What Is Standing In Your Way Of Success
Is money the most important thing life?
Money is a means of gaining experience. You need to pay your clothes, home, and transport. Some people think money is bad or makes you less spiritual. They have negative thoughts about money. But that is not necessary.
Is it bad to pay money for your mortgage? Or is it bad to pay money for your food?
Money is the root of all evil
These beliefs hold you back
- Money is the root of all evil.
- Money is not important, you do not need it.
- Money is bad.
- You are materialistic if you want money.
- Only greedy bankers have money.
- If you want more money, at the expense of your integrity.
- To earn more, you have to work with your elbows.
- Money does not grow on the trees.
- If you're born for a dime, you'll never become a quarter.
- The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
Money isn't good or bad
Money is neutral. Money is just a form of energy. You can do good and bad things with money.
Is money important?
In our system, yes. Money is important. You can buy clothes, shoes, and food with it. You can pay for your education, mortgage, and travels.
Do you need money to become happy?
Do not mix up money with happiness, they are not redeemable. When I go to the shop to buy food, I can not pay with 1kg happiness. Neither can I pay for my groceries with a bucket of love.
Money and my time are redeemable. I can pay with time/work for my groceries.
Money and items are redeemable. I can swap items to get groceries.
I can't pay with happiness
- delete the thought right now that money can buy you happiness.
- delete the thought right now that money can buy you success.
- delete the thought right now that money can buy you love.
Success and Money
Which people are successful?
- Someone who had the dream to become a bus driver and became a bus driver.
- Someone who had the dream to become a millionaire and became a millionaire.
- Someone who had the dream to become financially independent and became financially independent.
- Someone who wanted to become a teacher and became a teacher.
- Someone who wanted to become.... and became.....
Either way, you determine yourself. And you determine what success means to you. There's a secret, a key, a key you need to be successful. Ask 1000 people on the street and nobody can tell you what the secret of success is.
This key and the secret to success are described among other things in the most famous book in the world: The Bible
Mark 9-23: "All things are possible to him who believes."
Not only in the Bible, but also different historical persons agree on this point unanimously:
Marcus Aurelius: "The universe is change; Our life is what our thoughts make of it. "
Ralph Waldo Emerson: "A man is what he thinks about all day long."
The key and the secret of success are:
"You become what you think about"
Unconcious thoughts, doubts, and fear will never bring you anything. Whether you want success, money, fulfillment, a job ... or whatever you've got on your list.
Replace your negative thoughts of I haven't, I can't, I won't, for positive ones as I have, I can, I am.

Fear and inconsistency is standing in the way of my success. I think the reason I'm inconsistent is not because there isn't a shortage of ideas and things for me to write about for my website and niche, it's the fear that my content isn't good enough and that people won't care what I have to say. This is something I definitely need to overcome to truly be successful.
There is always one person who is interested in what you have to tell among the billiards of possible readers, write for that one person, Brian!
Excellent post, Loes! Many people are confused about what the Bible says about money. It doesn't say that money is the root of all evil. It says the LOVE of money is the root of all evil. The reason why it is harder for a rich man to get into Heaven than to go through the eye of a needle is that most rich people have put their trust in their riches instead of God. Many people have "poor mentality" and have trouble envisioning anything else. Some people do believe that being poor makes you more spiritual. God doesn't look at the riches you have accumulated or not accumulated; but on the condition of your heart.
Thanks Loes. :)
That's right Jean, when you love money more than that you are concerned of your brothers and sisters, that's what is meant in the Bible
Great post Loes!... I do believe money is really important in our lives, and it can't be replace in the area that is use for. To a certain extend I think we all see the importance of money, it's just that some people associate it with really negative situations.
It's not about the money in fact, it's about all the things we can do with it. I believe we should all live in abundance, and that can't be achieve if we don't have sufficient money to get the things that are important for us.
Thanks for this post!

There is enough on this earth for everybody to live a comfortable life, there is only not enough for everyone's greed
Sorry Loes, I do believe that money is the root of all evil. Because it is true. But that doesn't hold me back from making money. That statement of money is the root of all evil, is for those who are greedy and will do anything to get it. I do believe we need a balanced view of money. For those who have a balanced view, that statement is not a draw back from making money.
Money is a tool, just as guns are, and cars are. You can use those tools responsibly and you can use those tools as a maniac.
Hello, Marjorie. It is written: The love of money is a root of all kind of evil. (not money itself).
Thank you. Root cause, similar to saying a car is the root of all car accidents. But we still drive them because, it is the driver of the car that has the accidents. I just wish more people really understood what that means. And I accept what is written and again agree with you, the root cause, not the money's fault some people as greedy.
Great post Loes. As a tool money can be compared with a tool for killing, a gun.
A gun can be used to create food and as a recreational sport. When people use it to kill each other it becomes something abusive.
Money can be used by people and institutions in different ways.
Governments use it to control.
Ordinary people need it to buy food and clothes. the usages cannot be compared.
So how we use money is more important than the money itself.
There are also rich people who are quiet philanthropists.
The guilt people often feel of wanting more money is often inherited from parents and as such has little real use or value.
It comes down to the intention which drives the successful drive for more money.
I ask myself: "What are my reasons for wanting more" and they are genuine and valid. They will enable my family to have a better quality of life.
When you do the things with love, and not because you have to, the money will follow you. Love and abundance are one
I went through my phase of thinking that those who sought out money were greedy individuals. I kept saying "I just need enough to get by". Consequently, I only ever had enough to just get by... I have been working full time for 28 years and never had more than $1,000 in the bank.
Then I started worrying about not having money for my future and always "being broke." Those thoughts led to me-- you guessed it-- being broke.
Now I am mature enough to realise that money is simply a tool. Just as you wouldn't try to nail two boards together without a hammer, you need money to accomplish certain things. Wanting to have the tools you need to accomplish something isn't a bad thing.
Actually Loes the exact Bibical quote is strictly that "the LOVE of money is the root of all evil and not money in and of itself. It is a subtle and important discussion. Without money none of us would have a convenient means to exchange goods & services, including food, water & shelter, which might put us all in a tricky place! It is our OBSESSION with the green stuff that brings on unhappiness, I think. I remember many years ago when I was first living in the USA and we had some new friends over for dinner. My father, like his father before him, and for generations before, had been handing down a painting. My guests gawked at it and remarked "Wow! That must be worth thousands of dollars!". I was nonplussed - it had zero cash value to me. It was simply a work of art for which I later would have the obligation and responsibility to pass down to my son! L learned that day the importance of the mighty greenback in American culture but could never grasp the obbession of so many in what is simply a tool of convenience to ensure we might our needs & wants in life.
One of the reasons I am here is to lift the handicap of college debt off the shoulders of my 3 sons - this is not a burden I wish them to carry thru life!

I have given quite some things away, a friend of me loved my little antique side table so much, and she said that every time she came to my place. One day she threw a BBQ with an open fire pit in her garden, and I wrapped the side table into carton board and wrote on it with a big red text:
FIREWOOD
If we don't like the money we should not be here. We should not be thinking of doing a business on the online and offline.
I may even refute what Apostle Paul laid down that "the love of money is the root of all evil". If I was present when he was teaching I would have questioned him. Why? I agree with him on the phrase "the love of money is the root of evil" but I disagree when he says that all evil comes from the love of money.
Rape is not of money, not all murder cases are caused by the love of money, many died because of hatred and barbaric acts.
But I love Apostle Paul, he is a genius, he is honest to himself. He lived to his faith even to death.
The love of money and the use of money are 2 different things. It's all about what you do with money.
Even when you want to be an apostle of the Lord, you need to have money to pay for your food, clothing, roof and for Bibles to distribute.
Do not mix up love for money and need of money.
Loes, would you want that I will delete my comment? I read the name of Paul so I stressed a point to explain something on his teaching about money. It's another point that arises from your post and my comment has no connection if that would be missing.
Wonderful post Loes. Strong lesson here.
Success is in the eye of the beholder. Money is not happiness. Happiness is happiness, and everyone has their own definition that makes them happy.
Money is a tool, a means to an end, but is not happiness. Happiness comes as a combination of how we see ourselves, our self-worth, our role of importance to the community, etc..
Money can help to make you more comfortable and independent, which can help to make you happier, but the myth is that money alone can make you happy.
All you need to do is read the many stories of how many successful multi-millionaire celebrities who have achieved tremendous wealth ARE MISERABLE and DEPRESSED or in rehabilitation, and this will prove money alone cannot make a person happy.
That's right Kaju, the fulfillment of your dreams makes you happy.
I have a lovely husband

This list you shared is so RICH in and of itself and worth well more than millions and millions of dollars!

Awesome post Loes! I agree money is neither. I use to hear it was just a tool. We need it to survive and in some cases we don't need it. Like you said for happiness.
I like the fact that you went over the limiting beliefs as well. This is a great way to change the mindset by stopping those negative thoughts. Or it will hold one back...
I love your quotes. I added another one that was very good as well.
“You are the master of your destiny. You can influence, direct and control your own environment. You can make your life what you want it to be.”
