Hey Emily,

There's quite a few factors that could explain this.

However, the main issues are probably how "warm" your traffic is and exactly where you're sending them.

Let me explain this.

Firstly, your 8k Insta followers, WHY are they following YOU?

If it's through normal social media interaction, and I'm gonna be Blunt here, normal social media interaction will be some friends, some family, people who think you're hot, people who think you're funny, people who like what you post, this will typically be COLD traffic.

So, let's say you been chatting about your life on Insta, sharing funny memes, jokes, photos and videos of you and your everyday life, THIS IS WHY these 8k people are following you.

So, if you're NEVER spoken about affiliate marketing or making money online before, the vast majority of your followers will be like, "What the hell's going on with Emily, where's the funny memes, pictures of drinks and dinner, and videos of her girls nights out gone? "

So, immediately the vast majority of your followers would click out of interest BECAUSE IT 'S YOU. They' re not actually INTERESTED in making money online, but they're interested in YOU.

I'll give you an exaggerated example of this - imagine going to favourite clothes shop and they suddenly tell you that they now sell burgers. So, you've been buying your favourite clothes from this shop for years, suddenly you walk in to check out the new summer line and they're trying to sell a quarterpounder with cheese.

You MIGHT be interested in the burger but that's NOT WHY YOU WENT IN THE SHOP (the same as your 8k Insta have NEVER seen you talk about affiliate marketing before. You gotta warm them up first).

Secondly, where are you sending your visitors, to a website to PRESELL YOUR OFFER or directly to the Wealthy Affiliate platform via your affiliate link?

If it's directly to the platform, most people won't have a clue what to do next.

So, they'll come, look, and leave.

Even if you're preselling them on a website, which is fantastic if you are, you have a MUCH better chance of converting, but there's no guarantees.

As you're dealing with humans, there's emotions to deal with too.

Basically, you could get 10,000,000 clicks and NEVER MAKE A SINGLE SALE/CONVERSION.

It comes down to the factors I've mentioned above.

You can search Insta and Tiktok for WA member Grace, her handle will be Little.Mama.

Check out how she's making reels, but above all see how INTERESTED her followers are.

Are they interacting? Asking Questions? Leaving relevant comments.

The most important parts of ANY business are

Do you have an audience who are ACTUALLY INTERESTED in what you have to offer?

If not, go and find them.

Are you connecting with these people in a way makes them TRUST YOU?

We all do it, don't we? We tend to buy things from people we like and feel are similar to us.

It would be like me trying to sell fake lashes to my twitter followers interested in credit cards... It ain't gonna happen, LOL.

So, look into those above points and see if that makes sense.

Partha

Thank you for your insights.

Hi - most people would struggle to get nearly 20,000 clicks in a year.

It would be extremely unusual for a new website that is only 3 months old.

Unless you are promoting on social media and have a huge following.

Or you are paying for traffic.

Where have you found this figure?

I have an Instagram that has 8k followers and I have posted about how awesome this platform is. I think it's because of that because i have an open page and I do reels.

I just haven't made income from it. (yet)

Income will greatly vary among members. It can take a good year or more to start seeing income start to flow.

Just keep focused on adding quality content consistently. Share on Social Media. Maybe add a Youtube channel and discuss it there also.

It will work out. :-)

Mel

Thanks Mel!
I think instagram has helped.
I don't really like being on camera like that but I just might get out my comfort zone and do a YouTube channel. Thanks for the suggestion.

- Emily

Emily,

You don't have to show your face ever on Youtube. :-) I now just record directly off my computer screen. :-)

Mel

are these clicks within wa or your search console...
if wa then this is only an indication that wa members are reading your content...
there are bots out there who do seek out new sites and jsut monitor them, but looking at the time on page in your google analytics will show that they are there for 0 seconds...
so it all depends on what click metrics you are talking about Emily...

Interesting! I didn't know that and honestly I'm not sure what metrics I just saw 19,000 clicks on where you can click "Affiliate Revenue" on the side bar of the home page but 0 revenue just clicks so I wasn't sure if it was possible for some to be bots (but I don't know how exactly bots work)

that's internal clicks on this platform...
details for clicks and stats for your website are available through your analytics account and search console...
but there is a plugin called independant analytics that will show you visitors through your site...

I would consider reviewing my posts and see how can I enhance it better.

So the only page I have is the Privacy Policy. The rest of the content I have published it as a post. My Header menu is getting a little crowed. I want to organize it a little

Hi Emily…Kyle has you covers here.

-Mike

A page is static vs a post goes in the blog roll

You can create categories hovering over Posts, then you can add your categories to your menu. You can assign your posts to their respective categories, and also you can assign one post to more than one category.

Thank you!

I really want to get better at writing content.

Does anyone know ways I can improve this skill?

Hey you have great responses
Lula

Write as if you are talking to a friend. Help answer questions they may have or help solve a problem that they may be seeking a solution for — also, provide them with some unique reviews on products that may help them. Don’t sell them, educate them.

-Mike

Thank you Mike! Appreciate it.

You are welcome !

-Mike

Write for your readers and what they are asking relating to your niche topic.

You can look up Parthab
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/parthab/profile
and he has many posts on how to improve your content with what people are asking along with how to gain better rankings.

Here is one of many bring a large mug of coffee with you but all worth the effort .

I am sure someone will probably add some more to their comments you will receive.

Just start with that one and slowly digest and absorb what Parth gives then when ready check out the other blogs Partha has to share with his fellow members. Andre

Awesome thank you!

Most welcome Emily, enjoy reading what Partha has to say and have a great weekend as well.

Andre

When you are passionate about your niche subject and genuinely interested in, you'd find that content flows naturally. It does not take long to write an article.

Writing is pretty much like explaining something to someone.

You may start with free writing whatever comes to mind, onward to a more focused writing.

You may use apps like Grammarly which helps with learning and writing, an avenue for you to consider.

You may consult with https://answersocrates.com/ - You can search what real people are asking as in Questions, Prepositions, Comparisons, in the past, letters and query. It is also great if someone wants to write a thorough research based article.

Other sources include https://Quora.com, https://Answers.com, https://AnswerThePublic.com, YouTube search engine etc.

You may research other peoples work however all content must be originally written in your own words.

Feel free to reach out when you need help or have further questions.

I hope this helps.

Thank you (:

Most welcome and kindly let us know how you get along.
