Which countries are excluded from the free WA membership?

It turned out that this is a very helpful blog, because I understand that I can congratulate these countries that they have been admitted to the free starter membership of Wealthy Affiliate

The fortunated countries are:

  • Bangladesh
  • Egypt
  • Ghana
  • India
  • Kenya
  • Morocco
  • Pakistan
  • Philippines
  • Vietnam

I am very pleased that they are allowed to the free starter membership again.

Still Blacklisted

  • Nigeria is blacklisted and banned for normal access. However, they can get access through a VPN account.


    "A     VPN, or Virtual Private Network, allows you to create a secure connection to another network over the Internet. VPNs can be used to access region-restricted websites."

    The explanation Cherry, that I read is that some of the countries are very heavy spam generating countries. They hope to discourage people from joining the free portion just to spam us from some of these places. At least that Is what I read. G

    Yes, it has two sides:
    1. to prevent spamming
    2. only seriously sincere inquisitive people from those countries will become members

    Why would that be? I thought the free starter is for everyone. I am bit confused on this.

    It's only because of heavy spam and spambots that were coming in from those points is all. A free starter account would be made and then the user or bot would try to blow up the members area with spam. To stop that, the free starter account option was removed from those entry points. I do remember however that Kyle mentioned recently that this has dramatically curbed spam from coming in from most of those points and now only one country (Nigeria?) has a ban.

    Due to real heavy spamming from starter members from these countries, Kyle and Carson decided that people from there only can start with a premium membership.
    Everyone can become a member here, but not everyone can start with the free membership

    Hi Loes, I read previously that these countries can now register as free member except Nigeria maybe around February 2019.

    Did they reverted the decision?

    Here is the link. It's for India but have tried it before in the Philippines.

    Haven't read the official announcement though but some seems to have read the email regarding this.

    Haven't seen any confirmation as well. But I tested it myself. I created a test account here in PH and was able to register as free member few months back.

    I wanted to see the official announcement as well.
