I schedule a lot of my Posts on my WordPress sites. I have noticed some are not posting as scheduled. I get a "Missed schedule".

Has anyone had this problem, if so how d

Hey Larry,

The plugin I've been using for years now is Scheduled Post Trigger by Moss Web Works and it has never let me down.

Hope you find this helpful.

Thank You, I will check it out

Larry

Hey Larry,

While I don't have a solution to this (yet), I want to let you know that this isn't a WA hosting problem but a WordPress problem as I experienced the same issue on a site that I don't host here.

Thanks Jay, That helps a lot.

Larry

I've had the same issue. I'm not keen on adding more plugins, so I publish mine manually.
I hope you find a solution.

Thanks, kind of feel the same way, trying to not add anymore plugins.

Thanks

Larry

If you created a schedule for a post here and then went to do an edit the schedule gets taken off and you would need to re do the schedule again.

Not doing that.. I am creating the post, publishing it to My WordPress site, and then schedule them from there. Some go through, but some, says "missed schedule."

No probs

I have this issue in the past and Site Support asked me to install a plugin call "Missed Scheduled Posts Publisher by WPBeginner".

However, I noticed that this plugin was last updated three months ago and is so-called not compatible with the current version of WordPress. Maybe you can wait for others to share their experiences. I could use some new insights, too. Or you can raise a ticket with Site Support for advice.

The plugin works sometimes which means I still get a Missed Schedule situation...

So with some luck, maybe I can also learn from here if there is a better solution.

Thanks, I was looking at that plugin too, but noticed it wasn't compatible..

thanks for the reply, good to know I am not the only one. See if anyone has a fix before I contact support. Thanks

Larry

Hi Larry
I use the "Missed Scheduled Posts Publisher by WPBeginner" plugin as has been suggested here by OCH3943, which I found and tried without asking Site Support. It works well for me. It's extremely light weight and doesn't noticeably effect site speed at all. You just implement it as for any plugin, and it automatically sets itself up when you activate it.

The problem with the WordPress Cron System, which runs the schedule, is that it requires someone to visit your site in order to trigger it, and if they're not visiting at the right time, the trigger can get missed. The plugin pings the site every 15 minutes, which then triggers any Cron jobs that should have fired recently but were missed.

Thanks, was looking at it, but it says "not compatible" Have you had any situation where it doesn't work like he said..

Larry

No. Like I said, it works for me. It triggers for the WordPress schedule, and I have emails triggered for subscribers whenever a new post is published.

Just a point... many plugins don't get updated regularly. I don't know where you've seen the words "not compatible.".The info at the plugin says "not tested in the last 3 months." In fact, no update for 3 months means very little unless WordPress happens to have done an update that affects the plugin within those 3 months.

WPBeginner is a reputable plugin builder and maintainer.

I had to go look again, yep it says:
Sorry for using the word not compatible, I just figured that what untested meant.. I might give it a try.

Thanks, Larry

I got this from Google search console, is there an easy fix for this?

Search Console has identified that your site is affected by 1 Breadcrumbs structured data issue(s)

Hey Larry,

Whenever I get a prompt that I do NOT understand, and that needs to be fixed, is do an internet search using only the prompt.

See screen print below...

Note the search phrase used.

Somewhere in the search results you should be able to find something to guide you to be able to fix this issue.

And, as Dale already suggested... you may even find proof that it is something to do with the theme itself.

Personally... when I read your response to Dale's suggestion, this makes me wonder if the conflict is between a plugin and the theme.

Are you using the EXACT same plugins in all 3 sites, where the other 2 sites are NOT throwing this issue?

Hope you find this helpful.

Thanks, yes i also do searches to see if I can fix the problem. I did as dale suggested changed the theme and resubmitted to Google to check for a fix.
Its checking again.

Sounds like a theme issue; which one are you using? I'd recommend contacting their developers.

I have 3 websites using the same theme, The other 2 did not give me this warning, but I will do a test and switch the theme and see if it clears up..Tks for the response..
