Can one website contain 2 themes?
Hi everyone,
I have a website about cooking and now I'm thinking of selling cookware products on that website as well....and so I want to use the different from my cooking theme. Can I do that? If yes, could you all please so me how to do it.
Thank you everyone.

You should create two websites and interlink them. Having one dedicated to recipes and the other dedicated to cookware would bring you two different audiences and will intermix them.
Thanks Ultimateless,
But.... since I thought that if I put all in one website, then I would bring more people in and so my ranking would be higher and quicker. (That is just only my thought, therefore I'm not sure whether my thought is right or wrong because I'm still very new to this.) And so I would love to hear you advises and experiences.

The trick to marketing is to narrow your niche......think of it this way....I am a musician and I can play all styles of music but if I go to a club to play Jazz and I get there and think oh if I play some blues I will get more people...I will lose my Jazz audience and my blues audience won't trust me because I wasn't playing Jazz. When you go out into the market and you are selling recipes that is what they want but if you try to sell them cookware they will think oh not a true cook....do you get what I mean? The more focussed your website is, the better the experience for your audience and they won't have to choose.......if they do want to look at cookware they can click on a link on your sidebar that will take them to your cookware site. Putting two things into one site dilutes both of your products. That is my 2 cents worth.
Oh... now I can see the point, and I love your explanation.....you are totally right, and I 100% agree with you now. I'll open different website for my products.
Thank you very much Ultimateless.

Fantastic and fun explanation! :) I was just about to start a website which would include spiritual wellbeing AND natural cosmetics, and now I can see why it's not a good idea ;)
You can only have one theme per site in WP. But,I believe that we just create our own limitation. You can be creative with this project and I like your idea.
You can create a new page where all of your products are there. Make your page full-width so it will looks like a new site. You can put paypal buttons for your product when they want to buy it or you can link it to a page for each of your product.
Another idea is to find a flexible wordpress theme that will fit your idea of both an e-store and a blog. I'm sure there's one around or hundreds maybe. Changing theme will not affect the contents (articles, comments, media) of your site.
Hope this helps and you can PM me if you want me to guide and help you about my suggestion in detail.

Thanks Ces, I were thinking of find the theme that would most suit for both too, but I'm not sure if there is any.
I like your idea of 'Make page full-width,and put paypal buttons for product.....' but I just don't know how to do it. I'll PM you and let you know my theme name....
Thanks a lot for your time.

yup, sure I will help you. sorry for the late reply, I'm just having problem with my ISP lately :) I will find time to help you to work this out.
Thanks for your question, Diem.
I don't imagine you could use two themes on one site, they would conflict each other.....
I think if one were to try, WP would just install the most recent one tried.....
Yeah, you can't have 2 WP themes in one site. Better why not create another site (Rubix is fine too) and link it to your cooking website.
Oh... I haven't think about that, that is good idea.....But I'm thinking of bring all ranking or people in one website....
Thanks for your great idea.

Am not sure if you can build 2 themes in one. As far as I know, the option is to create another site and write about /promote those products in your current site (same as you do for any aff.program). or work the other way, create an e-commerce site (for your new site) and add Blog section (to have your cooking blogs).
Do update us the solution you took.
Thanks Snaaaz for your support and concern. After I had read Ultimateless explanation and advises (down below), I had made decision that.... I will open another website for products.
Thanks again

You can have more then one page on your site.. in fact you should. Each page you do can have different things you focus on if that is your wish. But unfortunately you can only choose one theme layout from WordPress for the entire site. You whole site will be set up the same way
If you're referring to the site's wordpress theme, then no -- only one wordpress theme at a time can be active on any given website.
If you're referring to theme as a product focus, then yes -- you can add a separate section to your site for a different but related take on your niche.
Thanks Bob for your quick reply, but could you please explain more specific about 'If you're referring to theme as a product focus...' I'm not quite understand.....Do you mean if I choose product theme..?
Thanks Bob
One of the themes (focus) of your site is your cooking area. I'm assuming that you're discussing recipes and ingredients among other things.
If you add a second area on cookware products to your site, you'll be expanding the site to attract people interested in both subjects.
I wanted to point out that doing this is perfectly fine since the two topics are very closely related. (You won't, though, be able to have two different wordpress themes operating on your site at the same time.)

You may get some traffic from having two ideas and themes in one site. But it will be more diluted than one site with your information rolled in or linked even to sub domains. One big idea to your audience is always best. A master copywriter Mark Ford expresses it best. http://www.awaionline.com/2016/05/ignore-this-rule-and-risk-the-success-of-your-copy/
