Rejected by Amazon after 180 days!

Hi Guys

Today I received a rather disappointing email from Amazon andhere is what it said:

As you can imagine by heart sank slightly reading this and Ithought that it was incredible that in 6 months no one clicked my homepageAmazon link and never bought a single item, not even $1.

Considering the amount of traffic (about 5000 visitors permonth) going thorough my website I never predicted this dismal result.

There is a lesson here for everyone because it's not a good ideato apply with Amazon until your website has significant traffic which I thoughtI had but clearly not!

I have seen people here on WA offering to buy through othermembers Amazon link to help each other this way but I was always too late!Someone always beet me to the request! lol :p

Lesson learned and I'm not quite sure when to apply again, whenI reach 10 000 visitors or 100 000? Not sure but I hope this article helpsothers not to rush with their Amazon Associates profiles.

Back to the drawing board for me again! :p

Kind regards,

Kamil

Sorry to hear your having problems with Amazon shutting down your account for not getting any sales,I did not realize they did that. I am surprised you did not get any sales with 5000 visitors a month to your site.
I have had no problems with Amazon,I have built a few sites some have had sales and some not.I would say Amazon and physical products instead of digital especially for the make money online niche are the products where I have had sales.

Thanks for this info Peter.

I just had a general Amazon banner for ANY product that would sell, I would receive a commission so I was also surprised with the statistics knowing about this ahead of time and planning accordingly.

We learn as we go :)

Kamil, your post is timely because I will be in the same situation.
Thanks
Dave Sarver

Hopefully you can save it! Please contact Sue here on WA (link below) and try help each other, you buy from her and she can buy from you :)
and hopefully this extends your associates account for another 6 months...

Even if it's something small like a gift for a family member or friend at work or something you really need.

Hope this helps to save both your accounts ;)

Thank you for doing that, Kamil. I have just started rebuilding my website from the ground up using Divi (thanks @Compso199 for the video) and Elementor, so not sure of the status of my links. I am very happy to reciprocate with any one wants to exchange links.

Glad something productive came out of this post Sue :)

WOWZA!! Nice job Sue!! You're really getting noticed!! :)

Sue following up on Kambas' note. Appreciate your help/input; tell me what you are thinking so we can get rolling.
Respectfully,
Dave

There are other programs out there don't worry. If you have 5000 visitors and no conversion, you might have a close look on your Blog or site why. Even if you get 10.000 visitors if you do not figure out what is not appealing to the customer to make a conversion. Investigate your visitors what and how long where and when they click and leave your pages.

It happened to me as well and even after I had a sale within the first month and then nothing for the next 6 months. They cancelled my account right before Christmas 2016, so I had to re-apply and change all the links on my site (approx. 160) to refer to the new affiliate id. It was a real pain, especially having to do all this extra work over the Christmas holidays. I've had a few more sales so hopefully I won't have the same issue again.

I would be happy to buy a product from someone's site as long as they were willing to reciprocate. That way, we're helping each other.

Good luck!

Shawn

Shawn that is a excellent idea!

If maybe we could have a section here on WA to do this.
Where members can apply perhaps or just ask on a post for a Amazon sale from people who are already planning to purchase from Amazon.

We could all help one another like you say... sad nothing like this has been put in place yet after 12 years, unless I missed it?

Regards,
Kamil

Thanks Kamil! I'm not sure if it is frowned upon to do that, but I have seen it mentioned by a couple of other WA members in the past. I guess it depends on members' niches. For example, I have a sports apparel website and maybe not everyone is into sports apparel. I guess it just depends on what items other members would be looking for.

Regards,
Shawn

Hi Shawn!

Isn't it true that if you're buying through say, Amazon, since they have a vast array of products, you could buy what you need and not worry about the item?

I realize you couldn't buy from a camping outfitter if you were looking for, let's say, ladies high heeled shoes, but I think you get my jist. ;)

Blessings,

~Evon :)

In this case it would not matter on the niche because I had a overall Amazon banner on my homepage for 6 months. One could literally buy anything through this main Amazon link, I hope this makes sense.
Instead of having specific item links I created a general Amazon link to their homepage.

Yes, that makes sense, thanks Kamil! I have specific items on my site but I guess anything that is purchased, I would get credit for.

You are correct Evon! I was thinking that on my site all my links are for specific products. However, if someone was to click on something else, I think I still get credit for it.

Regards,
Shawn

Yes!! It's true Shawn!! As long as they go through your link, whatever they decide to buy you would make a commission on!

That's what's soo great!! Many of them have multiple products available. So when someone decides to really go shopping...you get the commission!! YAYYY!!

~Evon :)

So true Evon! Now if I could only get people to click on my links to start with, lol!

Gotta build that trust Shawn and become the authority in your niche.

I've been building my FB group page for 2 years before coming to Wealthy Affiliate and now ppl are always asking for my advice. This helped me to start getting referrals and now I have 3 premium ones! NICE!!

People buy from someone they trust, so keep adding that GREAT content, delight your audience with your posts, and you can't go wrong. At least that's what I keep telling myself. Ha ha!

Onward and UPward!!

Thanks for the great advice Evon!

My pleasure Shawn!! And may the stats be with you! :D

How long did you have to wait before reapplying?
Thanks!

Sorry Kamil, just reapply and I will share your post on my social media if you want to

That's so nice of you to do for him! :) That's what I like about you, as you are extremely helpful and sincerely care about helping out others! :)

Thank you, I have shared multiple websites for this matter

Wow Loes, you are too kind! :)

I will PM you as soon as I can sort it out and redo all the links.
Might be a few days because I have ample work but will get to it asap and be in touch!

Thank you Loes, you always looking out for me and it means A LOT!

Best regards,
Kamil

Loes is actually an Angel in disguise but don't tell anyone! Shhhh :D

You may PM me your link when you are ready:)

I kinda figured that one out! :) lol Secret is safe with me...as everyone seen the comments already about the angel on board...lol

I know what you mean.

Soldier on!

Always FORWARD! ^^,

Kamil - Sorry to hear about that. You will never know the number, so just reapply when you double your traffic and see how it go's.

In the meantime on to other affiliate programs. You may find that you do better in the long run. Best of luck.

Patrick

Thanks Patrick!

Definitely not a train smash :)
A good lesson learned and I have shared this so other folks don't stumble with this hopefully.

I did not have any luck with Amazon associates. I had one sale through my banner link near the time my 6 months was up. I've had nothing since, so I removed the Amazon banner and added other affiliate links.

Yes, using Amazon on fresh or low traffic sites is not advised.

Not sure why it's taught so early in the lessons then when we set it up we get rejected down the line.

On a good note, you can reapply again. Once you do, maybe some testing of different ads and ad styles will help. As for myself, I'll be getting that email from Amazon soon too. I know I'm getting close to the expiration time.

This can all be avoided if you are able to find someone who already wants to buy something from Amazon and they just use your link to do it, the trick is to find that person.

Why not write a post and say you would appreciate some help in this regard? You can ask people to go to your website, click the amazon link and purchase whatever they already planning to buy.

I should have done this but I was to hesitant to ask or felt it would be inappropriate but now I lost my privileges to earn Amazon commissions.

An excellent suggestion, Kamil!

Hey Kamil,

Do you have a social media group where you've begun to build a following? I've done this and I've got 1.160 ppl following me for 2 + years. Not got any links up yet, but hoping this turns the tables for me. Thank you for your lessons learned Kamil...

Blessings on your forward progress in this regard!

Peace and many monetary pluses ahead Buddy!

~Evon :)

Thank you kindly Evon ;)

I have about 1800 followers on LinkedIn, about 280 on Google Plus and 30 on Pinterest.
I share my website link and posts quite regularly as suggested in the training.

Nice!!

Many blessings on your work here, Kamil!

~Evon :)
