Hello All, I am still learning and in the early stages but was hoping to see a bit more traffic to my Google Indexed pages. I felt accomplished when I was indexed by Google bu

Yeah, your site is pretty young. I agree with the others.

Your enthusiasm will get you very far if you narrow down your niche and follow through with the training steps to improve your content and site structure.

As you watch more training videos from Kyle, attend live seminars by Jay weekly, and watch his older posts then implement all the strategies they suggest, you will grow. So keep at it.

Wishing you much success,
Crystal

It mainly comes down to the niche, the keywords chosen, your content and the on-page SEO.

How many articles do you have so far? How old is your website? What is your average article length?

Hello Christopher, I currently have 4 articles with an average length of 1100 words. The website is 5 months old. If you are curious the address is tryitman.com. Thanks for your help.

Derek, Thanks for the input. I guess I was hoping for too much too fast. I will get to work on the articles. Thank you!

A few issues I can see straight away

1 - Your Homepage is not secure, I haven't checked, but more than likely images not using HTTPS

2 - Your Blog Roll is displaying the entire contents of your Posts, meaning the post it self will be classed as Duplicate Content

3 - Frequency of content is not there, so Google will not see it as Fresh Content or as an Active Site

4 - Related to 3, but only a handful of content, you need to try and get more content if you can.

That should be ok to get you going, I haven't checked the actual articles content or keywords at this stage

Hope that helps,
Chrystopher

Also, what is your Niche?

I see articles about Daddy, Child, Backpack, Headphones, Cable TV and Cell Phones for Seniors

What are the relationships between these?

Thank you Chrystopher! Clearly I have a lot to learn. Thanks for your help!

How do I secure my homepage?

Just looked at one in particular and the image below needs changing from http to https

Hi - you cannot expect to see any traffic with only 4 articles in the space of 5 months, with a gap of up to three months between them. Google will think your site has been abandoned.
You need to add 2 or 3 articles every week and build up trust and authority with Google.

As an aside, you don't have an Affiliate Disclosure, which is a legal requirement. Check out this training.

These are all reviews of products and services that I use, which have improved my life. I am trying to offer alternative ways of doing many of the things folks are already doing but trying to make it more economical and enriching. Perhaps my niche is not specific enough.

I can see where you're coming from, but that is not a Niche. Who is your target audience? You need to aim your content to them, so that Google sees you as an authority within that area. Maybe choose Children, Parents or Seniors, but I wouldn't choose all three.

Thank you Diane for the input. I am still finding my way through all of this. I've struggled writing the articles currently on my site, because I want to produce good content. Additionally I am finding it difficult to find the time to do so.

I will continue to write more and appreciate your insight.

Thank you,
Glenn

I can see your point. I kind of all over the place. It sounds like I need to rethink this and start over.

I also can't find a Sitemap, so I'm guessing you don't have Google Search Console configured?

And I can't find your Google Analytics code either, so how do you know you're not getting any traffic? :-)

You also shouldn't be adding all of your posts to your main menu

I am new to leaving site comments but am not sure who can see my comments, and am unclear of the objective. Should I be leaving comments of my opinion of the site, or is it a

Hey Glenn, hope all is well. You have some great answers here, the only thing I'll add from the perspective of receiving comments (on your site) is that it's nice when people share their personal stories related to the topic along with additional insights. Comments like those also add to the overall content of the article and create a richer experience for future readers, inspiring them to share their stories as well.

Just something to consider when you're leaving comments for others.

Check this out, Glenn!

Jeffrey, Thanks for the info. This is a great help.

You're very welcome, Glenn!👍

Site feedback is for the technical comments, grammar, etc. and I don't believe it is seen. Sire comments are about the subject matter and I believe that those ARE seen by all!

Jeff

Technical suggestions such as spelling, grammar, layout etc. are "feedback". A "comment" should only be about the topic of the post itself. For example, if the post is about a nutritional supplement, your comment should be about the supplement. It could include questions about the supplement, what the supplement is good for, potential side effects, price, directions for use etc. You can include whatever you want but it should be related to the product reviewed or topic of the post.

If the post is about a baby backpack then your comment should be about baby backpacks as if you were an interested potential customer. You could ask questions about it, offer your experience with brands of baby backpacks and discuss the brand reviewed.

There are separate platforms here at WA for comments and feedback.

Feedback is not published on your website. It is for your use only.

Comments are published on your website so you and any other visitor to your site can see them. Comments are public in that regard which is why a comment should not contain feedback.

Comments are VERY valuable. Comments show the search engines (like Google and Bing) that our post is interesting and attracting visitors. If someone leaves a comment they are spending more time on our site which is also a good thing. Comments show interaction. All of this is rewarded by the search engines and increases our post ranking in the search results. Some good comments can raise the ranking of your post overnight. I have seen this happen many times.

Jessica

I love baby backpacks. My son is almost too heavy to fit in ours and almost too heavy for me to carry. We had some great times in with that backpack. Thanks for your help.

Site comments are opinions and responses to the article or post that you're looking at, while you can leave feedback in the feedback section.
Feedback doesn't get posted to the site, it is for the user to see and utilize to better their site.
Comments (after moderation by the site owner) will appear on the page for everyone to see.
