Domain name help please for new website, I'm confused
Hi everyone,
I'm about to create another website, but I'm slightly confused about the domain. Please bear with me as I try to explain:
I want to review an up and coming health product that's quite new on the market. My site will be solely based around this company's products only. My plan is to buy and obviously produce a review about all their products. Currently and strangely there's no review site about their products on the internet, so my new site could be very good - a possible gap in the market so to speak.
Just to be clear, though I'll be independent I will be working a long side this company as a direct seller to others locally and on the internet.
My question, is it permissible to use the company's name in my domain or can I refine it by adding another letter on the end?
For example: xxxxxxamazon to xxxxxxamazons
Upon doing some research I've noticed that people use Amazon in their domains. When I've looked at domains from others here at WA, they've also use the name wealthy affiliate or a variant. So, this is the reason for asking because I wasn't sure if it was allowed.
I hope I've made myself clear, if not feel free to ask me questions.
Happy New Year
Sharon :)

As others have said, steer well clear of using that company's name. If you read their smallprint - they may be so new that they haven't yet got around to it - you will probably find that they don't allow their distributors to use their name.
Anyway, I totally agree with Stadnykgeoff and think you are far better off creating a health site and then mentioning their products and how they can help.
I'd be fairly careful altogether. As soon as people know that you are a direct seller for a specific company, they will immediately doubt your impartiality. A young lady here at WA - can't remember her name - tried doing something similar to what you want to do for Herbalife products but didn't succeed.
The main problem, in my experience, is that Direct Selling companies - regardless of how good their products are - have to charge above average prices for their products in order to pay the commissions to the distributors.
Anyway, good luck. Keep bearing your customers in mind and try to solve their problem.
I wouldn't tie your site directly to this product only, or at least I'd leave a back door. I think that starts with your domain name.
What if something goes wrong with the company?
Unless you have some kind of arrangement, your site doesn't belong to them, it belongs to you. Your going to do a lot of hard work on it. I know we have up to 25 sites here, but why limit the potential of even 1?
Your site will gain followers. They might like the product, but they probably will also like you and your style. That has a different value than the company you want to promote.
I think it's a great idea what you want to do, I just think be safe and don't limit your site in the long run by picking such a domain name, even if you find a viable way to do it. I'd customize the name towards the benefits of their products. Or pick a brandable name with a play on healthy. I.e. Healthyrhabits dot com which by the way is available.
Good question and best of wishes.
It has already been said .. you cannot use Amazon. Also unless there is an agreement re the product you are promoting you will not be able you use that name in a domain name other than to the extent to which it is allow by law in a blog review tile.
Cheers, William.
LOL .. yes it is unfortunate .. I have a similar problem with a product .. good luck. Cheers, William.
Those people who have Amazon in their domain names get sued every day. The only person who can answer whether or not this is permissible (depending on your relationship with this company since you say you are a direct seller) is the company itself. Get it in writing because what you're doing is potentially a trademark violation.

All MLM companies have their names copyrighted and have strict rules about not using any form of their name without written approval. Check the rules of the company you will be working with.
Suggest you use Jaaxy to find a keyword phrase related to the benefits of your product. Then work that phrase into URL. Don't forget .blog is now available and you have a good chance of getting what you want with that extension.
Thx for your advice it was helpful :)
