its meta tag and also bread so you will get things like baking potatoes for Sunday lunch or bread sauce for Christmas dinner.

When you put quotation marks around "baking bread", it it if you like contains those two words. It means that the words baking bread or the words between the quotation marks have to appear in that order.

It doesn't stop baking bread at Easter time from coming up because the two words are in the same order but something's been added to it.

So use quotation marks around your keywords. Hope this makes it a bit clearer

Makes it clearer for me, I never understood the relevance before. Thank you.

Thanks, Catherine, it sure does. I appreciate your help.
