I'm lost...

Completed the course lvl 1, created the first page and the three pages therein, have no idea what to put in there as content, but worse, I have absolutely no clue what to put in my 'About' page.
I am supposed to write something up that makes readers trust me and want to read my content, because I am a trustworthy expert of the topic. Just how exactly do I do that o.O ?

Guess I will rewatch some lessons and reread some articles...

Feeling frustrated. There is something that I am not getting...

Eric, I have had to go over the lessons several times because I have had absolutely no computer knowledge, so it took me longer to catch on than most people. You'll get it. I promise!!! Keep moving forward!!!

My best advice would be to look at a lot of blogs and read the About Me page with an eye towards what the blog is. That should give you some ideas. As you find things you might like, note them down on a blank page. Eventually, you will be able to link them and tweak them for your own story.

I can tell you with absolute sincerity that you are not the first and neither will you be the last to feel frustration and sometimes overwhelmed. My suggestion to you is to find and look at about me pages constructed by members with low ranking . You will find excellent guidance and will obtain ideas from doing this. There is much fabulous information in this community

My niche is tech products to start and I have my background on what I did for a living and where I worked that helps my readers know that my past experience helps support my niche and the blogs that I write, and I also share some personal background as well, so I am just another person just like my visitor.

I like Kyle's about me page, have a read and it might give you some ideas. :) http://waystoavoidscamsonline.com/about-me

On the note of "What would cause you to 'trust' if you were the reader", that is a whole different ballgame entirely. I would want someone who has a proven track record, years and years of experience and is somewhat of an authority in the field ;-)

Thanks all for the input. Hmm I think I am overthinking this. I'm still in this mind set of "This is too simple, it is not professional - how could this ever work", sorta kinda...
Will give it a shot.
Thanks again!

Hi Eric, Michelle pretty much nailed it. I'll just add, be sincere put yourself in your readers shoes. What would cause you to 'trust' if you were the 'reader'. Take your time, talk it out loud(so what, if someone thinks you're crazy for doing this, it's for your future!!) be thorough, be convincing.

When you can read it, and it inspires you, publish it.

One other thing Eric, "Keep it Simple"
You are 'selling' yourself.

All the best. (-: J

I give you an example, I had a website peek, and a totally stranger viewed my site, the reaction on my about me page:

What is this!! A nanny??? hmm, taking care of children??? she must be a lovely lady, but to think she knows something about marketing, NEEHHH, I wouldnot go with her offer to join

So I changed it in:

The last 5 years I am self-employed.

So think as others, think as if you would read something, that will make it trustworthy to follow:)

Success

Hi Eric. Don't make it too complicated. :) Write about yourself a little bit, tell your viewers who you are and why you have chosen the niche you have. Maybe you have some personal experience that you can share. It's telling your readers that you are a real person that helps to form a trust in what you are writing and promoting. Michelle
