What is the main difference between Block Editor and Classic Editor?

Block editor is much easier to create the look and feel that someone wants without having to use code.

Rich,

Thanks for helping me out.
Technology is not my strong suit.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Hi Rachele

If you don’t want to write and publish from Site Content I recommend using the Block Editor directly.

As others have mentioned, the Classic Editor is being sunset and it has very limited formatting options.

It makes a lot more sense to create and edit content in blocks. 😎

Thanks, Rachele!

When I first started at WA I was really surprised at how primitive the Classic Editor was.

I changed to the Block Editor as soon as it became fully functional.

I’m not even sure if the Classic Editor plugin is still fully compatible with the latest version of WordPress.

Have a great weekend! 😎

I use Elementor instead of typing content directly to the new page. I began to use Elementor when the Classic Editor was still in use.

I found it much easier to acclimate to the block system of Elementor because all of the blocks are visible i the left hand column , when on the WP admin dashboard. Whereas, on Gutenberg and now the WP block editor, you don't have full access without clicking the drop down to see more.

I write my content on MWord, and paste the content into Elementor, thereby bypassing the actual page itself, save the title, and meta additions. Then edit with Elementor and publish.

Classic Editor was the choose years ago block editor is the newer version that gives so much more choices in its use.

Block is the way fo go forward.

Classic support will stop at some point in the future.

Different types of editors from WordPress. The block editor in WordPress is a modern visual editor that allows users to create content using blocks. In contrast, the classic editor is a simpler, more traditional text editor with fewer formatting options.

Great information, young lady.
Much appreciated.

Rachele

You're welcome, Rachele :)
