About JeanBrickley
Joined August 2016
I am a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. I'm also a gospel singer and songwriter and play guitar. The last about 9 years I have been taking care of my mother and dad who both died within this year. I gained a lot of experience taking care of them and I miss them a lot but now I need to fill that empty space with something productive. I'm excited to get started on a new venture.

6 months update.

It's hard to believe I have been here six months! I guess I'm not considered a "newbie" any more. I have really been enjoying my journey here. WA has filled the gap left in my life after my parents death. You my good friends, have played a very large part in that. Your encouragement has kept me here. In honor of 6 months; I have changed my profile picture, and adding this update.

I have learned so much in six months. I wasn't completely computer illiterate when I joined; but I was pretty much online affiliate marketing illiterate. Now I have a website with content that is growing. I have joined some affiliates and began to monetize my site. I am breaking in to social media despite my phobia of it. I have come a long way. Thank you all for being there for me!

Love & Prayers,

Jeannie

Very commendable what you are doing Jean, I know because I lost my mother and grandparents all within a year and another loved one more recently.
Wonderful you are a gospel singer, wow! ...something else we share in common, And you play guitar, check! I played guitar for the Don't Give Up Choir of Japan at Gospelfest 2011, how do you like that. So we share many things in common.
I wish you great continued success at WA, and thank you for following me.

Thank you. You are most likely a much better guitar player than me. I'm more of a singer and song writer. I just chord along with my songs. I wish you all the best.

My Mom passed in 2010 and my Dad is now 90. I am single and was sent home from San Francisco to take care of him until he passes. It is such a blessing to do so.

I do not believe anything dies, they just become something else in another dimension. Energy never dies, it just changes.

That being said, the void we feel when loved ones pass is real and something to get used to in time.

I am glad you had WA to fill the void and give you something to excel at.

I wish you many Blessings on your journey!

Thanks Doug. I wish many blessings for you too. Take good care of your father. Don't be afraid to stand up to Drs. They are human and often wrong. Check the medications he is being given. I came across some that was prescribed and it said on the net that they weren't to be give to the elderly. You are his advocate and can speak on his behalf. God bless. Jeannie

Hi Jeannie,
I loved one of the articles that you posted on your site, very religious in nature and one I feel many human beings in this world would benefit from reading!

I wish you much success in whatever online business that you have chosen to pursue here at WA!

I also feel for you, having to take care of my mom when she passed away in 2012. A very difficult thing to do regarding any aged parent.

Sincerely,
Jeff

Hello Jean,♫Welcome! Nice to meet you ツ I wish you a lot of learning pleasure and fun on WA. Thank you for following me.

From the start, I have written training for every issue I had problems with myself. I also made a list of 1001 niche ideas, a checklist with 25 points to go through before you publish a post, 101 blogging ideas when you get stuck and an A-Z WA dictionary. I just love lists:) It has been very helpful to a lot of people. I have listed them in one blog you can find on my profile. It's the first website link on the right (click on my picture to get there). I hope to help you with those.

If you have any questions, please add a comment to this message or leave them on my profile.

You have a wonderful website. I wish you every success with your objective - to be a source of information for Seniors. My first web site is about my family's history and I am now contemplating a WA site encouraging Seniors here in Edmonton, Alberta to consider learning enough about computer to go online.

I belong to SAGE (Seniors Association of Greater Edmonton) were I have joined the "Singers of Old Time Songs" and the "Novel Club".

How did you mange to get in the top 50 so quickly? I have been here every day for the past 11 months and went to ranking in the 300's and then back to 1,300's. Training and researching ancestors just took too much time. In the last week made it back below 1,000. T

Perhaps it is because I read Leo Emery's "10 Tips on How To Succeed with Affiliate Marketing" here on WA.

That is exactly what I did. I was ranked in the 300's and heading lower, but all my time was spent reading, replying and commenting on emails in WA. I stopped and did more training, worked on a website and researched ancestors. Then my ranking sored to 1,300's. Now I am trying to reach a happy medium between training, communicating, website and making some extra money.

Thanks for following me. Welcome to WA. It seems like you must know what you are doing; just joining and ranking 113. Hopefully the rest of your ventures are just as successful. I haven't been able to do much with WA lately. Got myself involved with something else which I will share with everybody when the time is right. I wish you all the best with WA and all your ventures. Take care.

Well I wish the ranking did mean that I was knowledgeable. It is more about connecting here on WA. Writing blogs and commenting on other people's blogs. I'm still pretty green when it comes to websites and internet marketing. I'm learning though and enjoying the journey. There is no time frame we have to fit in to here. When you get your other project done, WA will still be here.

It must be awesome to be a great grandmother! :) I never knew any of my grand parents unfortunately. Sadly, my daughter's great grandmother is on her last so I take her to see her as much as I can and take lots of pictures for her to look at in her future. Its very important to me so I hope that she cherishes them also.

So sorry for losing your parents this year. I know it must be tough. My hubby's parents have lost or are losing their moms within a couple of months. I haven't personally dealt with a lot of death but I know it is tough. I hope that God continues to uplift your spirits.

I hope that you are successful in all of your endeavors and spoil your grand and great grand babies...and maaaybe your children if they're good to you ;) lol! jking :) All of them!

Take care!

Thank you for your condolences. My dad died in March but I still miss him a lot. My mother died about 7 months before my dad; but she had dementia so it was almost like I lost her a longer time ago. I take comfort in knowing I will see them again in Heaven.
I like the idea of the irritation of the sand inside the oyster making a pearl. It illustrates how our adversities form and grow us into who we are and who we were meant to be.

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Hi Nathaniell.

I am using my Boot Camp website as a learning website since all is new to me. I geared my site toward retirees and will be writing my posts and pages accordingly.

I know some people build multiple sites right away; but I prefer to learn on this one site for now. I have several ideas for niches, as I am a person who has varied interests. I want to take my time, and learn as much as I can from this website before I start niche websites. Perhaps then, I will make less mistakes.

In the future I would like to write an e-book; but I want to have patience to achieve my goals. I don't want to overwhelm myself. I want to enjoy the journey.

I have one question. How soon is too soon to sign my website up for the Google Affiliate program?

Thanks again.

Jeannie

Does Google have an affiliate program? Or do you mean Google Adsense?

You can sign up at any time, but I would wait until you have at least 20-50 visitors per day. Before that, it's not really worth it. You'll make a penny or so per day. Best to work on content first, then get Adsense.

Careful not to click your own ads when you do! That'll get you banned from Adsense (happened to me!)

Jean, I see you are making some good progress through the Affiliate Bootcamp. Just wanted to pop by and see if you need a hand with anything?

I also wanted to mention the success rates of Bootcamp. Absolutely everyone that has taken action on all of the phases of Bootcamp has a business that is generating consistent income online. MANY of these folks are going to be at our super affiliate conference next year.

I want this to be you and I want you to succeed with your promotions. So, please promise me that if you ever need a hand or feel stuck as you move forward, that you will get in touch with me!

Trust me, I know things can be a little overwhelming sometimes and I don't want you feeling like that.

Hi Kyle.

Thanks for checking on me.

I went back over some of the lessons and did some things I missed. My website is coming along slowly. The health is getting better.

I do have two questions for you. When I am working on my desktop, there is a very large WA banner that covers a fourth of my page. Since I can't move it, it sometimes covers some of my side menu. Is there anyway I can make it smaller or remove it?

Also, on my desktop, when I want to write a new blog on WA, the rules of blogging are attached to the top of the blog page. This is very limiting, because I can't use italics, bold, bullets, or center. I'm assuming the menu is hidden under the blog rules. Then there are several dots going vertically on the page I type on. I just ignore them, though. I like using the desktop because I can put pictures in on it. I'm not sure how I can do that on my phone or Kindle. I can't right click to select and copy.

Is there any way to remove the blog rules from the top of my blog screen?

I hope you will be able to help me with these two limiting problems.

Thank you.

Jeannie

The blog rules, I am not quite sure what you are referring to. Are you referring to the blog here at Wealthy Affiliate or are you referring to your Wordpress blog.

Also, the banner if you want to drop me your website URL and I will give you a hand here.

I am talking about the blog screen here at WA. When I click on the pen and then "write a new blog", the new blog screen has the blog rules attached to the top of it. I think it is hiding my menu that allows me to write in italics, bold, center, etc.
The banner is on as soon as I sign in to WA. I don't think it is on my website.

Ah yes, those rules only are there the first time you create a blog post. Simply read those and click to close it. Then you will be able to blog without issue Jean. :)

You shouldn't see any banner there any longer.

What browser are you using and are you trying to work from a phone or are you using your desktop.
