Why should you Create a New WordPress User
Kyle has created training inside WA to show you how to add another user.
This also covers how to change the posts that show Admin as the user to your new user.

What Kyle doesn't really cover well is Why should you do this.
1. Posting with a name other than Admin creates trust with your readers.
When the Admin name shows in your posts people see that you are a newbie. They won't engage as well with you. Trust and Engagement are important to helping your site convert sales.
2. Kyle touches a bit on security in his training. By changing the name of your user, it will be more difficult for hackers to gain access to your site.
Admin is the most used user name. When a hacker doesn't need to find the user name, they only need to crack the password. If you have a user that is not named Admin, they will need to identify the username first then try to determine the password. This makes your site more difficult to hack.
To change your site to a new user
Create a new user, make the new user an Administrator. Follow Kyles training.
*Note: WA will generate a new user in the SiteRubix area of the menu and assign a secure password for you.
Next, log out and log in as the new user. Then go to the Admin User and edit the permission level. Make the Admin user a Subscriber. This will keep hackers from using the Admin user as a way into your website.

The most important aspect of this outside of any hacking, is branding. Say you go to an article online and you are reading it and really enjoy it....and it says written by "admin" at the end. You instantly lose any level of trust.
Worst yet, if you attempt to read an article online and at the top is says Author "admin" chances are you will read it with a different level of trust (very limited) if you read it at all.
Great post Craig.
Thanks Kyle, I don't think people take the security thing seriously enough at times.
Branding is a very important reason to do this as well. I guess I could have said that a bit more clearly.
This one simple change will put off about 80% of hackers as it will be easier for them to find another site where the owner is not security minded!
@MarvH you have to log in as the new username and password before you can make any change to the Admin user. ~Marion
