I´m trying to log onto WA to answer mails and add a page to site comments. I´m Receiving a Site Security Warning When I Try To Enter WA. Is the Platform experienc

All secure now and running normal.

Not just yet, they are still working on the underlying issues, but we can at least log in now :-)

I had the same issue just awhile ago, then ended up being able to sort of get on the site with only html text showing, but now it's showing up as normal. Possibly something to do with a new SSL certificate if I remember correctly it's happened with other sites at times.

Hope you'll find it resolved soon!
Best wishes :) ~Sherry

Thank you Sherry.

It did, yes, with the SiteRubix domain name and with our own websites hosted at WA

I'm certain they'll have it under control soon. Jim

The main SSL Certificate expired today and we’re awaiting a new one to be applied by SiteSupport

Most reassuring Chris. Thank you.

I think there might be a problem with this site: http://digitalmarketingveteran.com/?p=35 as when I try to open it to read it for site comments, it shows as unavailable?

Are you aware it is http vs https
http://digitalmarketingveteran.com

You need reach out to site support
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/support

Thanks Abbie. Well spotted. I was trying to draw site support`s attention to the site as it came up in site feedback and there was an error page. There needs to be another button to access site support for these problems as it has happened to me before. Its a technical issue and the page is holding up comments on other sites.

1. A question about WA Starter Membership please. Are they limited to 1000 visits a month? If so, how are the 1000 visits per month (bandwidth) defined or

... all good questions surely ... too much detailed info. for me to recall so here's a WA link that you might find helpful detailing starter vs Premium....

....suggest you just might encourage your referral to see the light and simply go Premium to build a serious on line successful biz ...

... all the best ....

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/banners/show/comparison-chart.jpg

each site visit is counted - sso if Joe Bloggs visits once per day then that will be counted as a visit per day...
after the number of visits are up for the month then you may get a site unobtainable page...
starter members don't get access to the emails on here as they get one siterubix site and you don't get emails with those
and you don't get access to hosting with a starter account for domains.....
q3 is not relevant ....no emails - so no emails sent or received - but it is seperate from the site....
if you are talking about a visitor filling in the contact form on their site the that wiill add to their visits per site -but the link will need to be to their own email system or autoresponder
and as they cannot add plugins they may not be able to set this up - unless the get access to an autoresponder...
have fun
phil
remember starters have their sites deleted after 6 months if they don't upgrade to premium- this was determined as enough time to decide to upgrade....

Thank you feigner. Really clear. Appreciated.

Grateful for a steer from those more experienced with WP. Does adding "Alternative Text" to pictures add any SEO value to the page or Post?

Best Regards,

Trevor

Yes, it does and also make your images searchable.

Thank you Stanley.

Hi guys...is this what you are talking about entering the alt tag here in site content? And whether it's linked anywhere or not?

Yes, I add alt tag in Site Content, but sometimes if I change the image or add more, I can do it on WP back office as well.
I don't usually link mine anywhere.

Yes, because sometimes your visitor looking for images. And one more, you can also give your images file name in your computer with the keywords that will be targeted.

Yes. I've noticed when I put the keyword in the image title, it ranks faster.

Very good point.

Thank you !

Thank you so much.

Not really sure if this is correct, but I read an article from reliablesoft.net that said the alt text was originally intended to describe the image to those that are hard of hearing.

I understood that the description should be very literal.

Which means you should choose your images carefully; they should be as relevant to your content as possible.

In the article, it did not say you should work your keyword into the description necessarily.

But descriptions that relate the image to the keyword boost your SEO.

So what's the best practice here guys?

Visually impaired not deaf.
Alt text is good for SEO. Do It!

As Labman says, the primary purpose of alt text is to help the visually impaired (not hearing impaired) who may be using voice readers. It also helps Google identify what the image is about so, combined, Google likes alt text and will reward you for using it appropriately. And if you can get your keyword in as well then so much the better.
Philip

Yes. Right. Sorry. Brain fart.

Pffffft!

Oops!

Hey Trevor,
I'm in agreement with the other answers. Alt text for images is important to SEO. I use them all the time.

I was surprised to find my new Siterubix site has already been indexed on Google just 2 days after I wrote my first article. I`m pleased of course, but I wanted to understand

... looks like the awesome WA community of members have jumped into to assist you with your question .... lol .... it's all good!

... yes, if you've got a domain name that you want and it's available -- recommend you grab it as it may or may not be available later! ...there's a saying, 'he who hesitates is lost.' ...
so best to not develop a habit of procrastination when prompt action is usually the best route to 'success!' ...

... and please do ensure when you make the purchase that you have the exact letter spelling as there are no refunds once the transaction is done ... that's the policy of all domain providers ...

... all the best to you for every success -- stay strong! ... :)

Great question and answer to the question. Something I will need to know as well.

Better to do it now because when you start with a new domain it basically starts from 0 on Google.

Trevor there's really no point in waiting. Get everything onto your premium domain ASAP so you dont need to worry about loss of rankings etc.

When you buy your new .com, you can use the move function to transfer everything, even images, from the siterubix to the new .com
When you do this, Google gets advised of the transfer but you may have to reverify ownership in GSC.

I just did this recently, when I bought a new domain name for my rescue dog website. It was a fairly seamless process.

Personally, I would make the change now before writing tons of articles that may need to be reverified in GSC.

Hope this helps you decide.
