Just a quick one to let you know what is happening, a lot of members are unable to access the Wealthy Affiliate platform today, as the main Wealthy Affiliate Wildcard SSL Certificate has Expired.

This is causing an error message to be displayed when accessing the WA Platform, similar to the one below

It looks as if SiteSupport have now issued a Lets Encrypt Standard SSL Certificate for the Members Area, but there are still issues with some of the integration's with 3rd party services.

I am sure SiteSupport will get this resolved ASAP, so please be patient with them.

However, this is not the first SSL Issue, there was a similar issue with the SiteRubix Wildcard SSL Certificate in August, and also issues with our own websites hosted at WA over a period of a few months.

We need to ensure that we always check our SSL Certificates, especially as the internet is pushing for a secure environment, and Google will penliase our websites if they are not secure, as well as blocking access to even view our websites.

Please take a look at this training to protect your own websites moving forward.

How To Check Your SSL Certificate Expiry Date

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend :-)

Yesterday we installed our new SSL certificate to replace the old one. During that time we experienced some downtime while things switched over. We apologize for the inconvenience as WA was down for a period of time.

SSL certificates have expiration dates and eventually need replacing. Our new SSL cert is renewed until October 2022.

Cheers,

Carson

Thank you very much for letting us know, Carson.

We are in good hands until 2022. 🙂

All set with the SSL Cert until 2022 YES!! Lots of exciting things coming your way this month - you'll see what we've been hard at work on in the background :)

Thank you Carson, looking forward to this new UX and the new things coming our way :-) Hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday, mine is about to end in 1 hour over here in the UK ;-)

I can't wait, Carson!
So, VERY excited and looking forward.

'Thank you' seems such an understatement for all the support that you and your team provide for us, every single day - and night.

You have our deepest respect and admiration.

Have a great week.

Thanks for flagging it, Chrystopher!

I hope SiteSupport fixes it. I had an identical issue with another host, and for some time they really struggled with the auto renewals. They managed to find a solution, but I am always a bit nervous that this issue will come back...

You're welcome Nelya, and yes, all resolved now, by the looks of it :-)

Thanks Chrys, i thought there was a virus in my laptop because i had experienced that too last night while I was editing my content which i had posted. Now i know from that it was about certain system of the platform that had been expired. thanks for sharing your knowledge about it.

You're welcome Francisco and no, no virus on your end fortunately :-)

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the heads up, annoyingly I am unable to isolate and click on the padlock, it just auto clicks on my whole website...🙄

I’ve tried it several different ways, in my WP admin area and direct on my own website...I’ve watched the training but still must be doing something wrong👀

You're welcome Cordelia :-) But sorry to hear that, which browser do you use? Chrome, IE, Edge, Safari, etc?

Chrome

Strange, do you see the padlock or does it say Not secure? Could you provide a screenshot?

Hi Chris,
Here are two screen shots one of my actual website and one of my back office admin

You didn't say you were on an iPad ;-)

As far as I am aware, you cannot view website certificates on iPhone/iPad's unless you use a 3rd party inspection App

Ahh now that might explain it....I will go onto my Mac,
How did you know I was on my iPad?

Because Chrome only round and group their tabs on mobile devices, then I looked at the top bar where the battery symbol and WiFi icons are. It's the classic iPad/iPhone layout :-)

My my I learn something new every day communicating with you 😁

You're welcome Cordelia haha :-)
