I have the same thing. Google Search Console says that certain URL's of my articles have been indexed but I don't have the Colored G and on other ones I do. I'm not sure why.
Hi Johnny, I have a couple of posts that have been indexed and ranked but I did not get the colored G. Have you entered the URL in the Google inspection area, done a live test and asked for it to be re-indexed.
Best wishes,
Michael
Hey Johnny,
Perhaps the following Google Search Console Help post will help you solve this issue: https://support.google.com/webmasters/thread/6353519?hl=en
Hope you find this helpful.
Just check Looney Tunes is not a copyright to Disney Productions cartoons who have the same name too.
Have you setup your sitemap via the training guide here at WA?
You can find it here: Setting Up & Submitting a Sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools
yes, and it says it was successful. I put in one for the looney tunes, I probably shouldn't have done that correct? Thanks for your help
Hi, your sitemap should not be HTML. Refer to Triblu comment to fix your sitemap or ask site support to create a new sitemap for you.
The sitemap URL should read as : sitemap_index.xml
Hope it helps.
Chris.

Hi everyone,
I am doing a post where I have a list of movies. I am planning on highlight each movie and have them with an external link to IMDb.com so people can watch a sh
I would suggest that yo absolutely make sure that those clips open in a new window so that your site remains open on their browser. That way you have a much better chance to continue the conversation after they've watched the clip.
Good morning. You can link anything you like as long as the clips are cc. Creative Commons is free to use. A video will have the cc in the lower right corner. If it does not I would get permission from the creator to link it.
IMDc states it is free to use and link to your post. So yes I believe you can do this.
Laura
If the movies are related to your website and it is a valid use of an external website link, then yes, absolutely :-)

How do I use Google search console to get a post indexed? I wrote a post about 5 months ago and it is still not indexed. I would appreciate any tips on how to get this one post
Hi Johnny, seems like Gordon-D has given you the answer I would have. Once you go through this process, if everything is OK with your URL after the live test it will say site can be indexed click on index it could take up to a minute and it will take up to a minute and it comes up got it. You should also do this for the bing search engines. Bit of a different process, same idea.
Best wishes,
Michael
Michael, you can see the issue about the gray G changing to colored G from replies with Gordon, you do have any thoughts on this?
Hi Johnny, I too get the grey G and I do not think it has any relevance. Just another one of Google's attempts to mess around. What is great to see is the nice colors around the first big G.
Best wishes,
Michael
Hey Johnny,
Don't forget that you can check for training and blogged tips here at WA. See screen print below...
Is your sitemap working okay? If so, simply resubmitting that should resolve this issue.
Hope you find this helpful.
I went and try the the suggestions, but I got this message, any advice on how to correct the error, thanks everyone for your help. johnny
Log into your Google Search Console and on the top bar you will see inspect any URL, add the url of the post in question and press enter, google will tell you if it is indexed, after that click on test live URL wait a minute or two and you will get a breakdown of the post, then click request indexing.
As Catherine says it can take some time for Google to index.
Hope this helps
Hi Gordon, thanks for you help. I did what you suggested and I think it worked. In the report under Coverage, it is checked and it says submitted and indexed. I have provided a screen shot. Part of it says indexing, does this mean it is still being worked on to be indexed. I know it can take time. Just wondering will it eventually change the "gray G" to colored once it is finished indexing to a "colored G" when I look at the post withinWA? I apreciate you and everybody's help with this. johnny
Hi johnny, yes the post has been indexed, as far as the grey "G" is concerned, not really sure where you are looking, but if it is in page speed, then not sure they turn green, I just checked mine and they are all grey, so can't help you there
Hi Gordon, thanks for your reply. I have an image here showing what I mean, the G on one is colored but the other G is gray. I looking under view all my content link when I go to my website link. Is this something to be concerned about as long as Google is showing the post indexed?
I was wondering because I usually get an email from WA saying that one of my posts has been indexed.
Ok, I don't use site content at all so I wouldn't know whan and if the "G" changes to green, maybe someone else will be able to tell you. There is another way of checking if any of your posts are indexed by typing in the search engine search bar,
site:yoururl, this will bring up everything that Google has indexed from your website
Sometimes it can take a long time. Have you checked your keyword research, can you add any latent semantic keywords is your keyword density sufficient.
