very neat site! ive actually always been interested in preserving foods as I am a doomsday prepper (:
what theme do you use to have such large summeries? I get about 4 lines, no titles on mine!
Hi Rick, Carson advised me to use the 'Twenty Thirteen' theme, which this is. The original header image is not nice, you can upload your own image.
What I really like about it, is the footer menu where you can put things like your privacy policy etc.
Best wishes,
Lydia.
your site is nice man well put together. where or better yet how did you do your banner for the title and picture at the top?
I used Microsoft Publisher and imported an image. I used WordArt to put the text on top of the image. I grouped together and then exported as a JPEG file. I used resizeyourimage to crop and change size to fit screen size and that was it.
so the title isn't necessarily written in text its a photo of text made into a downloadable image?
You can use any desktop publishing software. If you don't have Microsoft Publisher, then you can use serif PagePlus, which is free.
http://www.serif.com and go to Downloads-pageplus Starter Edition.
Use this software and then put a text box over the image. Save and export as an image and crop to size. I haven't tried the Starter edition, but it may give you the tools necessary to create your own logo.
thanks man I really appreciate all the help. im trying to take an object an incorporate it into the shape of one of the letters.. that would have to do with photoshop wouldn't it??
To start stretching text and morphing into a shape, I would think Photoshop has all the tools you need. I just stuck to something basic since I didn't want to spend a lot of time learning new software.
Here's my site. I have quite a bit of content you can check out.

awe man great content. lots of good options to chose from in the menus.does that theme you used have multiple color schemes?
how do you go about the images? do you upload your own or do they already have them to chose from?
oh ok awesome. i tried to upload my own pics once and it never came out the way i wanted it! for example how your picture is very short and wide, i wanted the same thing but the picture came out distorted and stretched and looked horrible lol
How do you get such large areas for summeries. I get about 4 lines and that is it! What theme do you use.
Here is a link to my site: http://domesticviolenceinfo.net/. There is little content there as it still my work-in-progress but let me know what you think about the overall appearance.
number 1 i must say definitely a great topic. number 2 definitely could use more content but as i can see from the menus at the top, it looks like a good work in progress with a lot more good info to come. my best advise to at least get the main page people see first bulked up with content so they have something to read on if they happen to click your link.
Hi,
I think you should put the posts on your home page or creating a static home page. But until now a good job.
Hi there. Lots of members have links to their website on their profile page. Also you can go to this link where members have posted their websites for feedback https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/getting-started/please-give-me-feedback-on-my-website.
Hi Dakota, my site is http://marketingaffiliateplus.com I wouldn't mind some feedback either, while you're out there ;)
Thanks! Marcel
perfect example of why i asked for this! how did you create that side bar "learn how to start an online business" and then put ads underneath it?
From your admin menu go to “Appearance —> Widgets”, then choose a text widget from the left side of your options. Drag it into your sidebar, footer or wherever you want it to display on your page.
The text should be the affiliate code for the banner ad. In this case, I just went over to the banner section under WA’s Affiliate Program, chose the banner, copied the HTML code and entered that into the text portion of the widget. Then added the "learn how to start an online business” as the title. The code is both going to create the image for the banner and the affiliate link for the ad.
You can ad as many text widgets for different banner ads that you want.
Hope this helps!
yes thank you. ive been looking to do that to my WA site but been too busy lately unfortunately ):
My site is a fashion site for plus size women. I don't know if it will give you any inspiration but you can see what I've done :)

definitely some inspiration there! very clean and organized. both in the appearance and order of the menus ans such. do you recall what theme you used?
I recently changed my site and I love it more now, much cleaner than before. The theme is MH Magazine Lite. You can add a header to the top, I am working on getting one made for me. I'm not sure what I'm doing with it. Glad you like it! Thanks!
