Black Friday 2017 - Be prepared
Black Friday this year falls on 24th November - yes, it's only a month away!!!
Last year it was my first Black Friday here at WA. And of course I realised far too late that there was so much material made available to us WAers to promote on our websites. I say ' too late' as I reduced myself to the very last minute to post desperately reviews and posts to meet the deadline - with the result that I found the whole thing stressful and the result was a shoddy one, to say the least.
This year, I want to prepare in good time for the big event, in the hope that my posts and review will receive a better welcome. But how to do that?
Put your content together now
WordPress has this amazing facility where you can schedule in advance when you want your content published.
So, if you already know what you intend to promote over the Black Friday weekend, or in the very few days ahead of it - such as for instance the regular WA deal - you can start writing your content now, save the post as draft and schedule your publishing for a later date.
Many affiliate programs will launch their Black Friday promotions in the next few days - normally they start advertising their deals from the beginning of November, so watch their space.
Become a yearly Premium member
We must remember that Black Friday promotions are open to us members too. The one thing that I managed to do right last year was to go yearly on Black Friday 2016. I do not want to miss the opportunity to renew my membership this year at, once again, the discounted fee of $299.
If you are toying with the idea of going yearly, Black Friday is the right time. Start putting your pennies away now, because you can save a whopping $60!!!
If you in fact work towards putting away the full yearly fee of $359, you can then use the £60 savings towards buying presents for the kids.
It sounds to me that, provided you start working towards it in advance, Black Friday is going to be a winner all around. Same here. The one right thing I did was go for the annual membership. Otherwise, I can see now that I missed real good opportunities. If at all possible I want to avoid the same mistake twice over!
This is just awesome Giulia! Being up here in Canada we don't really get into Black Friday that much although the past 3 years I have seen a few retailers try to capitalize on it like Walmart and Best Buy. That's a good heads up though. I am already on such a tight budget but I got a month to see what I can do. Thanks for the great reminder! All the best!
