Hi, I have tried to replace my profile pic and it loads to 100% and just freezes there without actually loading the pic to WA, any assistance would be appreciated.

Can y

Try to clear your browser cache or restart your computer and try again. I am afraid the reason it's frozen, it might be overload. Upload the picture first before change the profile pic.

Hope that works.

:)
Joe

no luck unfortunately

Tested and worked just fine. Try again later. Not sure if it's the internet connection or the machine problem.

Why would i be getting a "connection not private" warning on some of my sites hosted here and not others? Brand new site too first time trying to log in through WA dashboard

The same thing happened to me on 3 of my sites, Nate. I contacted SiteSupport and they fixed the issue in a matter of minutes!

Thanks, I have submitted a ticket

Awesome, Nate!

Try to activate the SSL for the site > Clear browser cache > reboot your computer and try again.

See if that solve the issue.

No luck, but my cookies needed clearing anyway!

You did the right thing - site-support should be able to see more clearly what's the culprit that caused the problem.

Are there any rules around utilising a WA domain for something other than a blog? I am planning on building a wordpress membership site and figure I might as well host it withi

It is prudent to use your own domain...

Thanks - It would be my own domain. Just hosted by WA. But you are probably right, might be better to host through a company that ONLY sells domains and hosting, just in case WA decides to change their product offering in the future or isn't able to offer the required bandwidth

WA will cater all of you need and I would highly recommend sticking it out here... One stop shopping and for the price one cannot beat that: other companies are over charging just for hosting. Thank you my friend!

Thanks Again, That is why I am a little torn which direction to take. I do use WA for it's primary purpose being the training which i love and building out my blogs and growing my organic traffic. However my next project, being a little different, a membership site as opposed to a blog i thought I should ask first. I am not so much a affiliate for WA, but a customer who loves their products and services to date and want to use them again for my next project.

I categorically understand given all the content are well noted. Stay blessed and all the best to you.

According to Kyle membership sites are not permitted here. You need dedicated WordPress hosting somewhere else.

Great, Thanks SmallBizGuy1, Won't stop me using WA for my blog type projects, but at least now I know the rule and can work go elsewhere for this particular project

Where is there further info on this restriction?

I haven't found it written anywhere as yet. But it makes sense as WA is very much geared to have us writing blogs promoting WA - creating our own community is in direct contrast to this and likely frowned upon if not restricted. It is slightly annoying as I am a customer/ user more so than an affiliate here, and love their products but it is what it is i suppose...

I don't think there is a restriction.

oh really? That would be awesome news! I have already gone elsewhere for this particular project, but I would be stoked to know that my hosting provider (WA) doesn't restrict what type of site or contents I am able to produce through their services. Thanks

They have missed this $13 bucks a year, but i will surely have the full amount of domains soon enough!

I saw Kyle answer this in live chat. Member sites can drain a server. WA is on shared servers, for a membership site you would want dedicated servers.

I don't know how official this is or if it's enforced.

That is fair enough. For the price we pay here at WA it makes perfect sense to restrict sites like this as they could drain the server as they grow.
And of course my hope is to definitely need a dedicated server soon enough!

How could this have happened? Does not seem right to me.

Hey, Nate! I was also surprised and about 4 days ago I wrote on this matter because I received my very first referral too and I have never promoted Wealthy Affiliate. There are different ways in which we can receive a referral, take a look:

Thank you Henry-II, That is exactly the answer I needed, it explains quite clearly the awesome potential of WA and that it is not simply WP training but a true online community.

Cheers
Nate

You're most welcome! I'm happy you found this useful. Enjoy the training and this awesome community!

All my referrals have come from my posts and training at Wealthy Affiliate not from my website. Everything at WA gets indexed by the search engines.

Thanks MarionBlack

If you have a banner or any kind of link to any part of WA on your site, if someone checks out the site, you will get the referral.

Thanks, but this is why I am surprised/ confused/ concerned. I have not advertised in any way shape or form. My site is in it's infancy with only the about page and privacy policy, no mention of WA on any of my sites here or elsewhere as yet.

That's interesting. Well, be thankful for the referral.
