:(. Can a site recover from an influx of fake traffic/bad bots? I made the horrible fiverr-rookie mistake of purchasing traffic from fiverr and I think I'm going to cry ...lol.

So about this, Hope you are able to correct.

Never had this experience and great question. I guess just move on without these bots into the future. Good to know time heals.

Thank you guys :)

Your site will be fine, so don't worry and just keep moving forward!

Hi guys.

I am looking for some critical feeback for my website. I am not sure what I am doing wrong... I am just wondering what an outsider's view of my site is. I feel

I also suggest using the Site Feedback feature. And post here that you are using that when/if you do. Two suggestions:

1-Siloing your content could help with SEO, the links on your homepage need to be your main niche keywords, not 'Recent posts' or 'How To'. Best info I've found on siloing is here, search 'silo' on bruceclay.com. A great example of siloing the content, a bit like a library system, at adventureinyou.com (no affiliation).

2- Give away PDF versions of your main articles/guides, like this one https://aagingsolutions.org/how-to-get-younger-looking-skin/ and use that to start building an email list. Skin care is great niche and you will then have interested people to send content and special offers to. In fact, that guide could be a free guide you offer with an optin form on the top of your home page, with your pict! To make a conversion on your home page front and top. Check thrivethemes.com/creating-downloadable-pdfs for a lot more info. "Ultimate Guides" that you update regularly get lots of hits too!

Thank you very much

The other comments are correct, you really should click on Websites to the left and go to Site Feedback to get feedback.
Having said that, here is what I see:

The site is simple and to the point.

Your Recent Posts tab at the top is empty.

You should move your About Sonia page to the top of your main page so people can see who you are without having to scroll to the bottom of the page.

Your recent post list in your sidebar is too long. Limit it to maybe 10 and do the same for recent comments.

If you do the above, the ads at the bottom of your page will become visible without your users having to scroll down forever to see them.

You could use more relevant images in most of your posts, and some videos would be awesome.

Your site loads quickly and your links seem to work so that is good.

You should create a Logo for your site for your main page everyone sees. Try joining Canva for free and you can create your own.

That should help you.

Thank you!

Hi Sonia, there is some great advice here. You will need to head over to get some feedback and be a little more specific about what is worrying you about your website.

Lily 😊🎵

Why do you think you are doing something wrong?
Also, there is a specific thread where you can ask for feedback (https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/getting-started/please-give-me-feedback-on-my-website) or you can use the feedback tool through the left menu to get all the feedback you want

Is it okay to go back and change the title of a post?

I keep reading different opinions on the matter; even though I am doing the research for my keyword through Jaaxy, I

There is no hard and fast rule for this. You can change your article title and leave the permalink alone if the keywords there have good results. This world best if your new title still incorporates your original keyword.

For example if you originally used the keyword How to write engaging articles, you can change this to How to write engaging articles and make money. This latter may not do as well in the Jaaxy analysis but it has the original keyword in the phrase which does.

If you change the title completely, then it makes sense to change the permalink and request indexing again as others have recommended.

All the best to you.

Edwin

yes you can, you don't have any damage but how aussiemuso say you will edit and the permalink of title you have in post you want to change you can see it below the title

Yes you can. Make sure you edit the permalink under your new title in Wordpress as this is what Google reads.
I did this early on and then asked for reindexing and it didn't take too long.

Hi.
How do you ask for re-index Lily?

Maggie, you can copy the permalink for the particular post or page and paste in in your Google Console under 'URL Inspection'. If the page is new or GSC doesn't recognise it for whatever reason, it will ask if you want to reindex.

Alternatively if you have made a lot of changes to your site, your can submit a updated sitemap. Go to Sitemap in the GSC menu and type in 'sitemap.xml' in the space indicated (it's after your domain name). GSC will then indicated success or not - you will probably have to wait a few days, maybe a week for Google to complete the recrawl of your site.

Fluffy duck gave a terrific answer. Very comprehensive.

Let me know if you are still stuck with this Maggie.

Warm regards
Lily 😊🎶

Thank you Lily

I think you can
TIM

Short answer, Yes. You can amend your post titles and content to include better keywords, update time-sensitive information, etc.

Is it important to have a homepage, or is it optional.? How do I go about creating one in wordpress?

Yes. Cheers!

Good comments
TIM

The homepage is important, to my mind, because it can convey to the reader a good sense of what your website is about. It also makes it a lot easier for the reader to navigate your website. Think of it like a table of content for a book. A reader looking at a table of contents gets both the flavor of the book and the quickest and most specific way to navigate it. So, yes, it's worth the effort to make a good homepage. lAnum 1 makes a good suggestion as to how get started.

Thabo

This is a personal preference and depends on your niche.

If you want or need people coming to your website to always see the same page first and then go into your posts or do you want your last post to appear first when they arrive?
