Though I never got my dedication badge this time around, I joined this wonderful platform on November 17, 2017!
I goofed off for the first 1.5 years before starting to blog consistently. I started several websites, but though they still exist, they are dormant. Hey, what can I say? I am very SLOW! (But, many of us are--and that's OKAY! It is a work-at-your-own-pace platform)
I originally came here for the Excellent hosting and Site Support after a very sour year with SquareSpace.
Now that I have gotten back on track in the last year by starting my book promotion site, I am happier now!
This platform has everything in it that you need to succeed in any internet business that you want to succeed in!

I relate a lot to your post and I have been on the site for just over a year, started a couple of websites, earned some small commissions, but my dedication has been on and off so far.

Time goes quickly, Jeff, it actually seems like you have been here more than five years! Probably because you are highly active on the platform. It fascinates me the reasons that people join Wealthy Affiliate, I remember you saying before that you came here for the hosting. However, I understand if you were having trouble with your previous supplier.
There are many good reasons for joining the platform, like excellent training, being able to answer and ask a question, community and like-minded people, inspiration etc.! The list goes on!

That's good, I'm glad that your weekend went well, it goes so quickly.
Sunday was quiet, my wife was out, I really didn't do anything on the web as such. Sometimes and especially on a Sunday, I like to just keep things different. It was a really grey day here, yesterday, it felt like it didn't get light, I guess it's that time of year! I did look at a bit of training and managed to do quite a bit of reading on Kindle.

I do agree with you, time flies by so fast!
It was one of those cold days where I stayed indoors, apart from walking the dog up the lane a couple of times! I have to say, I do love the fields in winter, there is something so wonderful and peaceful about it. However, yesterday was particularly cold and when you work outside in the week, you don't want to suffer too much at the weekend!

That's good, Jeff, I am glad your day is going well so far. One good thing about the winter is that I get home early! At the moment, it almost seems like is getting dark after lunch, especially if it's a dull day. I packed up at around 4 PM today, and I was working locally, so I was home in good time, which is nice!

Working outside, I actually prefer January and February, even though they are colder months than November! I love watching things come to life, bulbs coming through, buds filling up on trees and shrubs etc.! It brings a lot of hope and the feeling that spring isn't too far away!

Apparently, the snow is supposed to go before Christmas, unfortunately! I have a feeling that we may have a cold January, I have been wrong before, though!
Yesterday, when I went to work, and it was early, the temperature was -9° C (15.8). The site manager where I was working said that it was -11° C (12.2) first thing in the morning. That's cold for this part of the UK!
Allegedly, a chill factor of -10° C today, very pleasant indeed! Maybe Bill Gates and Klaas Swaab would like to join me to talk about global warming!

I'm glad the test went well. You can experiment as time goes on. I believe the camera has a microphone attached to it; however, I have not used it. Maybe I need to test it out, I generally use a headset for a crisper and clearer sound.
I have thought about investing in a Rode microphone, but I need to do some research first.

That's good, Jeff; maybe I need to try the microphone out on the camera for myself. I don't think I have ever tried it, I kind of forget it's there! I believe a lot depends on your room and what's in the room etc. In other words, an empty room can be echoey and so forth. At least you can experiment and see what works best.
A few years ago, I went to purchase a decent microphone, however, the microphone I wanted was out of stock. I made the mistake of purchasing a different microphone! It's okay, but in my humble opinion, for a few pounds or dollars more, it's definitely worth doing some homework and finding the right tool for the job!
I have heard that Rode microphones are good, I expect there are many others too!

That was nice of her; she is a very nice Christian lady who is trying to create an online business.
I'm sorry to hear about Mel's writing ban, I must admit I wasn't aware of it! My guess is that a writing ban is a technical issue rather than a Mel issue! I have been write banned twice, they literally came a few days apart, which makes me think it's a technical issue.
Mel definitely needs to rise above it and persevere, I appreciate that it's not good when it happens. However, we have to remember that there are a terrific amount of people on the Wealthy Affiliate platform. It's probably difficult to keep track of everything that's going on.
It seems like they need some software that warns the team if they are regular writers like Mel is! I do hope his ban gets lifted quickly. I will send Mel a Skype message to try and encourage him. I think he has just signed up for another year, so I'm sure he will be staying!

I don't always have a chance to look at the new blog posts etc. However, it looks like there are quite a few about writing bans etc., let's hope this issue can be sorted out. We have to remember that Wealthy Affiliate has a terrific amount of members, it's probably difficult to keep everything running smoothly.
I write on a number of forums and visit various websites like most of us do. I have to say that the Wealthy Affiliate platform is the friendliest forum that I know of and is also a great place to kind of hang out. So although one or two problems might arise, we need to look at the good things.
I did send Mel a Skype message which he replied to.

I believe so, Jeff! We have to be careful in these situations, as I see a few remarks that are not too clever. We have to be grateful for all the good things at Wealthy Affiliate. Any business can get hiccups from time to time we have to respect that.

Yesterday, I was working in a garden with a friend of mine who helps me sometimes. One of the things I like about the New Year is the fact that things are likely coming to life in the countryside. It gives me a lot of hope for better weather and I also see creation!
Last week, I took the attached picture of a willow tree; you can literally see the leaves coming out of the buds. Each week I will watch the buds coming out a bit more until they come out into full leaf! Amazing! Creation is a wonderful thing!

It's kind of gone quickly, Jeff! I think getting married later in life is harder as we were both single for many years and had never been married before, which has to be good!
As for the wedding, it was a lovely occasion. My friend's daughter is only 21, she is a fantastic solid Christian lady, she sees through all the nonsense that we see! It was quite something seeing my best friend take his young daughter up the aisle!
He and his wife have brought their three children up in a true Christian way and live by it! Hence why I have three fantastic children or teenagers and one 21 year old! (Three children in total) It's a pleasure to go to their home, which is so peaceful! This is how life should be!

In some ways I think it's better to marry early if you have found the right person, however, that is often easier said than done! When my sister got married in 72, she was 22, and so was her husband; that was probably quite normal then! Nearly fifty-one years later, they are still very very happily married! I really hope your present marriage works out, Jeff! I told my sister one day, marriage can be difficult, she had absolutely no idea what I was talking about!!!👍👍
Although the couple are quite young, they are both very strong Christians. My good friend and myself had some good chats beforehand with the groom; he seems like a good lad who genuinely loves his wife! He also has a good sense of humour when I talk a load of nonsense with him! His family are originally from the Congo. He knows that things like BLM etc. belong in the pit of hell!

Yes, I understand exactly where you are coming from, I think many people would love to be able to say the same! When I said to my sister that marriages can be difficult, there was almost a stunned silence on the other end of the phone, as she had never genuinely encountered such a thing! Which is actually really fantastic!
I must admit it is very refreshing to hear! I have to say that my sister's husband has been an excellent man, as in looking after my sister, bringing up the children and a brilliant grandfather! It's refreshing! He is one of five children; four of them are married, and the other one is single and has never been married. All their marriages are first time around marriages; one is over 50 years, and the others are getting near that 50-year period! Fantastic!

That would be good, Jeff, I will speak to the lady who runs the Bible studies, I'm sure that it would be okay. There are four studies a week, which are just one hour long each, although there can be chitchat before and after. You are free to come and go as and when.
The only problem you might have is for the morning studies, which are at 10 AM on a Thursday and Saturday, UK time. And 7:30 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The lady who runs the studies used to work for Andrew Wommack Ministries (her husband still does), which is based in the US. Andrew Wommack was posted to Vietnam; he almost spent his whole time studying the Bible rather than getting up to things that he shouldn't be doing! The great thing is that I don't know any man who has greater revelations than Andrew does on what the word says.
There is no fluff with this man, just one hundred percent biblical teaching; to my mind, it's made very simple!
You will find lots of things online from Andrew Wommack. I listen to quite a few Bible teachers online, but it's always refreshing to come back and hear Andrews's very balanced messages. He now has a worldwide ministry, he is a very humble man indeed! His late mother said to him, God has to be in your ministry as you are not clever enough to do what you have achieved!!🤣🤣

It was a nice day out, Jeff, if I had the time, I would go back again today! It's wonderful to see our heritage for real and how farming has changed over the years. It's amazing how dedicated people are when it comes to looking after livestock and keeping old breeds alive, like heavy horses etc.

I'm very sorry to hear that, Jeff, that's not an easy thing to do at all. Did he have somewhere to go? I hope you're okay, Jeff, I think I would feel the same as you, however, it was not your decision to remove this man.
I was listening to a preacher that I listen to quite a bit the other day. And he was saying how a Dr called him as the hospital would not let him give a patient the right medication for Covid. He actually had the medication but was not allowed to give it. The reason; they wanted to make money by giving the patient the wrong drug! The result; the man died!
The doctor wanted to know if the preacher had a good lawyer to whom he could speak to, however, it was too late and the patient died!
I just find this type of thing totally evil and wrong, it goes against humanity!

I must say that I have no idea--it was essentialy an illegal commune house and everyone else had flown the coop leaving him there. I can only hope his neighbor helped him because I had other time sensitive things today on that day--it was a very full day.
I prayed fervently for him, so I hope that God looked out for him. I could not stay there because if the cops came they would see that my DL was suspended, and I needed to get back to another job.

Over the last few weeks, I have noticed lots of videos on Twitter regarding drug areas in the US. They look absolutely awful, Jeff! I must admit I'm fairly protected living here in the countryside, I know there are some bad places in the UK! I think one of the signs said that all drugs were legal or something like that, it looked like it, by the results! Very sad indeed.
It's amazing what the world's favourite President can do in such a short time!!

Those are all liberal run cities, Roy. It is very bad and totally unnecessary, but they are allowing illegal immigrants to inundate the country! It is a travesty. Very sad, indeed.
That's tongue in cheek, he is, by far, NOT the best President, in fact, Jimmy Carter--a good man, in my opinion, can rest easy in hospice care recgnizing that he will not die as the worst President ever.

I think we probably have a similar routine regarding Wealthy Affiliate, Jeff!
I don't think I could ever work for a government organisation, it would just be far too frustrating. I also think many of the employees end up with a kind of lazy mindset, which is not good. Maybe that's not deliberate, but it just seems to go that way.
When we write on the Wealthy Affiliate platform, it's motivating as we are mixing with motivated people! Government organisations are the opposite!

That's good, Jeff, I'm glad the day finished well.
When I go away to Greece, it's nice to feel the warmth of the heat as I'm not normally working! However, I think I'm finding it harder now when we have hot weather in the UK. Grinding out tree stumps in dry dusty weather also makes me change colour as all the dust and dirt sticks in the hot weather!
There are also different types of heat, in Greece we have the sea air and the mountain air, which I believe makes a big difference. Maybe it's old age creeping in!

Jeff, that's a brilliant way to look at things, taking one day at a time! We were listening to a message last night from a speaker who talks about end times. We haven't seen the second part yet, as he starts the service on YouTube and then broadcasts on his own platform.
The reason he has to do this is YouTube does not like him preaching the truth and it doesn't suit the narrative! Normally, we can go onto his website and see the rest of the service, but it didn't appear to be uploaded last night. Hopefully, we will see it tonight!
The point is he is talking about prophetic stuff that lines up with end-time prophecy! Jesus could come any time!

I believe on paper, Jeff, the EU was potentially good! I remember when I was a boy, my parents didn't vote, as my father thought it was a good idea and my mother had her doubts!
Potentially, when countries join together, they could become a large marketing cooperative! But as always and especially in the EU, it was always going to be corrupt! Sadly, Jeff, that is so true! The madness that we hear on a daily basis is just astounding! I heard a couple of years ago that if you create a new Facebook account, there are about 87 genders to choose from or something like that many genders! Just a few short years ago, if someone said that, they would be rounded up by the men in white coats and put in a loony bin! But now people believe it. I go by what the Bible says, not what man says!

I have been doing a certification course with Camtasia. Camtasia is the software that I use to create videos. I'm trying to enhance my videos a bit more with a few extras. The only problem with this is that it takes longer to get to the finished product. Previously, I was just making my videos raw and just editing the minimal, which does have its advantages!

Apparently it was about five and a half years old and the original battery on the car. I think with these stop/start systems on cars take a lot out of a battery.

Now that's extremely cold, Jeff! That's a good time to invite uncle Bill Gates to prove to him that global warming is absolute nonsense! I left school in 1981 and every year we have, the coldest, the hottest, most windy etc, every year is different! I just see it as British weather rather than global nonsense, I mean global warming!!
It's interesting how they had to change it to climate change, Jeff. I remember a few years ago they had their global nonsense conference and they had to close it, due to there being so much snow! Fantastic!

It's very sad when countries like the US and the UK go down the pan! I was listening to a preacher from the US the other day, and he was saying that when the UK had strong Christian values, it really prospered, massive time! I believe it was the same with the US or very similar.
